We at staying one night at the beginning of our vacation in December. We have a one bedroom, savannah view. Any tips,on room requests. We have never stayed here and would love some input.

Request Arusha savanna view along Zebra trail. That would put you on the inside right side of the U-shaped building overlooking the savanna in the center. It also faces west and thus gives views of pleasant sunsets but avoid blinding sun coming in during the morning. It also puts you on the side where the pool is.

Thanks. In your opinion, which is better, Jambo or Kidani?

Each has some advantages over the other. If I were doing only a night, Jambo would be the choice mainly because it has three restaurants including a counter service that can be used for something quick in the morning and Boma, one of the best buffets on site. I consider the Arusha the best savanna, though only by a small margin since I think Sunset, the largest one serving both Jambo and Kidani, is a very close second. Jambo has the larger pool with more mature trees and bushes which allow you to easily find shade if you want it. Jambo also has the larger and nicer store and larger and more impressive lobby. Jambo also has the best GVs on site, all single story, spacious, a pool table, a whirlpool tub in the bathroom from which you can watch a large TV in the wall, and huge porches.

Kidani has only one restaurant,Sanaa, which is table service and does not serve breakfast but personal view is that it is one of the best restaurants on site, and unlike those at Jambo which are enclosed, it has large windows along one wall looking out at the savanna. The pool has the much longer slide and the kids special water play area is impressive. The Kidani 1BRs and 2BRs are much larger than the Jambo rooms, have far more closet space, an extra bathroom, and a separate tub and shower in the master bathroom (Jambo has a combined tub and shower). The studios at both are about the same size. Kidani has a community hall, Jambo does not, and has ideal under building parking if you have a car. With elevators along the wings you can always park fairly close to your room. Jambo's lot is across from the front of the building and walk can be long if you have to park in the back part of the lot. Kidani's two story GVs are very impressive and have an extra pull out couch at a sitting area at the top of the stairs.

We have ended up choosing which building now based on type of room. If studio or GV, it is Jambo, if 1BR or 2 BR it is Kidani.

Thanks for the great info. Our home resort is BCV which we absolutely love, but we are considering adding on at AKV. Hoping we love it there!
