Has anyone cruised on Vision of the Seas?

I have a few questions.

Where can I get ice?

Is there an indoor theater for movies? Like Buena Vista Theater.

Are there food options late at night?

Is the embarkation procedure similar to Disney?

Thanks!

I sailed on the Vision of the Seas about 3.5 years ago. So I might not remember where the ice is or if there was an inside theater (looking those things up on on a website map will answer those questions), but I do recall the cruise overall. It was TERRIBLE!

This is one of the oldest and smallest ships that Royal Carribean has. More importantly, the passengers on our cruise nicknamed it "the ship that Royal Carribean forgot". If you have ever cruised before prepare to be extremely disappointed. Late night food? Not a chance. The best you find is one employee working a line in a remote corner of an upper deck dishing out old remnants until 10pm. Entertainment? Service? Not good at all. Perhaps these are the employees on probation or the lowest level because they were very unattentive and not that good when they were attentive.

I had found this ship/cruise listed at a deep discount while I was planning to treat a friend to a girl's trip cruise for her birthday. I spent the entire time apologizing and saying over and over that..." I swear, don't judge cruising by this trip!" The most common activity that cruisers did while encountering each other in lines was to gripe about how terrible the trip has been. Even though I am usually a positive person, I couldn't help but agree with them.

If you have sailed with Disney before and have gotten used to THEIR service (I haven't had the pleasure yet, but it sounds like you have) you are going to be super disappointed. I have traveled on RC before (a number of times) and always loved it. THIS? Nowhere close to their normal/higher quality.

My suggestion is to change reservations now.

Wow. My experience could not be more different. Except for the fact that we ran into horrid weather and all the smokers were forced to go inside to the casino, and the casino is right off the Centrum, and the Centrum slowly (over a day and a half) started filling with smoke, it was a nice cruise.

Lots of stuff going on in the Centrum, like dance classes etc (which thrilled my son as he's an extroverted dancer), scrapbooking, jewelry making, trivia. I loved their Schooner Bar as it was NOT off the casino like on the bigger ships, and I could actually enjoy the ambiance (I am drawn to that bar!).

We had one of the then-brand new, then-called panoramic view rooms, and we loved it.

I don't know about food because we don't eat late at night generally.

Ask your room attendant to bring you ice! Easy.

I don't remember anything about a theater; I don't go on a cruise to watch movies, so it's not my thing. :)

It's too bad one negative post might have sent you away. We loved the cruise and would do it again. But would hope for good weather. :)
