Having Annual Passes means infinite Disney trips, right? *COMPLETED* 6/5 California Grill Brunch

I also need to try BOG for dinner. We love breakfast but hate lunch. Maybe we will try dinner next time. Your pasta looks great. I would live to try it. Lobster sauce? Yum!

The dinner is a complete different experience from breakfast and lunch. My dish was really good. The lobster sauce had a hint of lobster flavor I guess, not really too much. It was slightly spicy, but really good and paired well with the shrimp and scallops.

I am looking forward to your review of Ohana dinner. I have one planned for my February trip.
I'm going to try and post my Ohana review tomorrow morning. Spoilers...the meal was amazing, you're going to love it. I can't wait to go back myself.

Trip 2 - 8/18-8/20
Ohana Dinner

Sunday was our last day of our short weekend trip, but knowing we'd be back in two weeks made the day not so sad. I reminded my boyfriend of a conversation we had overheard back in May on the bus to Magic Kingdom. This couple sitting in front of us was talking about how they'd be back in a couple weeks so they didn't need to rush to see everything. At the time I thought that was crazy how they'd be back so quickly and made a joke to my boyfriend about how he was lucky I wasn't making him do that. Well...that didn't last long :rotfl:

We were spending the day at Magic Kingdom and having a very early dinner at Ohana, so we decided to drive to the park so we could leave right after eating. I can't remember the last time I drove to the Magic Kingdom, we parked in the Heroes lot in Simba. It was fun taking the monorail to the park and I'm always amused how people rush towards the middle compartments of the monorail. We went to the very front and there was almost no one in it, and we had passed compartments that were so stuffed with people they could barely breathe.

We had an early Fast Pass for the Seven Dwarfs Train Ride so we went to that first, then we circled back to Starbucks so I could get some coffee and breakfast. My boyfriend had gotten a pop-tart out of the vending machine at the hotel.

Starbucks was packed and it was pretty late morning when we went in there. It was also really hot, I don't think the A/C was on very high.

upload_2017-8-28_7-29-37.png

While waiting for my drink to be made I took a picture of my breakfast sandwich. I got what I had had the day before, a toasted croissant with ham, swiss cheese and an egg. It was really good and I ate it all before I even got my coffee.

upload_2017-8-28_7-31-3.png

Nothings better than sipping on cold coffee in front of Cinderella's Castle. I got my usual caramel macchiato.

Our dinner reservations were at 3:45pm at Ohana so we had all morning to get in lots of rides. The park was really crowded, but I was working fast pass magic and managed to modify our fast passes to be immediate and kept getting new ones while we were in line. We didn't ride anything standby and by 2 we were ready to go relax and get out of the sun. So we decided to head over to the Polynesian early. Which was good because we waited for the boat for a ridiculously long time. One showed up after a while and then left without anyone or any explanation, which caused a lot of people in line to complain. Eventually another boat came, but I think I'll stick with the monorail. We watched five go back while we waited for this boat. My boyfriend really wanted a relaxing scenic boat ride, which it did turn out to be.

A view of the Polynesian from our boat.

We were really early for our reservations so we decided to have the famous Dole Whip while we waited. The Polynesian and the Magic Kingdom are the only two locations at Disney World you can get it.

upload_2017-8-28_7-37-14.png

I got a swirl with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. The coldness of it really helped cool me down since it was soooo hot out.

upload_2017-8-28_7-38-20.png

My boyfriend got the same swirl. After we ate these in the lobby we decided my boyfriend should go and get the car and move it to the Polynesian parking lot so we could leave quicker after dinner. So I got to relax in the lobby while he went and did this :)

So, silly me, I thought with a dinner reservation of 3:45pm the place would be dead and we'd be all by ourselves. At home I'd never eat dinner that early, but it was the only time available at 180 days out and I had grabbed it and never was able to modify it. The place opens at 3:30pm and as we made our way upstairs there was a huge line of people waiting to check in.

After checking in we were given a pager and told to wait over by these couches next to the restaurant. It took about ten minutes for this to go off.

I was a little nervous about this meal. I had read some really great reviews of this place, but also some really horrible reviews. One consistent this is that they always run behind, so having such an early reservation worked out in our favor since the restaurant wasn't full yet. I could understand why it gets backed up. We never felt rushed to leave and ended up spending an hour and a half here and our waiter was trying to bring us more and more food.

upload_2017-8-28_7-44-50.png

First thing we were given their pineapple bread. This was warm and delicious and the butter went great with it. We ended up getting a second loaf while we waited for our food to arrive.

