A few pics from Franklin Reservoir this morning

Had a nice (socially-distanced) walk at Franklin Reservoir earlier today. It’s less than three miles from the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Coldwater Canyon but it feels like it’s somewhere in Appalachia. That’s probably why it’s been used in countless TV shows and commercials - The opening of the Andy Griffith Show, the Brady Bunch camping episode and several 70s commercials such as Frosted Flakes and one of Annette Funicello’s (there’s the Disney connection ;-)) Skippy commercials :-).

I am really appreciating your photos @WonkaKid, they are a welcome diversion from the everyday turmoil that we all are experiencing. You seem to have a very good eye for image composition which makes your photos all the more enjoyable. Also allows non California residents like myself to see the beauty in your area.

Thanks for posting.
Thank you -- I'm happy to hear that. These are difficult times. Anything I can do to help ease them feels like my duty. Better times are on the horizon.

When I got up into the hills a bit, I could hear the buzz of multiple bees. That made me slightly uneasy because about four months ago there was a swarm of 30-40,000 killer bees in Pasadena and some folks were attacked. In fact, I was on Main Street one day about four years ago when guests were diverted through the stores due to a swarm of bees. I don’t know what type they were but I suspect Disney feels that it’s always better safe than sorry and I agree.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. I think I was there that same day a few years ago when there was the swarm of bees on Main Street. It was a weird situation for sure. I had some pictures (taken safely from a shop) that I took that day it was in July of 2016. The pictures seem to uploading sideways, but they aren't saved that way on my computer. Sorry about that, I don't know how to fix it.

That sounds about right. Thanks for posting the photos.

I often have the same problem with pics when I upload them from my iPhone. What I do is simply delete them from the post then edit them on my phone to rotate them 90 degrees. I save them and then rotate them the remaining 270 degrees. When I upload them again after that, they display correctly. This forum seems to be finicky about images.
