Disney gives us credit!

We almost always receive a refund on PIF date. They often overestimate port fees.

I wonder how does that work if you’ve paid with gift cards? Do you receive an email notifying you of the refund or just noticed it on your credit statement?

It’s usually the case you will get money back. If Disney overestimates they just give you the money back. If they under estimate the port fees Disney will eat the cost.

We received a notice of a $17.56 refund for our upcoming cruise. Paid with gift cards. Just had to input each card at https://www.disneygiftcard.com/ to figure out which card they refunded the money to (6 cards used to pay cruise).
Very good reason to consolidate your gift cards at www.disneygiftcard.com you can add smaller denomination cards to total up to $1000 so you use the least amount of cards to pay for your cruise. Just keep those cards after you use them to pay for the cruise in case of any refunds. We ended up paying for our 2019 WBPC with some $1000 cards plus a few $500 cards.
