Bird of Paradise--No flowers

I live in South florida zone 10. I have a Bird of Paradise plant for a number of years. Once I got some birds on it. All I get is really nice leaves. It is in full sun. I went to the Epcot F& G Show and spoke with Paul James from HGTV about this and he could not give me an answer. Right there were gardeners from Disney and they did not know what to do.

Anyone out there that could give me answer? I love these plants and would love to see some birds on it.
