BC proximity to EP realistic in August?

Beach Club benefits are proximity to the Epcot International Gateway entrance and boat or skyline to HS. Proximity to Epcot is not in any way a launching pad for transportation to AK or MK. You will want to take the bus from Beach Club to those locations.

Send email to wdw guest solutions bring back FP for onsite guests

I'm offsite for at least half of my trips, so nope, not lobbying for more onsite benefits here! Sometime I have a car, sometimes use Uber or Lyft, it's much less expensive and I have never really cared about the whole Disney bubble thing. I do usually stay onsite at Universal though, much more...

    Arrival Day

Mk just has too many things we want to ride, Epcot does not have enough for me to bother with G+ there, and at HS I can get Slinky first for later afternoon, then have had success adding ToT, MMRR, MFSR, TSMM, we don't bother with RnRC. The one time I went to HS at rope drop, there was just too...

How old were you when you first went abroad?

I don't really count a short excursion into Canada as 'abroad'. Went to Europe when I was 27.

    Scottie Scheffler & Nelly Korda

Sebastian Korda plays tennis. He did remark once about his sister doing better at golf than he was at tennis. I don’t really follow golf so it doesn’t bother me if one player is dominating.

The Tortured Poet's Department- anyone else listening?

Saw that - can't say I disagree from what I have heard. There are a few Taylor Swift songs I like - I really like Exile with the Bon Iver guy, but for the most part I can take or leave it.

Why are new homes built mostly McMansions when people want smaller?

Personally we're retired, but the DC region has decent public transportation. We bought in a walkable area but the metro is close by also. If you can avoid rush hour times the traffic isn't too bad!

BC proximity to EP realistic in August?

You’re walking from Beach Club to Epcot every day? As someone already mentioned, there aren’t buses from there to the front of Epcot, and you would have to walk from them to the entrance if there were buses.

Why are new homes built mostly McMansions when people want smaller?

Things in my neighborhood go very fast generally, as soon as they hit the market. 1-2 million range. I see homes in some Alexandria and Arlington neighborhoods where modest homes are bought and either demolished or completely upgraded into much larger homes I think the ‘missing middle’ zoning...

Best savings? Disney hotel promo paired w/ gift card or renting DVC points or...?

The DVC rental companies have relaxed their cancellation policies a little bit, now offering credits for a future stay up to 4 months before, with diminishing credit percentage after that point. I have booked a confirmed reservation also and found that works for dates closer to the time of...

    What's your favourite Disney memory?

My youngest was 5 in 2000, and she claims she remembers being chosen to dance with a puppet in the Epcot parade (it was a mom & child puppet). My other favorite is dining at Crystal Palace and getting photos with our favorite Pooh characters. As my Dh is of Norwegian descent, we also enjoyed...

    Arrival Day

It depends on your park plan itinerary. We are arriving around noon on a Sunday and I will be stacking LL for HS that day. I have found it is the best park to stack for the afternoon/evening. We are offsite, with a rental car, so a slightly different calculation. We are doing one park per day...

    Amazing Race season 36

This season was apparently filmed during covid so is a bit different. They have stuck to central/south america and are a bit dull. I usually really enjoy the countries they go to around the world and seeing the scenery and local customs.

    Ticket upgrade questions

I upgraded a promo ticket (that I bought from OI) in November and was NOT given a 15 month AP. It says issued Nov 5, 2023 and expires Nov 4, 2024. I thought the fall promotion was still running then, perhaps I missed it.

Women who reported having been pregnant looked biologically older than women who had never, and women who had been pregnant more often looked ...older

Society is way too concerned with looking young. I look my age and am happy with that.

how much of a necessity is it to have a car where you live?

That's what I do most of the time - buy a few things, encourages me to get out and walk to the store more often! I do have a granny cart for larger loads, and put ice packs in it for cold things when I have a farther walk.

how much of a necessity is it to have a car where you live?

78 for me. When we moved here 3 years ago we specifically chose a walkable area with available public transportation. The place we moved from (suburbs) was listed as 30, which seems a bit high to me.

What do you call this grocery shopping holding device?

Maybe certain parts of Pittsburgh, not in the northern suburbs where I lived for 35 years. We never said gumbands or yinz either! Perhaps because it is a more transient area with people from other places? Definitely not a northern thing.
