Ok I thought I read something about this before but I can't find it so I'll try again. Has anyone done the 24 hour buffet at Excalibur/Luxor? Is the 24 hours from midnight to midnight or do you start the 24hours from the time you first go to one of the buffets? Just asking? :goodvibes

This is a good question. I would like to know the answer as well. DW and I are going next month. This is the first I hear of this deal. I sent them an email. Hopefully they answer. I've yet to get answers from them regarding other questions I asked.

I know Caesar's Entertainment Corporation offers a similar deal called the Buffet of Buffets. DW and I have done this deal before (and will probably do it again next trip), and know it's a 24 hour deal. So if you purchase the deal lets say at 7pm for dinner, then it's valid until 7pm the next day. The only thing they warned us about purchasing this was to make sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get to the cashier before time runs out. If you're in line and your 24 hours expire, they will make you pay again. If you time this just right, you can get 4 meals out of it.

DW and I had dinner at 8pm.
Breakfast at 7.
Lunch at 1.
Dinner again at 7.

What dates are you planning on going? If I'm there before you, I will see if I can find out for you. This might be something I'd be interested in as we have tickets to see Lion King at Mandalay Bay. Can maybe do dinner at Luxor and lunch at Excalibur since they're in the general vicinity.

What is the price on it? If it not really good I would not do it to compared to the Buffet of Buffets Thumper Man mentioned.

Luxor and Excaliber are at the end of the Strip so you are more likely to be far away if hungry.

The buffet of buffets is just under $50 if you get the players cub discount(which is free to get, called Total Rewards) when you include tax. But lets you eat in Planet Hollywood's, Paris', Flamingo's, Ceasarss, Imperial Palacess and Hara's buffets. So quite mid strip and lots of options. Because of the buffet costs you break even with 2 or 3 meals. I've done four meals late dinner, breakfast, lunch and late dinner, which is nice because I didn't feel like i had to gorge myself to get value.

The price is $32. I was interested (as I mentioned in my first response) as we'll be there next month and have tickets to see Lion King. We would be on that side of the strip so I sent them an email and this was their reply:

Good Afternoon,
This offer is daily 7 am – 10 pm – it is not 24 hours a day and you must purchase this in the morning

So the only way this would be good is if you plan to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Not really worth it IMO. As you mentioned, I would have to gorge myself to feel like I got my money's worth. I'll just stick with the Buffet of Buffets. At least I have time in between meals.

I think in your situation it would be ok to do, at least you will save a few dollars. But if not in those two hotels for a long while probably not worth it to do.

Thanks both Thumper_Man and skiingfast. It seemed like a good idea as we are staying at Excalibur, but as we don't eat breakfast there isn't really any advantage if we are only getting 2 meals out of it. Oh well it was just a thought. :)

Going with DM and D'Sis. They not ones to get up early, so we wouldn't make it for breakfast. Lunch and dinner possibly. We're staying at Mirage, so we're actually driving down to that side of the strip for the day. Make a day of it while we're there.

Sure thing. I never knew this deal existed until you asked about it. Like you, all we would probably get out of it would be 2 meals. We'll just stick with the BoB deal. I know how to make the most of that one, plus get a wider variety of buffets to choose from. Had we been staying closer to that side of the strip, we might have considered it more.