Ohana Dinner Continued

Ohana is an all you can eat family style restaurant. So, unlike a buffet where you go up and get your food, you are brought food to your table continuously in large shareable portions. You can ask for more of anything and they will keep bringing you food until you tell them you're full.

upload_2017-8-28_7-47-53.png

The view from our table was great. We were right up against a window and looked out over the main pool. While we waited for our food this was pretty entertaining. There was a kid who was filling a bucket with water and dumping it on people's heads while they walked by underneath.

upload_2017-8-28_7-49-20.png

First up was the salad. Shortly after the guy put this on our table he took it back because he noticed it was missing a lot of the ingredients.

upload_2017-8-28_7-50-13.png

He quickly replaced it with the above salad, which you can see there are peppers and mushrooms included. I'm not sure what else was missing. The salad was good, could have probably used more dressing, but I enjoyed it.

upload_2017-8-28_7-51-23.png

They brought out dipping sauces for the meat they were going to bring around. The one closest to me was a peanut sauce and delicious. The other sauce was a sweet and sour sauce that I didn't use.

upload_2017-8-28_7-52-38.png

The second dish they brought out was great and one of my favorite parts of the meal. There were potstickers that were delicious and I dipped those into the peanut sauce. In the middle are noodles that were in a sauce, not sure what it was exactly, but I really liked these. It also came with chicken wings, neither of us ate these. I don't like food that's on a bone and my boyfriend thought they tasted bad. I had a couple vegetables to make the dish more healthy ::yes::

upload_2017-8-28_7-55-1.png

Here's a picture of our waiter Brandon serving us steak. One side was cooked well done the other side was a medium. I like my meat cooked more so I had the well done pieces and really liked them. I had heard a few people ask for this so I think they just started bringing it around after the first round. I didn't take pictures, but they also brought shrimp and chicken. I liked the shrimp, but they are still in their shells and have to be peeled. A task I gave to my boyfriend. I didn't like the chicken it just tasted weird.

We ended up getting a second plate of just the noodles and after a while we decided we were stuffed and it was time for dessert. I had heard things about their famous dessert. And OMG they were right. It was probably the best dessert ever and I'd go back just for this.

‘Ohana Bread Pudding à la mode topped with Caramel Sauce and Bananas

upload_2017-8-28_7-58-3.png

It comes with a caramel sauce, which our waiter poured on for us.

upload_2017-8-28_8-0-2.png

We were both really full and still managed to devour this. I think next time I'll save a little more room so we can have a second helping of this. I don't think I've ever been so full from a meal before and we really didn't eat much before this.

upload_2017-8-28_8-1-19.png

Our waiter also brought us the kids dessert. Brownie with a Marshmallow Topping and M&M's.
This was terrible and I took one bite and put the rest down. Definitely not worth the calories. It tasted store bought and yuck. It was sweet of him to bring these to us though.

So that was my amazing meal at Ohana for dinner. This place is fantastic and so filling. I would not recommend eating much of anything before going here. I also liked the really early time after all. I don't think I'd feel comfortable if it had been late at night. One thing I'll try to never do again is go here right before going home. We were in a car for four hours after this meal and it was not comfortable being that full. Also got stuck in stand still traffic for an hour due to an accident, which made it a little worse.

But this place was great and I recommend it to everyone. The food is delicious, we had great service and I can't wait to go back. It's a really hard reservation to get so make sure to try as early as possible (180 days is best) to get in here for dinner.

I'm going back to Disney this weekend so I'll have more reviews coming to you all shortly :wave2:

Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal there!! We love that place and always look forward to returning. I normally do not eat all day we go early so we can walk it off lol.

I haven't been to Ohana in years. I missed it, but my hubby would rather go somewhere for a good steak dinner for the price. I must convince him to come back!

Thank you for the review! Now I can hardly wait for February to arrive. But I don't want it to get here too fast as I have a trip in December first! :-)

:) I can't wait to go back. I think the earlier dinner works perfectly with this place since it's so much food.

You definitely need to go back. Tell him how he can get his steak and so much more here.

The dilemma with multiple trips. You're going to have a great time :)

We haven't been to 'Ohana in a few years but I do remember loving this bread :goodvibes

First up was the salad. Shortly after the guy put this on our table he took it back because he noticed it was missing a lot of the ingredients.
Wow, quite a difference between this salad and the one they brought back with all the ingredients! Good thing someone noticed, even though it still seemed to need more dressing.

There were potstickers that were delicious and I dipped those into the peanut sauce. In the middle are noodles that were in a sauce, not sure what it was exactly, but I really liked these.
Besides the bread the potstickers and noodles were my favorite part of this meal. I don't eat shrimp and I thought the chicken and steak were just ok, so I filled up on the potstickers and noodles (and bread)!

