Hi,

Can anyone whose has hired a car from Alamo recently from the UK confirm what ID is required?

Just the pink photo license?
International permit?
Paper license?
All 3?

Thanks in advance!

Didn't rent from Alamo this year (first in a long time) - went for Dollar instead. They looked for photo card licenses only although also had the paper copy and the code from the DVLA that is now mentioned on car hire websites. We have never ever had and International permit and no one has ever asked for one. No one has ever asked for the paper license that goes with the photo card before either but we always make sure we have it just in case.

Do not forget the MAIN driver must have his /her Credit Card ...... this person

should have booked the car.

The Pre Paid Voucher ...... You must bring this with you .

you don't need the DVLA code (you never needed it, that code is solely for driving a renatl car in the UK)
you don't need the International Drving Permit (unless your license is not in the roman alphabet, and if you have the new photocards, there is not text to translate anyway...)
if you have a photocard driver's license, you no longer need the paper counterpart.

The Pre Paid Voucher ...... You must bring this with you .

As long as you have the Rental Companies booking ref you're fine, they just disgard the voucher. Sometimes they even just take your name - at LAX recently I used the self service machine using just a code.

Hi

Never needed more than the photo part of your UK licence I've taken the rest but never been asked. Plus if you do a kiosk clearly you wont need it.

Paul
