They just reported on a local news station that it is estimated that this years gay days will bring over 100 million dollers to the local Orlando area.

WOW!

And here in lies the real reason Disney will never say "No more Gay Days," no matter who protests.

Since WDW doesn't sponsor the gathering in any way, they'd be hard pressed to try and prevent it.

The amount of dollars spent is incredible. It'd be neat if everyone could do the old political saw, and stamp "gay money" or "lesbian dollars" on each dollar spent.

Kinda hard to do with a credit card though. :teeth:

While they do not officially support it, they do rent Typhoon Lagoon and Disney MGM Studios to Gay Days events, which they could easily stop, but do not.

They could also prevent subtle things like "Red Pride" drinks at PI and "rainbow window displays" in Magic Kingdom if they wanted to do so.

Yeah, that and the fact that it's the GAYEST place on earth!!! I tried convincing my wife of this before our first trip there together.

So there we were walking down Main Street USA when the song made famous by none other than Judy Garland (The Trolly Song) starts playing...which was followed by a procession of the gayest "Dandies" either of us had ever seen.

It was at that moment that she "got it"

True, true on all counts!

The only thing that I know that Disney does that really gets under my skin is prevents same gendered couples from having any sort of committment ceremony, or the like on their property.

I called to ask about it and was told firmly that it is not allowed and if any Cast Members see any sort of ceremony involving same gendered couples they are under instructions to escort the couple off the property.

That really hurt my feelings for some weird reason. :confused3

At any rate, The Family coming to town this year seriously did bring in some revenue! :)

I'm surprised to hear that. Weddings are big business for Disney. Why wouldn't they take gay peoples' money?