. I don't think I'd feel comfortable if it had been late at night.
OMG, the first time we ate here we could only get an 8:15 reservation. Never again! We were full until like, midnight and couldn't go to sleep. SO miserable :crazy2:
Enjoy your trip this weekend, looking forward to more reviews :)

I agree the meat is only so/so there, but I could just go back for that bread ::yes::
I was still full before I went to sleep hours later, I could only imagine for you.
Thanks I'll be posting soon :)

I realized from reading a few dining reports I should have welcomed you all to my dining report. So it's a little late, but I'm welcoming you now :)

:welcome:

how exciting! looking forward to your dining reports!

6 TRIPS!!!!! As in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6!!! This I gotta eat along with. Can't wait to get started

Omg gurl, you are living your best life right here. 6 TRIPS??!?!? Amazing.

Following along! I need to live vicariously through you til I move to FL and can go more than once a year!
:)

My boyfriend got the Falafel Burger. From the menu online: Sun-dried Tomato Hummus, Garlic Yogurt, and Cucumber, on a Brioche Bun with a choice of side.
I had that falafel burger last Saturday night and loved it! So filling and delicious, I got the couscous salad as my side but I couldn't resist a serving of the butternut squash soup too. Yum!

The Happily Ever After fireworks were AMAZING. I don't think I've ever been so blown away by fireworks before. It was something really special watching them from in front of the Castle and it was just so good! My mouth was open in awe the entire time.
That was seriously the most amazing experience ever! I sobbed like a baby from about 1/2 way through right until the end.

He quickly replaced it with the above salad, which you can see there are peppers and mushrooms included. I'm not sure what else was missing. The salad was good, could have probably used more dressing, but I enjoyed it.
I LOVE that salad!

This is my favourite part of the meal too. Love the potstickers and that peanut sauce is to die for!!

‘Ohana Bread Pudding à la mode topped with Caramel Sauce and Bananas
My favourite thing ever! I have the recipe for this and make it at home when I am homesick for Disney.

Looks like a great meal at Ohana. Can't wait to hear all about your upcoming trip!

Ok, I may have to add Ohana to our next trip!! It looks so good.

I saw many other people given a Lumiere to hold as they walked to their table, but we didn't get one when we were escorted in.

Glad you enjoyed BOG--I've always enjoyed my dinners there, though I'm with you. Never gotten the Lumiere, and not sure how they determine who gets it.

Can you make some for me too? LOL. I also got a little teary eyed watching those fireworks.

It was :) I'll be posting soon. I have a lot of pictures.

Following along and all caught up! What fun trips!!! I can't wait to read more...

You should definitely consider going to Ohana, that place is amazing.

Trip 3 - 9/2-9/4
Victoria and Albert's

I'm back from my third trip to Disney. This was a unique weekend since it involved my parents and an off-site hotel stay. It was a lot of fun, not as hot as my last trip, but more crowded probably because of the Labor Day holiday. I have a lot of pictures for this post and with the ten picture limit I'm going to have to do this in a lot of mini segments.

I talked my dad into going to Victoria and Albert's after talking endlessly about how it is my absolute favorite meal and he needed to try it. Originally we were just going to drive up to go to this dinner, which was why we decided on an off-site stay. Then I realized it was a holiday weekend and I didn't have to work on Monday so we ended up spending a few days in the parks as well.

upload_2017-9-5_7-45-26.png

My kitty Remmi. She was not happy to see suitcases and decided she was coming with me.

We stayed at the Marriott World Center hotel, which is located just outside of the Disney property. As a kid I had stayed there many times and I love that they have glass elevators that go inside and outside all the way to the 28th floor.

upload_2017-9-5_7-47-32.png

One upside to staying off property is getting a guaranteed king bed. We also stayed on my boyfriend's points so it didn't really cost any money. Our room was on the 25th floor and had an amazing view of the pool and both Hollywood Studios and Epcot fireworks.

upload_2017-9-5_7-48-50.png

My parents were also staying in this hotel, so we all drove together to go to dinner. There seemed to be some sort of accident once we got into Disney because the road to get to the Grand Floridian was backed up and not moving. So we decided to drive around the back of Magic Kingdom to get there. It was also raining, but the hotel has a covered area to pull up your car so we didn't get wet.

upload_2017-9-5_7-56-40.png

When you dine at Victoria and Albert's the valet is included.

upload_2017-9-5_7-57-21.png

The restaurant is located on the second floor next to Citricos.

upload_2017-9-5_7-57-59.png

The only way to get through these frosted doors is with a reservation. We had a 5:30pm reservation for their first seating, so we had to wait in the lobby for the restaurant to actually open.

A lady came out to greet the people waiting and soon after we were escorted inside and to our table. We had a nice view of the harpist who played throughout the evening.
