    Na’vi river worth it?

Um, I'm on the fence. As an adult, probably not. My kids had not seen the movie, but they enjoyed the ride for the lights and sights. They would like to ride it again; but while I have seen the movie and appreciated the visual effect of the ride, I'm not in a rush to FP that over something else...

    Annual Pass Question

For me, I have to figure how many days during the trip I plan to be in the park (often a 7 day trip means only 5-6 days in the park). Then I price the tickets for the 2+ trips I plan to DEFINITELY take. Usually, this is the main basis for my decision to buy an AP. This year, ticket cost alone...

Planning for my parents without using separate MDE?

My parents are overwhelmed planning for Disney, and I have always made their plans in my own MDE account because we were always together on the same room reservations. This time, they have a separate room, but they have asked me to just plan it all for them. They don't want to have a MDE account...

Seeking Info From Those Wiser Than Me

If you fly, the DME bus experience is very simple and enjoyable. The video they play gets old once you've seen it, but overall the trip from the airport on the bus is relaxing and carefree. If you arrive before 10pm and use the yellow luggage tags they send, you can just get off the plane and...

How can I help my parents plan a trip?

In the last several years my parents have gone with us to Disney a few times, and I do all the planning. We would book a room/villa large enough for all of us. When MDE started, I added them in my account and always make their FP+ and reservations. My family of 4 is traveling later this year and...

Pros and Cons of bringing a backpack

Yes, this. I carry a small backpack (like a hiking daypack) with a hydration bladder for myself. It also holds my cards/phone, sunscreen, snacks, poncho, etc. The kids (7, 9) each have a Mini MULE Camelbak pack for their own water and snacks. It's awesome - I'm not carrying everyone's weight...

    Columbia Harbor House...not too shabby!

If their broccoli & peppercorn salad hasn't changed it's one of my favorites! Yet I can still never decide between that and one of their sandwiches. :)

If you could only take your child to Disney World once, what age would be the “sweet spot” to do it

Well, mine have been several times since before my younger child was born, and I'm still thinking "the older the better." The first year we went without a stroller was Ah-mazing! I got them both Camelbak packs and they carried their own water, snacks, and jackets. It was great to not hassle with...

    Rain Ponchos?

We reused the Disney ones for YEARS before they finally bit the dust. We haven't replaced them, but in our last couple of years we haven't encountered rain that our lightweight windbreaker-type jackets couldn't handle, and they packed small enough that we didn't mind hauling them through the parks.

New AP and AP room discounts?

Agreed; all the times I've booked with AP discount I never had to produce the AP (presumably because I booked online and had signed in with the AP already in my account to get the discount). I appreciate the responses; and it sounds like I might be able to book with a voucher. I'll just have to...

Water Bottle? or Purchase Water? What do you all do?

CAMELBAK! I bought one each for the kids last year before our trip and it was the BEST decision ever. They thought their water packs were so cool, were happy to have their own snacks, and didn't complain once about having to carry their own stuff. I carry my own light backpack with a water...

Phone vs Tablet in the Parks

I carried a tablet out of necessity one trip (LifeProof phone case failed me on day 1 at the pool, so I had no other way to communicate with family other than Facetime on the iPad). It was inconvenient, but the worst part was having to use it for any photos/videos I wanted to take. In my...

New AP and AP room discounts?

I've had an AP in the past, but I don't know how to find the answer to this question. I am thinking about going AP again, but one major contributor to this decision and when to buy/book would be having the ability to get an AP room only discount on the same trip I'm activating the AP. If I buy...

Any advice on how to save money on booking a night at a hotel on the way down to Disney?

When we drive, we often leave in the afternoon after school. We usually wait to make a hotel plan until after we've been on the road for several hours so we have a better idea how far we will get before wanting to stop. I search hotels.com, hotel websites, and hotwire for hotel prices on hotels...

What Resorts Do You Refuse to Stay At?

We've never booked a value because we want Queen/King beds. I'm not sure I'd stay at CBR again either. It just isn't calling me back. Still, when making our plans I look at all the options and then just opt away from those mentioned. If they were the only options I'd probably change our plans...

What is the longest you have ever waited in line for a ride?

Probably 60 minutes, though there was one time I might have been in line for Splash Mtn longer than that because of a lightning delay. DS and I eventually gave up on that one. There are few rides that I would wait more than 45 minutes for.

Late flight arrival, what hotel do you recommend for a 1 night?

DH always does it, and I may have misremembered. I just asked him about it and he can't remember if we used PL or not.

Late flight arrival, what hotel do you recommend for a 1 night?

We came in late and decided to spend the night in the hotel there at the airport. We used Priceline and got a great rate. When I set up DME I just told them we were coming in the night before but wanted to wait until the next day to get our bus. She just entered us in the reservation as though...
