This is one of the most spontaneous things I have ever done--and I think it only happened because of Member Services... Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent them:
Dear Member Services--
Forty-eight hours ago I was sitting at work trying to figure out if
I should bank my points now or hold out another few weeks to see if
something else might come up. I had no idea how fast my notion would
come to fruition! In a quick series of events my New York-based 4th of
July turned into a mundane exercise of sleeping in and watching
electrical storms outside my window. SO... at around 1PM, I decided to
take action.
I wanted to go to Disney World for the night. Needless to say, there
were to difficulties in my way: a room (although I figured SOMETHING
would be available...) and airfare, which I was sure would require an
arm, a leg, and probably even a little more because of the short
itinerary and the last minute planning.
This note is to thank Cindy in Member Services who turned my fears into
a quick succession of joys: I was able to reserve a 1-Bedroom @ the
Boardwalk Villas (my preference) along with airfare that would rival
anything I would book on my own a year ahead of time. She was quick
(recognizing the time issues), thorough (recognizing that there was NO
room for error), and thoughtful (reminding me that I should probably
make a Priority Seating at the Flying Fish Cafe).
I'm a little tired, and my girlfriend has a very slight sunburn, but I
would do it all over again, and it's wonderful to know that I can have
100% faith in Member Services to be there for me.
