My husband was at this fest over the weekend and couldn't believe how poorly the club owner treated his patrons. This club has hosted the festival for the last 3 years, and the rules have generally been the same every time. Those who are 21+ are allowed re-entry throughout the day (13 hours of music makes for a long day) and there are always jugs of free water placed near the bars.

This year, however, the club owner wasn't happy with how much beer was being sold at the bar, so he decided to make the crowd a captive one. Day 2 of the festival saw the beginning of a new rule -- absolutely no re-entry. A lot of attendees, used to the precedent set, had food and in some cases medication back at their hotel rooms to get later. Now they'd be unable to do so and return to see the rest of the festival. About an hour or two later, the free jugs of water disappeared. For a short while, the bartenders were happy to give away free cups of tap water. Last weekend in Baltimore was over 90 degrees a humid. Being in a room with a thousand people gets hot. Soon, though, bartenders began saying they were instructed not to give away water. Instead, a bottle could be purchased for $3. Sometime later, this jumped to $4 for no known reason. All the bars were cash only, so when the ATMs ran out of money, it could've been a bad situation. Many people bought one bottle and proceeded to refill it in the bathroom sinks. This became undesirable, though, when the toilets stopped flushing. The men's room basically flooded with urine, and was soon overtaken by flies.

A few band members (who had re-entry privileges) did manage to smuggle in some 6 cases of water, which they distributed for free. They were the superheroes of the day, along with the third-party food vendor grilling in the alley outside. Had they not been there, there would've been no food available to the people trapped in the club.

If you live in or around Baltimore, please do your best to avoid supporting this club. The owner is clearly someone who is only interested in making as much money as possible, even at the expense of the health and well-being of his paying customers.
