Poll for Canadians Edited... I got one dose of ... and I got the my second shot (two votes allowed)

Here in London Ontario they are begging for people to come use up some Moderna that has been thawed and can't be re-frozen to donate to other provinces or countries. If those doses are going to be discarded because they are about to expire, I'd take a booster shot. (I've already had 1 dose...

Late arrival, What would you do?

+1 vote to go straight to CBR. When looking at the grand total of what a Disney vacation costs, that extra $150 will be money well spent.

Fee Free Credit Card with Rental Car Insurance?

About 15 years ago I got the No-Fee Scotia Gold card, just for that purpose - to have rental car coverage. Their website still shows that the coverage is available. I've been using the Rogers Elite Mastercard over the past couple years, but still use the Scotia Card at least once or...

    All Star Movies..

I suppose that it would normally be included in a package. Our last few stays have not been package deals - we purchased some discount tickets a few years back with no expiry dates, so we have been booking room-only reservations, and not full packages. I'm not sure if the travel agency...

    All Star Movies..

The taxes appear to be percentages. Rough math - Ocala County Tourist development = 6%, Florida state accommodation = 6% Ocala County accommodation tax maybe 1%? Taxes would be roughly 13% to 14%

    All Star Movies..

There are a couple of taxes that they charge. Below is from our stay in August 2019.

I've Been Vaccinated (No Politics Please)

Got Phizer on Monday. A little tenderness at the injection site, and a little tired - but no real major reactions to it. I'll still be wearing a mask and distancing.

    2022 Trip Planning Thread

We have a room-only 8 night reservation booked at All Star Movies for the last week of August 2022. We still have 2 sets of "Canadian Discount" tickets with no expiry date sitting in the safety deposit box at the bank. We have a 4-day plus waterpark ticket that we'll likely use for the...

    Waffle House

We love going to a Waffle House on our drive from Canada down to Orlando.. We don't have any here in Canada, so we like to stop at a Waffle House at least once every Disney vacation trip..

    Covid Fatigue

Canada Post Cash Passport Prepaid Mastercard

Yes, I've used the 3 numbers of postal code followed by 2 zeros at most pumps. It is just the pumps at 7-eleven that don't seem to work. (I've tried more than 1 7-eleven with the same result - it must be their system..) The trick works everywhere else perfectly :)

United Airlines is actually refunding me!

Not flight related, but I had bought non-refundable tickets to a music festival that I've attended multiple times over the years in Minnesota. (I'm in South-Western Ontario) The event was pushed from July 2020 to July 2021. Our tickets automatically rolled over to the following year. It...

Canada Post Cash Passport Prepaid Mastercard

We've had 99.8% success with our Canadian credit cards in the USA/Orlando. The only 3 places where we've run into issues is the gas pump at the 7-Eleven near the Disney Resorts, a Ponderosa Restaurant (a few years back), and at a Dairy Queen restaurant. Other than that, we use our Canadian...

Canada Post Cash Passport Prepaid Mastercard

The fees involved with that Canada Post Prepaid Mastercard are pretty hefty. $15 to buy the card. $3 to reload. 1.5% for spending domestically... Inactivity fees if you don't use it for a month. No real savings to be had in my opinion.

Anyone here from Ontario that has driven to WDW?

I am holding out hope for a March 2020 trip to Florida / Disney. The planning of the road trip, is what gets us through the long winters. I do try to book the hotel rooms well in advance so that we know that we've got a room along the way. As of today ( March 21 ) many of the major...

Anyone here from Ontario that has driven to WDW?

We ALWAYS drive to Disney World. The fuel cost from London ON to Orlando and back is less than $350 Canadian. We LOVE stopping along the way to eat at restaurants that aren't in Canada, such as Waffle House. The road trip is as much a part of the trip as the Disney Parks.

I've Been Vaccinated (No Politics Please)

We just went for a walk through our neighbourhood this evening and chatted with a couple people along the way. The general attitude is very positive about the vaccines becoming available, and everyone is looking forward to getting their shot and moving on with life... Congrats to those...

    Melancholy Weekend

We're right there with you playing the "where would we be" game this weekend. We would have arrived in Orlando on Saturday evening, and would have been checking into the Disney resort (Pop or Allstars) late morning today.... We drive from London ON to Orlando, and normally leave on the...
