A May 2018 Pre-Trip Report

skrrrrrtt2.jpg

Hey, ya'll! So, it's WELL-established at this point that I have literally zero time for the DIS these days. However! I miss all of you, and I miss writing and sharing here. So, while I make no promises regarding the frequency of updates here or the consistency of personal replies, I can promise to try my best and to HAVE FUN with it! I certainly hope you'll join me! :P

So that being said, I must ask: Do you personally enjoy, or are at least amused by, any of the following?
  • Obsessive Disney planning that borders on psychologically-questionable
  • Food, glorious food
  • Being a princess and wearing tiaras
  • Off-color humor
  • Rising up against the tyranny that is the social convention of wearing pants
  • Sarcastic commentary
  • Food. Like, lots and lots of food.
  • Spreadsheets... Maaaany many spreadsheets
  • Photos of adorable cats
  • Day Drinking
  • Animated gifs used in hilarious and inventive ways
  • Having ZERO craps to give sometimes
  • Retail therapy
  • Wait, did I mention food?
If you just answered YES! to any of the above questions, then you my friend, are in the right place! :goodvibes I do hope you'll join me, and keep me company as I while away the months, weeks, days, and hours until my next escape to Walt Disney World!

THE DETAILS:

Who: Me, Myself, and I! Rollin' out for my 5th solo adventure!
What: My 15th visit to Walt Disney World, to celebrate the successful completion of my first year back in college.
When: May 6-11, 2018
Where: Disney's Boardwalk Inn
Why: Because adulting sucks, and who really needs financial stability anyhow?

THE CAST:

yarr.png

ME: Billie, 37 years old :cutie:
~ WDW is a huge part of my life. I'm an Annual Pass Holder, and a former Disney Destinations-certified travel agent. I live in South Carolina, a mere 5-hour drive from WDW, which makes it WAY too easy to just ditch adulting and responsibilities and stuff, and run away to act like an overgrown toddler 2-3 times a year. I am a single gal (bordering on old cat lady status), but I don't let that hold me back from going "home" and enjoying the one place on the whole planet where I feel truly content and in my element... DISNEY WORLD! :hyper:

I work full-time as an Administrative Specialist for a behavioral health facility, and part-time at my pet sitting business, Precious Paws Pet Care. I also volunteer weekly with my local county animal shelter's cat adoption center, the Tabby House. Additionally, last year I started college at the ripe old age of 36 years old, and at 10 credit hours, I'm carrying almost a full-time load. Needless to say, I'm a BUSY girl. As such, my WDW escapades are very much needed!

Favorite Character: Minnie Mouse
Favorite Movie: Beauty and the Beast / Tangled
Favorite Princess: Belle
Favorite Song: Someday My Prince Will Come / I See The Light
Favorite Park: Dead tie between Magic Kingdom and Epcot
Favorite Ride: I'm incapable of choosing one over all favorite! However, my favorites in each park are Splash Mountain, Soarin', Tower of Terror, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Favorite Show: Illuminations, but Happily Ever After is slowly starting to edge it out!

YAY!!! Billie's back! We've missed you!

I completely understand about not having time for the DIS though. Life can be rough, and adulting is hard!

Congrats on going back to school! You got this!

I can't wait to see where this trip takes you! I'm just sad that I am going to miss the chance to run into you in the parks! I don't check in until May 21st myself. :(

Welcome back!!! Can't wait to hear more about your trip! Good luck with school, that is an awesome accomplishment!

Following along! I enjoy your reports and I look forward to hearing about your upcoming trip And possibly what you are excited to try at F&G! My husband and I are headed down about a week after you and it'll be or first trip as parents as we will have our new son with us... I love your lists of what you want to try at the festivals bc it's usual what I want to try too!!

I may have hunted this PTR down after seeing you mention it on FB. #sorrynotsorry

I'm excited to see all the fun (and food!) plans!

