Yep,used to be directions for making them on the Hus/Viking web site.
They used the polomer beads("water condition") that gardners use. The beads soak up x-times there weight in water, expand, and then shrink as they dry out. You just make a long tube of tight woven or knit fabric, about as thick around as your wrist, and longer then the neck size you want. Do NOT stuff it full of the beads, remember they grow when wet! I think you only filled the tube about 1/2 full... Maybe slip stitch one end and try it out? Befor you stitch the end up permently.
