    B2B on Wish

So on a B2B, you only pay for parking for half the cruise? Do they not tow the car when the garage clears out? Asking bc we're considering a B2B on the Wish later this year.

    Snorkel depth at Castaway

I want to echo this person's experience. I went snorkeling by myself in Nov 2019. Did a CC double dip. One day was nice weather and calm seas, so we did a family beach day. One day was very windy and much colder. I snorkeled on the windy day. For context, even though I'm a little fluffier, I...

will I be disappointed with another ship after sailing on Wish?

I've only been on the Dream and Wonder, but I personally preferred the Wonder. This was pre-pandemic. 7 nights on the Wonder and we never ran out of things to do.

    Breast pump sterilization question.

Just buy the cleaning wipes from Medela or whatever. They're not exactly cheap, but way easier than dealing with hot water and all that. Just sterilize it all at home after the cruise. My wife had to pump a ton on our last cruise (before COVID) and nothing bad happened doing it this way.

Strange World Is a Historic Bomb for Disney on a Weak Thanksgiving Box Office Weekend

Marketing left a lot to be desired...and... A central part of the plot, the non-hetero romance part, alienates a ton of people. Whether you think that's right or not, people feel a certain way about having certain things in children's entertainment. Seems to be a trend where those themes are...

    Norwegian dropping vaccine requirements

This is awesome news! I've said before I don't hate the testing rules, but I'm eagerly awaiting the day a cruise line gets rid of both vax mandates and testing, and they'll be the first to get my money. I miss cruising, but have thus far avoided any venue that requires vaccination/testing...

    Gradual release

I had help while in college in the sense I lived at home, but I paid for all my college, car, phone, and food costs by working a full time job. Wasn't easy. Full college workload and more-than-full-time work hours was tough, but as a young guy I had the energy to make it work. My wife moved out...

    Virgin Voyages just dropped testing

Let's hope nothing. Let's hope Virgin demonstrates that operations are minimally impacted by the virus, such that other cruise lines look at it as one less pain point for customers. Followed by removal of vaccine mandates. Followed by a return to normal, for those willing to take the risk. Let's...

Labor Shortage for cruise lines. Article on Reuters

My theory is that people who were previously working retail/food service for low wages are now working at Amazon or other warehouses because it pays better and you're not dealing with the general public. Also I've seen plenty of people retire when stocks ran up before the most recent dip. Who...

The CDC program for cruise ships is no longer in effect

Sorry to hear you are now positive. Are you symptomatic? We've had it twice already, delta and omicron. Hopefully this means they remove all vax requirements and testing. It's clear at this point that it's not going away and only those who are willing to take the risk should cruise. If they...

CDC Has Ended Covid Program For Cruise Ships

Keep in mind that's an anecdote. My kids pediatrician is part of a university system, and while the hospital that is a part of the university system requires mask, the pediatrician's off-campus location does not. This is in a blue state.

The CDC program for cruise ships is no longer in effect

A step in the right direction. If they remove the vaccine requirement, I'll book a trip immediately. I think I'm different from others in that I don't hate the idea of pre-cruise testing. I don't like it, but I don't hate it. Anyway...we'll see which cruise line is first to take the plunge and...

Being dropped by our home insurer.

By definition, that's how self insurance is supposed to work. Look at all the possibilities of claims that can happen to you, and let's call that total $X. Most people can't afford $X, especially since we're talking unplanned/unforeseen catastrophes. That's why self insurance is out of the...

    Home & Auto Insurance

Many factors at play, but everyone should expect increases to their auto and home insurance. The costs of repairs have increased just like everything else. Those costs translate to higher rates for everyone regardless of your driving history or property claims history. Many carriers decreased...

My Slow Divorce from Walt Disney World

I used to be the cynical guy, and over the years changed to exclusively staying in deluxe Disney resorts, multiple times a year, cruising, all that. We've spent dozens of thousands of dollars at Disney at this point (both US parks, cruise line, premium merch like Dooney bags). We always seemed...

    Photo package yes or no?

I budgeted for it but wanted to wait and see how they turned out. Our toddler refused to smile and most of the pictures were not ideal, so our cell phone photos ended up good enough. On our cruise prior to that we did purchase 10ish photos because they were wonderful. So I say, maybe just budget...

Group Dining in Palo with 8 adults. Advice?

When you get on the boat, go to Palo and talk to the manager and they will take good care of your group in advance of your Palo evening.

    Packing and avoiding onboard laundry

Not going to lie, on my cruise a couple weeks ago, I did some late night laundry. It was quite nice to put the wife and kid to bed, throw in a load, grab a drink and walk around a very empty ship. It was quite peaceful to lay out on a Deck 4 lounger hearing the ocean water and seeing the...
