Is anyone talking about Florida visitors quarantine for NY, NY & CT?

I live in NY- not the city, but not upstate. We had an April cruise cancelled as well as a Memorial Day trip and now will most likely not go for our June trip beginning the 9th so on to our July 4th trip! I haven't heard any reports of what happens to those flying in from these states after they leave the airport and I just have to assume that once the parks open/Florida is in phase 2/or at least phase 3, this will end. CT opens Wednesday, all of us are opening our beaches for Memorial weekend, half of NY began phase 1 yesterday.

I do remember reading somewhere on the boards, possibly a post by @yulilin3 ? And the post said that it's basically an "honor system". Residents of those states flying in are asked to fill out a form with certain info like where they're from, where they're going, how long they're staying I think and asked to go directly to their destination. I believe there were a few reports of people getting follow up calls asking if they were showing any symptoms? I honestly don't know how else this would be monitored. Are they putting police detail on every person flying in from these states? Putting a tracking device on our phones? Not really making light of it but I have to think it IS more of an honor system. Still I'll worry about it once Disney opens and I know which trip we're going on

it is an honor system no police escort or tracking device. They do call you a couple of time through out the 14 days

Ha ha thanks! I didn't really thinks so and I would much prefer it just be lifted before we go! Just a bit disconcerting to think about what we'd be met with at the airport so for now we'll just hope things keep moving in the right direction for everyone!

No tracking devices That would get a tad pricey, I would think. A friend from NYC is living with my sister until 6/25 (or longer if she doesn't feel safe going home) in Fernandina Beach. She got two phone calls and one visit during quarantine. I'm not sure everyone gets a visit, but that's a tiny town and I suppose the police aren't that busy. Of course she stayed in compliance and is now happily enjoying the beach every day.

We can not afford 2 weeks in a non-Disney hotel with food (even though it would be a nice place to relax from work)
and a 1 week stay in a Disney resort with food and tickets.
3 weeks of hotels is too much for our budget - unless we win the lottery

Earlier today DeSantis banned short term rentals to residents of the state of NY. It does not have an expiration date. Not included were residents of NJ, CT, or LA.
I dont believe it applies to hotels or resorts.

How is Florida going to manage to all the “outbreaks” they will get when the thousands of Floridians coming to NY right now come back in the fall? Will they need to report their trip to someone in the Florida government upon returning and not leave their home for 14 days? There are so many people from Florida here in NY and not quarentining and mingling w their social groups. We New Yorkers have been quarantined since March have been on a decline while others have not. Do you see how ridiculous this all is? I was really happy to see Floridians suing because of not being able to rent their vacation rentals. I think DeSantis is doing this strictly because NY has a democratic Governor. This is all my opinion of course.

No, I meant all the Floridians who come to NY just for summer months and head back to Florida in October. There are A LOT that come here during summer in Florida. Anyhow, It makes me really sad that Desantis makes travel ban for all of Ny. I am not a person who can lie or be dishonest. So I’m not going to sneak around system. But I’m nowhere near NYC. He even is letting people from CT and NJ rent vacation rentals now. I don’t think it’s going to do anything at all, but I just plan on writing his office to say it should read NYC area (JFK or others). Not Rochester, Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, etc. NY big state we all aren’t in city.

Sorry,I think you mean snowbirds that winter here. Wait for when more phases are implemented. The ban is temporary unless there is a surge in cases.

NY tri state is a small portion of counties in the state. To say the whole state while using tri state area doesn’t go together.

You emailed the wrong person unless you are a Fl resident and vote here. Being upset because you want to go to WDW ( still closed) is not a reason to email Gov. DeSantis and you are not being discriminated. The order is temporary and could be canceled at any time. You should email your Governor for more info. BTW...Pence and DeSantis are meeting today in Orlando and the Orange County Task Force is meeting as I type.
