Totally agree. My boys would never do this. I would consider it a failure in my parenting if they did.
I can't even begin to imagine my reaction if my son ever let out with some cat calls. He might never see the light of day again.

Whistling and catcalling by boys is pretty normal behavior for boys and men. Not I even in the same league as sexual harassment.
At first, I was uncomfortable with the thank you as I honestly felt it was merely adding relevant information that is important for the understanding with people's decision making over time. And I felt that it was being overlooked on the first go around.
And then I came to my senses and will just say ---- you're welcome LadyOfDunBroch.

Dear God....
I also heard the NYT had the story back in 04 and chose not to go with it.Are you sure you didn't confuse the NYT with a different part of the media?
The Times wrote a 2 part story on Mr. Weinstein's recent accusers and essentially broke the story.
Going to double check but pretty sure they also reported on the Italian actress/model who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct at a NYC hotel some years back.
I have problems including members of the blended Farrow-Allen family in any discussion of sexual abuse.
When I think of the term dysfunctional family a picture of them pops into my head, completely unbidden, LOL.
There is a certain amount of hypocrisy, and a whiff of sexism and mendacity involved in the charges Ms. Farrow leveled against Mr. Allen. She became involved with Frank Sinatra in her teens but felt that her adopted daughter, Soon Yi, should do as she says as opposed to what she herself did. She has recently proclaimed that one of her sons listed as belonging to Mr. Allen is in fact the child of Mr. Sinatra....which to me says she can lie on many different levels for decades on end when it suits her purposes. Various authorities dismissed the charges against Mr. Allen during an acrimonious totally in the public eye divorce proceeding. Anddddd he was a complete fool to think Ms. Farrow wouldn't be hurt by his turning his affections to her daughter.
I get the hurt Ms. Farrow felt over the relationship between her formerly DD and former lover and father of some of her children but think she turned as many vulnerable children still in her care against him with mind games. Someday an opera will probably be written about this family. If as I believe Ms. Farrow is at the bottom of the obvious hurt some members of this family still feel I hope she sleeps well at night but doubt she truly does.
Finally, reading the biographies of various people, I have found that you can be talented and far seeing in certain aspects of your life and completely sub human in others. I appreciate those artists who can channel some parts of their being into sheer genius but are arses at home. Sounds like everyday people to me. And yes, that was a Sly Stone reference whose music I love but living in a broken down "I am homeless" van with or even getting married to him @ Madison Sq Garden would nevah be me.
The past was telling of his future as it currently stands.

And I thought it was the New Yorker magazine that broke it now.

I lived "down the road" from the Farrow apartment until recently and can't say I've aware of any over-riding belief in her story by local law enforcement or the DA's office. Recently sold my apartment but found that the neighborhood either didn't care much about the long ago case or were as divided as much of the general populace on the outcome. The gossiping doormen, dog walkers, cleaning ladies and nannies ( Yes. They talk about us...allllll of us so don't fergit to tip in December, ) don't speak too well of her. I also watched her pull an entitled act at a local restaurant that made me wonder...perhaps a bit too much. The ex and I had an acrimonious divorce (thankfully not in the local tabloids) and I would like to root for Mia just out of solidarity BUT well she's out and out lied too frequently. That whole Ronan/Satchel birth story was a tad telling even if she doesn't see it that way and I can't forget Dory Previn's writing a song about her. This was not a downtrodden powerless "lil" woman up against an influential man with the cards stacked against her..this was 2 institutions duking it out during a child custody case. This is a little harsh. I live in this area and police and prosecutors thoroughly believed Dylan Farrow. Just because her mother is a hot mess is not a reason to write them off. Pedophiles and sex assaulters actually seek out dysfunctional situations for a better chance to get away with this. I was prepared to see Ronan Farrow as a privileged child only on TV for his connections, but I am surprisingly impressed. He's well spoken and respectful, a Yale law grad and Oxford Rhodes scholar, and kept pushing a story that could have killed his career and effected the careers of his parents. Also...plenty of pioneers in fighting sex abuse including police, advocates, the most famous sketch artist, and FBI profilers were or are related to victims of sex abuse. If that is what drove them to be so passionate against this, that's fine. Pushing them aside because of it is very shortsighted.
Just to clarify the New Yorker and New York Magazine are 2 separate magazines.https://www.google.com/amp/amp.slat...how_she_broke_the_harvey_weinstein_story.html
NYT & NYM ran stories pretty close together, but NYT might have it on technicality.
They mention the Sharon Waxman 2004 story in the interview as well.
Here is a statement from the NYT on it:

Putting that to the side, I don't doubt that her children are intelligent and well educated people which doesn't change my belief that she helped mightily to divide her children between those who think Mom was right, those who think Dad was right, oh and the one(s) who just want to have have a peaceful Thanksgiving meal with the entire clan. Soon Yi has remained quiet about the entire affair despite being basically disowned by the woman who brought her up and gets her own little corner.
So who is Mia? The self effacing mother who will do anything to protect her children (well as long as they don't steal her man?) or Electra?
The child-woman that stole 2 other womens' husbands and apparently had a song or 2 written about at least one relationship's affect on a wife or a woman who learned from her life's mistakes?
I think both adults were idiots but see Ms Farrow as allowing her wants and needs to re write and overwhelm that of her children.
JMO and I hope before either of the adults leave this Earth that their children can come to some reconciliation at least among themselves if not with those who raised them.
It's not a crime if it as been investigated by various authorities (CT and NYS/NYC) and found to be without merit. It's an alleged crime in the minds of those who believe Ms. Farrow's narrative; I don't.What makes you think the general populace would have any type of insight at all in a crime that is notorious for being he said/she said and taking place entirely behind closed doors? Families notoriously bury their heads in the sand regarding molestation.
Eh, I'm sure gossip and innuendo is the best way to get at the heart of the matter.
When I'm out running and a guy whistles at me I don't consider that sexual harassment. If my boss did it or wanted something in return for a promotion that would be what I would consider sexual harassment. I guess we all have are own tolerance level. I would consider teen boys whistling in a play to be rude and immature, but they are not in a position of power over anyone. Are you kidding? It is sexual harassment and it’s no where near normal behavior.

It's a primo case of she said, he said, with the children suffering the consequences.
As for the opinions of the nabe's yentas? Ahhhh..they talk whether it's true or not, and I acknowledged that.
Just two talented people with screwy personal lives and although I enjoy their bodies of work, wild horses wouldn't allow me to get involved with either on such a deeply personal level.
It's still not the definition of sexual harassment.'Cuz boys will be boys, right? No harm, no foul after all.
It starts somewhere. Whistling and catcalling is simply at the top of the slippery slope, still part of the same trajectory.
Wounded birds are exactly the prey predators seek out.
