Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Considering the discussion of Disney's recent ridiculous timelines for construction/projects, how confident would you all be in booking at YC/BC for the first week of July next year and having SAB actually reopened? I know the current time frame is refurb finishing up in June, but any sort of delay potentially messes us up. I can't imagine a trip without spending at least part of the time in the Epcot resort area (our favorite), but I also can't imagine a trip in July with no feature pool. Considering the idea of booking across the way at BW, but the pool there is likely to be overrun with displaced Y&B folks if SAB is still closed.
Both CBR and POFQ had multi month pool closures for refurb and both opened on time, if that helps.

Go back to post 42,861, which said this:

"I just checked & can find not even 1 reservation for any room at YC from July 21 to November 18."

and the posts immediately following.

Editing: nobody said that YC will be closed. It's possible that it will be refurbished, which will result in some rooms being unavailable while they work on it. We have not heard anything definite yet. They might have temporarily blocked rooms from being reserved while they figure out what they're going to do.
its not closed... atleast it better not be, I have a reservation there in august!! :)

And all the YC dates are back for booking.
Thanks for posting. Any updated thoughts on that refurb theory? I started planning an extended family trip for October and wanted to put everyone at Beach Club but there wasn't enough availability there for everyone. Naturally I tried Yacht Club for the rest of the needed rooms but none were showing so I reluctantly chose Boardwalk (different pool, slightly further). Now I'm not sure if I should modify those to Yacht Club. There seems to be no escaping Crescent Lake area construction!

From January through May 2025, some Guest rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be under refurbishment.
While Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.
This is from the Disney website for the YC. Nothing like this for the BC.

Does anyone know about this? Club level rooms? Are they refurbing the YC again? Maybe this is when the CL lounge will be redone.

I have a reservation for Feb 6-18 in a CL resort view room. I couldn't get a water view CL room. Maybe the water view rooms will be getting a makeover?

This coupled with SAB being closed?!?

Yeah. Just booked AKL for February instead of YC/BC. No SAB was a pain, although we could chance it since who knows if February would be warm enough for swimming anyway. But add in resort construction of unknown impact, and I’m bailing. Unless they put out a really sweet deal, of course, but they’ll need to go higher than the 35% that the AP discount tops out at.

Please add us to the list as we’re heading back to Yacht this summer! July 20-27, taking advantage of the 30% off discount to celebrate both girls’ birthdays AND our anniversary (we haven’t done a summer Disney trip since our honeymoon! 🥵). We prefer to go in early December but our girls will be in middle school and high school (which does a block schedule) next school year, so we can’t take them out for a week anymore. If we’re stuck going during school vacations, we figured we’d at least go when we can get a discount and not everyone is forced to go during the exact.same.time. And, unlike our honeymoon, we’ll actually be as prepared as we can be for the heat (fans, cooling towels, liquid iv, etc.). Here’s to hoping we don’t melt! 😂

Beach Club was just refurbished, finished at the end of 2023. The warning about construction work was listed for BC when it was getting redone, but it was not listed on the YC page at that time. It is the normal for YC to be next in rotation after BC. YC hasn’t been refurbed since 2016. It was the first resort to get the hard surface floors, every other resort has been done since then. Totally expected it to get done soon. I would expect all rooms will get refreshed, including CL & waterview rooms. These dates make sense since a lot of people may avoid Y & B when SAB is closed. Just remains to be seen how much they will do. Pretty sure all rooms need painting, maybe some damaged flooring & hallway carpeting replaced. I know some mattresses could do with being replaced.

Normally they start on the 5th floor and work down from there to the 1st floor. Yes the YC is due for a refurb and Jan - May makes sense and that's what is posted concerning the YC. The BC just finished a refurb in 2023.

I have still booked to stay at BC early June 2025. We have young children so hoping for SAB to reopen if not we like the smaller pools. And could do they water parks if the kids miss the slides.

The BC location is hard to beat for us with strollers.

Fingers crossed for an early open🤞🏼

When my kids were young, we spent more time at resorts in the quiet pools where often they had the whole place to themselves. That may not be the case if its the only pools open, but i can definetly see your logic here. A day at the waterpark can scratch the itch and you cant beat the location.

Checked into BC yesterday. Check in was a hot mess. Our room wasn’t ready until almost 5pm and there were quite a few families down there waiting as well. We had a nice CM trying to give us updates but not really accurate. He told us around 3:45pm that they were in there then but it was an hour 15 minutes later when he finally came back and said it was ready. We got up to it and of course none of our bands or digital key would work. I had to go back down and get them programmed again. They said they would give us a credit on our bill without me asking for anything so that was nice. We’ll have to wait and see if that is accurate. Haha

Well....so glad we already changed our Jan 2025 ressie from YC to BC. I normally do not care if a resort room refurbishment is happening when we stay at a resort. The exception being a resort that is all under one roof. Way too much disruption for the prices of those rooms.
