Driving in December - Worst Idea Ever?

We drove to Florida last December and we were very fortunate with the weather. On the way back it rained for almost the entire drive home. Go figure, no snow in December but rain for 16 hours. The drive was not a problem but snow would have added a lot of time to our drive. If you give yourself lots of time and are not in a rush the drive is fine.

We're driving ...done it many x in December. Leaving December 21 -- home Jan 02
21 Hours door to door ..
Just watch the weather, pick your route accordingly.

Second this post. We've done it every year at Christmas since the early 2000's. Most times you're fine, but the big thing is to keep checking the weather forcasts and plan accordingly. I think we've had more problems with the weather for March break drives than Christmas!

We are leaving Burton, NB on December 15th and should be there on the 18th. Hubby loves driving so that is a plus. Even taking our daughter out of high school a week early. Just have to figure out what daughter needs for homework so she can do it on the way down to WDW.

Just saw a billboard for Allegiant out of PIT to Sanford starting at $49.

Haven't found one but thats what it said. Problem with Allegiant is that it looks like they only fly Sunday and Thursday
