I have been to both wdw and dl many times and had many wonderful thoughtful Cms go out of their way for my family, but never once did I think to go to city hall/ guest services and file a compliment. It turns out that if you do then Disney recognizes this by giving the cm a nice Certificate / award in a binder type thing and it even includes what you write down about the cm. Disney says it’s actually really rare for guest compliments to come in. I did not know this until recently and I wish I could go back and do that for all of them.
I say we should all start taking time to go fill one out for those Cms that do make our days a little more magical. They work for minimum wage in all kinds of weather and put up with a lot from rude guest yet they still smile and try to make our trips better in anyway they can.

Yes I have been doing this for the past few years. Each day when I am on rides or in shops or just walking around I try to be very aware of the CM's and their interactions with or other people. The one that stands out the most for that day I make sure to go to City Hall and do a CM compliment before I leave the park.

I would definitely love to file a compliment on a CM who gives me a very positive Disney experience. Unfortunately, I did not notice any CM who did that to me or my family during our trip 2016. Hopefully I would be lucky enough to meet one of these Disney-like CMs during our upcoming trips in the summer. But again, we usually go in the summer and the heat is not helping.

If you have Twitter, it’s fun to recognize them there. You can send thank you messages through Walt Disney World Resort’s Twitter account using #CastCompliment. They even Tweet back pictures of Cast Members holding the original Tweets!

Yes! This is the best way of doing it! Then you have more good memories of your trip, seeing those photos.

Yes! We recently did this during our post-Christmas trip to EPCOT (honestly most of the CMs we interacted with that day were amazing). The Guest Services CMs love it when guests do this too. Makes for a welcome break from all the complaining.

I've done it a few times. A few years ago, we were selected for the first safari ride of the day at AK. The CM was fabulous to take us into the park early and point out many interesting features of the park and the plants before taking us on the safari ride. As we left the park that day, we stopped at GR and wrote up a thank you and compliment.

I was also told to compliment CMs at restaurants by talking to their managers, usually the person in plain clothes with an ear piece. I did this at Rose & Crown for a fabulous server. When she saw us talking with her manager, she got nervous and wondered why we were doing that. Then she found out that we were complimenting her, and she was thrilled.

On my last trip a few weeks ago, my friend made sure to stop at GR to compliment a CM, but I can't even remember why.

I sent in 2 guest compliments this past January via email. I wish I could find that email address again. I may just have to break down and get Twitter so I can send them that way.

When I worked in WDW in 2009, anyone who got a guest compliment card would be entered in a drawing for some kind of prize. I don't know if they still do that.

One word of caution: if a CM breaks the rules for you and you compliment them on it, they can get in trouble. I mean, they shouldn't be breaking the rules regardless of cause, but....

I've used twitter #CastCompliment too! I was very happy to get a response hearing they passed message to the CM. They also sometimes respond with a picture of the particular CM holding a thank you note with the tweet on it.

I've sent compliments in by email, specifically a cast member that helped me out at the contemporary when I had trouble checking in for my airline. Not only did she let me use the computer behind the counter, she also adjusted our fast pass time so we would make it on time!

I've done it several times. I've written out the cards at the parks or sent in an email after I was home.

I've written a thank you letter to a customer service agent I spoke with both prior and during my trip over the phone.

I wish I would of know about this back in 2008. We were at the crystal palace for lunch w my family. I was wearing nice white shorts when all of a sudden...my cycle decided to start a few days earlier then normal. Aaahhh.. I didnt bring a change of clothes since I was like 35! Lol. We were just sitting down to eat also. Ugh..horrible horrible experience and timing. So my darling soon to be husband escorted me to the bathroom, talked to a cm..n long story short..she gave me a gift certificate..no amount..to go anywhere I wanted to buy a change of clothes!! That was the best experience at a worst time. They can be awesome and deserve to be acknowledged by disney!! Hopefully I wont be in that situation again!!

are the security people disney employees? we had a bag checker at magic kingdom last july that was fantastic.he made the whole process fun and really teased my daughter, had us all laughing. I regret not trying to compliment him but wasn't sure if they were contracted out(the uniform threw me off)

Security is definately a part of it all.

I absolutely have. April of last year before our reservation at the Aquarium restaruant in Epcot, I began feeling a little rough probably due to dehydration and lack of eating. We went inside and I sat down on the floor, as they were a bit busy while we waited to be seated. While my boyfriend stepped away to get me some water, a friendly hostess stopped to make sure I was alright, since apparently I looked pretty rough! She ended up coming back unprompted with an icepack and later a bowl of rolls and a knife and butter just to make sure I was okay and cooling off. She was so observant and thoughtful in the chaos that is hosting, and it really, really helped me feel better inside and out. I made it a point to ask our server to bubble my gratitude up, and she brought me a form that I filled out thanking her.

Julie, if you're out there, I didn't forget how great you made my night at Epcot!

I have stopped in at guest services to complete a compliment card. I have also sent an email to guest services after eery trip and have included the names of CM's who have made a difference in our trip experience. Frankly, I believe the CM's are the reason most people who return do return, and do my best to make sure that DIsney knows that. I can go to dinner, ride a roller coaster, and sleep anywhere. I cannot find any place where the people who work there are so invested in my experience that their behavior is intertwined in my vacation experience to the extent that when I picture an attraction, the CM is part of that experience. SHoot, even MK security is so good at their job that they could make two old gals who were finishing cocktails by the water before entering feel less embarrassed that they did not knwo that they were breaking Disney rules. (I swear I thought that I could finish my beverage outside the gates! LOL!)

DIsney needs to knwo this and hopefully they compensate their staff for the good work they do in maintaining the level of service we all expect from WDW.

Absolutely! After far too many poor experiences with phone CMs, I spoke with an amazing one who was not only incredibly knowledgable, but went out of her way to find us the best deals. I now only call her directly as I trust her implicitly. I made sure to send emails to the cast compliment address. Oftentimes people only take the time to air grievances and write complaints, so I feel it is equally important to let management know when their staff is doing a great job.