Yay! I was a lurker on some of your past reports. So glad you are back and planing another trip Home! I can't wait to hear all about it. Especially the food and day drinking.popcorn:::drinking1

May 6-11, 2016

Curses - again, we are missing each other! We're heading down the 16 :/ But I hope you have a blast!!! And that means our planning is at similar stages (which I find fun). Glad to see you back!

Gonna renew my Annual Pass!

The best!! I am praying we end up moving somewhere close to Disney for Will's next job and can have an excuse to renew ours...and maybe sneak a surprise trip in there :P I'm looking at an entire year after this May trip until another one and I don't know if I can cope! *Caveat that I have been utterly spoiled by three years being 6 hours away from Disney :P

Excited to be here and follow along!

Yay! I'm so glad you're back and going back to Disney. This sounds like it's going to be a great one! As someone who is also working full time and taking a ridiculous course load, I can totally understand being busy. Can't wait to hear all about this upcoming trip!

I've read your reports before and LOVE THEM!!! My pretrip report is in my siggie......would love to have you stop by!!!:butterfly

Adulting is the WORST.

I hope I got this. It's ROUGH!

It seems like I'm just barely missing a lot of people on this trip! I have to schedule it around school, though. :(

I answered yes to many, so I am here. Hi!
Hooray! Welcome!

I dunno, man. I was planning on no e ven looking at the F&G menus this year, and just winging it for once. But I GUESS I could be convinced to over-analyze them, then write about it here!

Hello, thank you for de-lurking! I love "meeting" my readers!

Drats! How do we keep DOING this?! We were even there at the same time around this time last year, and we STILL managed to miss one another!

Every time I says "Okay, no more Disney for the next year or so," I book 2-3 more trips. It's an addiction.

It's HARD doing school and work! I keep thinking about reducing my course load, but even at my current rate it's going to take me a minimum of 6 years just to get my bachelor's, nevermind my master's. I'd rather not be in my old age home / retirement community and still taking classes trying to finish my degree!

So excited to see your plans! Welcome back :)
Thank you!

I will definitely pop in!

Glad to see you back! I’ve read many of yout past PTR and trip reports! In fact you are the one who inspired me to try my first solo trip in 2019!

Welcome back Billie! I hear you on the no time to Dis thing, it can be hard sometimes! I just came back to the Dis myself after a long absence. Nothing more motivating than a WDW trip to plan and talk about.

Joining In! Sounds like you have a fabulous (and much deserved) trip planned!

When: May 6-11, 2018

AHH! We're missing each other by two days

live in South Carolina, a mere 5-hour drive from WDW, which makes it WAY too easy to just ditch adulting and responsibilities and stuff, and run away to act like an overgrown toddler 2-3 times a year.

TWO things I love: WDW and Charleston... are you close to Charleston?!

Additionally, last year I started college at the ripe old age of 36 years old, and at 10 credit hours, I'm carrying almost a full-time load. Needless to say, I'm a BUSY girl. As such, my WDW escapades are very much needed!

HOlY busy. Get it, girl!

Following Along... Our last Disney day is May 9th so we will be there around the same time. I love your title :jumping1:

Aww, I love hearing that! Booking your first solo trip is such a bold and brave move, but I promise that afterwards, you will be addicted to it!

Welcome back Billie! I hear you on the no time to Dis thing, it can be hard sometimes! I just came back to the Dis myself after a long absence. Nothing more motivating than a WDW trip to plan and talk about.
Exactly! I'm even hesitate to say "I'm back" because that just seems so committal. I'm more going with "I'm going to make my best effort to visit more often, no pressure!"

AHH! We're missing each other by two days
I'm missing so many people!!!

TWO things I love: WDW and Charleston... are you close to Charleston?!
Yes, just 1.5 hour south of Charleston. I actually live there for a couple of years waaaaaaay back when I made my first attempt at college, when I was fresh out of high school!

Following Along... Our last Disney day is May 9th so we will be there around the same time. I love your title :jumping1:
It's funny because it's TRUE!
