Anyone use Omron Nebulizer on their Disney trips?

We used this on our trip to DW for DD. It worked well. It is much more compact than out othe one. Be sure to get the batterypack and car adapter. The only thing is that it took a bit longer to finish the med. DH got it online, but we still needed a prescription for a PORTABLE nebulizer. I also had to turn it on for airport security. make sure that you bring your meds in the original box with the script on it. They gave me a hard time because the meds weren't safety sealed. You might also want to post on the DISABILITIES board. Good luck

I don't know where to post this so I hope someone here can help me. I have to take a nebulizer for my son's asthma. When I go to DL I don't want to lug it around so someone told me about Omron's portable compAir Elite Nebulizer System (Ne-C21V) anyone use this? Anyone know the cheapest place to get it online? I hope someone can help.

Copying this thread over to disABILITIES so our experts over here can also help :)

Thanks Dagny...someone told me to post it here so I did. You can close this thread if it helps.

We have the Pari neb, which is quite compact and portable, with multiple power options. But in the parks we carry Albuterol with a puffer chamber, which is lighter and more packable. We can always return to the room if a neb is required.

According to the Transportation Security Administration website, they do not require meds to be in safety sealed bottles.
I'm sorry, their website won't let me post a link to the direct page, but if you type in "Medication" in the Search area, it will take you to the pages that have to do with medications. You should also be able to get there by using the link on the left side of the page for Travelers and Consumers and when you get to that page, use the link on the left for Persons with Disabilities and Medical Conditions.
They may be a little more "jumpy" at times with aerosolizing devices than other medications, just because those could be used to put material into the air.

Hi,

We have the same model nebulizer and did use it on our WDW trip. My DD (3) has severe asthma and we would not be able to travel without a portable nebulizer.

Just make sure when you get the nebulizer to buy the back up battery and the car power adapter (FYI - the nebulizer comes with all the adapter plugs you need for international travel - a big plus for us since we are planning a trip to Thailand). Another attachment you may want to get is the extra tubing attachment (it is specific to this nebulizer), so you do not have to hold the actual unit so close to your child's face. If you use a mask, you need to get the mask that fits with their nebulizer cup also.

Another thing to make sure you have is a new prescription from your pediatrician, in case you run out of medication, saves time at the drugstore with trying to get prescriptions transferred.

We used the nebulizer in the park with the battery, then at night recharged the battery in the hotel room, this worked very well for us. If you do not get the battery, you can go to first aid in all of the parks and plug in your nebulizer.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks everybody. This is my first child that ever needed the nebulizer. I'm learning all kinds of things as I go. I don't know what I would do without people like you out there to help.

I just carry extra batteries w/ us and don't worry about bringing the adapter.

Mine is model NE-U22 which has it's own carrying case made out of hard plastic & has a net inside the case to hold the ampules.

It truly has been a life saver & kept me out of the ER!

I just posted a question about taking the neb on as a carry on. My son just recently got a nebulizer and ive not had to take it anyplace. Mine does not have a carry case, or battery or anything fancy to it. Im not sure where to get a battery so ill be needing to call the maker. Iam still curious about taking it on the plane . I feel like it will get thrashed around down in luggage.
Thanks for any advice
Tink~
