Disney Gift Card Deals

Be careful with eGift cards you get from MyPoints. Two days ago I redeemed points for one $100 Target ecard and one $50 Target ecard. I entered them in my Target account and the $100 card had $0 on it! I called Target and it was redeemed the day before. So I was finally able to get through to MyPoints because it's all by email contact, and they credited the points back to me. I redeemed them again and the balance of $100 was there. So this was on Sept 16th.

I went in my Target account today and it was zero balance again!!! Someone purchased something IN the Target store in Colorado (I live NOWHERE near there) yesterday! I called Target since the $100 is in my account and I knew they would see the history. She said it's an issue with MyPoints. However, she did say she will have a specialist look into it, since I said they allowed someone to purchase something on an ecard that was linked to MY account.

I am waiting for MyPoints to get back to me again also. Ugh. It seems to me someone on their end is accessing the gift card numbers and access codes and watching and waiting for funds to be added. Or someone is hacking something. But it was only the $100 one, not the $50.

This is ridiculous. I'm so annoyed, and have to wait for both of them to get back to me.
I had something similar happen to a couple of GCs that I had added to my Target app. One was from Perk and the other was a eGC from Target. They were both used at the same place, same day, hundreds of miles away from where I live. The Target GC rep absolutely refused to look into it and blamed it on Perk, even though one of the GCs was issued by Target. When I pointed out that little detail, her response was that if I could find my receipt, Target would refund the $5 that was from the eGC issued by Target but I was SOL when it came to the Perk GC.

I no longer add any GCs to my Target account, removed my CCs from it and reduced my Target purchases to almost nothing aside from the Disney GCs that I get with my free Perk GCs.

How much does the stuff you buy with it amount to? Just wondering if just a few dollars will do it, or you have to spend a lot? I want to try at Target tomorrow, but I am just wondering if doing that just amounts to buying other merchandise with the Target gift cards, and paying for the Disney gift cards with the Red Card, cash, CC, etc. I know if you pay with part gift card and part Red Card, and you return something you will always get back the refund as a gift card first.

A couple of days ago I bought a few things at my local Target along with a $100 Disney GC using a Target egiftcard and my red card and they subtracted the Target gift card from the total and then applied the 5% red card discount to the remainder.

So you combine the WM GCs at customer service at Sam's or WM? I wasn't aware you could do that.

Sorry for so many questions. I was so used to the good old days with Target > Ebay and repeat that I'm still trying to figure out other stores. Only time I've used Sam's was using my Discover card when I was able to get 5% back.

No problem! i combine at Sam's, i believe Walmart owns them.

I don't trust the target app at all. a couple of years ago it got hacked and thousands of GCs were wiped out. one girl had over $2k of Gcs loaded and Target did nothing to help. it's not the rewards company, it's the app.

Fwiw that's how it will always work with the RedCard discount. Only the amount charged/debited to the card will have 5% discount applied.

Well it looks like Mr Rebates is no longer giving cash back for BJ's gift card purchases - they must have closed that loop hole. I just reached my 30 day mark on my first attempt at an order through their site that had been registering at zero dollars. They already replied back and gave me the response about BJ's policy of no cash back rebate for third party gift cards. Now to try Sam's club at the 2% or just forget the site altogether.

Just reporting on a recent Best Buy purchase. I used the ibotta 1% back and received it on a gift card only purchase using a Best Buy gift card and one of their fifteen dollar promotional codes. I did not get anything back on the five rewards dollars I put on the gift card.

I just purchased $650 in Disney GCs using Target GCs/red card. First transaction was $150 using egift cards - cashier had to call someone else to see if they could do it, then just ended up seeing if the register accepted them. Good to go. Second transaction was $500 using my red card. Got my 5% off and was on my way. No other items purchased :)

That would make sense if iBotta is tracking the actual purchase amount. The BB rewards dollars seem to act as a coupon, so you're total price would be $5 less than the gift card value. The promotional codes act as a payment, they get rung up as a gift card (but they can't be called a gift card because they have an expiration date less than 5 years) so that would count the same as money/gift card.

I forget what folks said before, can you double (or triple) dip iBotta with Shopkicks (and BB rewards if buying with money) on each BB purchase?

I checked a few pages back and didn't see any info on getting Disney gift cards at Costco. Anyone have info about if they have any deals?
Thanks

So quarter 4 for the Chase Freedom is Wal-Mart and department stores. I suppose buying the max in Wal-Mart gift cards and using those for Disney Gift Cards at Sam's would be a decent deal, but no cash back portals for this, correct? Wonder if there's any other method for the Freedom 4th Quarter that would be more beneficial?

Off hand that seems like the best method so far. The only thing I can think of similar or better would be if one of the stores does a discount on gift cards (their own or disney/3rd party) during the holiday season. But what are the odds of that? :confused3

I don't shop most of these stores so I'm not familiar with their holiday promos. Last year we got discounted gift cards from Target, Big & Tall (whatever they call themselves these days) and a local restaurant. Otherwise I didn't really pay attention to much from the department stores.

I don't know, but I'm bummed. I think it was warehouse clubs last year. I was hoping for that again. :(

Haven't had time to look into this more but has anyone done this offer? Looks like a pretty good offer with 20% off on a BB Gc. Wonder what the limit is on how many you can buy.

I did it today. The eGC was in my Swych app immediately. It doesn't look like a regular BB eGC. However, I had no problem redeeming it from my phone today.

I've done it. Pretty easy for $7.50 in free money. Like @Marionnette said, the gift card appears immediately in your Swych app and includes a barcode that can be scanned, card number and pin -- everything needed to redeem online or in store. Limit is 1 per new account, but I suppose you could create multiple new accounts if you have access to more than one smart phone and email address.
