cleaned both kids rooms last month, little kids stuff got gone over with a fine tooth comb. Anything he didn't want left the house - either to goodwill or trash. 10 bags of stuff there.

big kids room yielded 2 bags.

also got rid of a spare crock pot, coffee pot, craft items that won't be used, an old sewing machine, and about 10 bags of clothes that had been lingering in my trunk waiting to go to goodwill.

my goal is to remove 10 items from every room of the house each week. It's almost time to start thinking about Christmas decorations, which usually shoots my anxiety through the roof at the thought of adding even more clutter to the house. Hopefully this year we'll have everything de-cluttered and ready to decorate so I can enjoy it.

I haven't been very active on here, but we set a realistic plan to move in early summer of 2020, so I got this crazy plan to start purging.

Got rid of 5 diaper boxes and a giant blue tote of baby clothes, 3 boxes of baby toys, our christmas tree (we wanted a smaller one this year), diaper bags, maternity clothes, and random baby stuff. I'm about to go purge through the kitchen drawers and get rid of any old papers or junk thats been accumulating there this week. And then I get to tackle our bedroom next week (aka the dumping ground).

I haven't been on here in a while, but I have been trying to continue to declutter.
I did manage to give two full plastic bins of toddler clothes to my brother for his kids.
I also found two bins of infant clothes that I'd been saving for those same kids, but never gave to them while they were that size! Oops! So, I donated those clothes (except for some really ratty looking things that I just tossed) to a local pregnancy outreach center. If I can get the VVA to stop by next week, I'll have two more garbage bags full of adult clothes to give them. (DH got in on it too!)
While I was down in the basement, I did get rid of some empty and torn used gift bags, at least 10 old shoe boxes that I was convinced would helpful for "school projects" but were never needed, and some scraps of wrapping paper too small for any reasonable gift. Small moves, but all in the right direction.
I just hope I have enough energy to go through another bin or two before we have to take out the christmas stuff -- otherwise it will all have to wait until January!! I want to free up some space so I can see the walls in that basement!!!!!

I'm going to try to do some more decluttering today but it will have to be limited to stuff that can go to Goodwill. I just noticed that the garbage men haven't come this week and our can is full.

So VVA can't make it here until next week, but I'm amazed at what we accomplished. 5, count 'em, 5 big black trash bags of clothes leaving the house, along with a box of assorted barely worn kids dress shoes, a large shopping bag full of hats, scarves, gloves and such, and another shopping bag of small household things - mugs and decor items.
PLUS! - we also have a box of toddler clothes, including a coat and hat, a new in the plastic wrap potty cover, various sippy cups, plates and silverware for toddlers, all that looks like it never used or wasn't actually used, a pack of pull ups (I can't believe we had these!!) and a thing to hold baby wipes so they are covered in a diaper bag or purse and we brought that to the local pregnancy outreach center.

I am so excited!! I really hope that some of this will help someone else!!
