Is free dining worth it for us?

I have CBR booked for 14 nights with the gift card.

$4646.45 FD cost
-1379.20 cost of tickets to be upgraded
3267.25 Subtotal
-1050.00 Gift Card CBR
2217.25 out of pocket cost 140 QSDP credits

Now here is the thing: we are moving to the Poly for an 11 night stay. We don't necessarily NEED 18 nights in Disney and honestly, that is a bit long even though we will be doing Universal as well.

I went back over my spending records from previous trips.

9 nights (6 of us) $463 + $250 TS
7 nights (4 of us) $373 + $58 TS

So there is no question that if I wanted the meal plan that the FD would be the way to go. But, is it really simply TOO MUCH FOOD for the way that we eat? I already have AP so I don't need the tickets for this trip.

Boy that CBR is making me nervous!!

I would sit down and look at room only prices, if there are any discounts and stacking them with discounts at places like Orbitz, you might come out ahead that way without FD. Free dining gives you a room at rack rate. If it's too much food for you and not the way you normally eat, I'd say if you can get a room only discount, no it's probably not for you.
