Jan 14-21st/2017- Star Wars Eastern cruise for the non Star Wars crowd! COMPLETED!!!

This is who my girls ended up battling - WHO is she????

Seventh Sister. She is an Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels, the cartoon series. She hunts Jedi. Yep, family of boys and fortunately I really do like Star Wars because I'm immersed in it!

Looks like a very fun Star Wars day! I hope someday to take the boys on a Star Wars cruise, but it looks like their first will be a "boring" old cruise. LOL! They'll have to deal! ;)

Thank you! Gah, that was bugging me :worship: Even my husband couldn't remember who she was o_O

Aaah, I just caught up on your TR! I have not been on the cruise boards forever. I will write more later, but hopefully you had a chance to use the RF passes before the end of the cruise! It HAS to be the next day, right? LOL.
Your SWDAS looks like a good blend of SW and Non-SW activities! I'm glad you guys enjoyed Rogue One!
Tell your hubby he owes you a trip to Louis Vuitton, LOL. Funny story we were on Maui for our first anniversary in 2009 and we parked at the Whaler's village shops. You can get parking for free with validation. My DH thought he'd just go buy a 20 dollar t-shirt but ended up buying me an LV bag as an anniversary present. Most expensive parking fee ever!! :rotfl:

Haha, that's one expensive parking spot!! And yes, he definitely OWES me an LV purse :thumbsup2

As you read, our SWday experience was quite different from yours, lol quite low key :rotfl: Stay tuned to see if those RF passes ever got used!:scratchin

Friday January 20th - Castaway Cay day!

So here it was, our last full day of vacation :rolleyes2 But it was our FIRST visit to Castaway Cay, woohoo!!

Woke up around 7:30am and I could still feel us moving so obviously we were not docked yet. I think all ashore was supposed to be at 9:30am? Anyway, I looked out the sliding door and yep, there was ocean! DH was awake but the girls were still sleeping so I threw on a bra lol and went out on the verandah to see how far we were from CC. It was still a speck in the distance at that point but lots of people were already out on their verandah's . Stayed out there for a bit, went inside for a quick shower then came out again and we were much closer. DH came out for a gander as well, got a bit bored and went back inside :sad2: Weirdo

Now, when I booked us into 5650 (remember I had moved our stateroom at least 3 or 4 times before taking this cruise) I hadn't thought about it being Starboard side but we were so that mean an excellent view of CC!

Eventually the girls awoke, DD8 came outside to look at CC then promptly went back in lol Everyone got dressed and we headed up to Cabana's for breakfast. Our plan was to have a good breakfast and wait about 20-30 minutes after the ship had been cleared to get off so we weren't with a huge hoard of people. This turned out to be a mistake :crazy2:

We saw our friends P and R so they sat next to us for breakfast. We made plans to meet up on CC as they already had of all their stuff with them and were getting off right away. So after breakfast we went back to the cabin and grabbed all our stuff and headed off the ship. Yep, no crowds. Awesome.

A tram came right away and we all got seats. Fabulous start! DH had been studying the map and thought we should get off at the second stop. I had no qualms either way (we had decided not to put the girls into Scuttles Cove, at least not right away. Figured maybe later in the afternoon we would put them in there for a bit).

So we got off at the second tram start and started looking for chairs.

And we looked.

And looked.

AND LOOKED.

:hyper2:

Forget about finding 4 chairs. We couldn't find ONE!!!! :headache:

You know how far we got before we found ONE empty chair? THE END of the family beach.

ONE lousy chair.

Dude we were NOT impressed. But fine....whatever.....it's an island in the Bahama's, we've got towels, the sand is nice and soft. So we hogged the one chair (which was under a palm tree so yay for shade) Put two more towels down, opting to keep two clean for us to dry off. Then the girls and I hit the water while dh perused the map of the island a bit more, deciding if he wanted to snorkel or not.

The air temperature was not super hot, maybe 75F? And the water temperature was a bit chilly :sad2:

Dang, not a great start to our first CC experience.

But hey, here's some lovely photos at least :)

The girls and I grabbed a free inner tube

Looking back I wish DH and I had gone parasailing at CC. Something to think about for next time :flower1:

16142372_10154275677967066_4656619501328415999_n.jpg

Anyway, DH joined us in the water and he also agreed it was rather chilly (but you see how many people were in the water!) so he opted not to snorkel :p So basically we spent most of our time wading around in the water, playing with the girls and such. P and her daughter L found us so we chatted for quite a while as the girls played together. Eventually we got out of the water and watched the kids play. DH went to the nearest bar (which was about 10 feet from our chair haha, so in that respects it was a good location!) grabbed us a yummy alcoholic beverage each and a drink for the girls to share.

It was even more crowded by this point and people we encroaching on our tiny space. Ugh. We were really not super pleased with our CC day at this point.

So around 12:15/12:30 we packed up and went in search of lunch, planning to return to the ship after lunch. Yes I know....we didn't really give CC a chance but to be honest, we were quite bummed at this point.

Our serving team had advised us that CookiesI was a better place to eat than Cookies II (I think that is right?) anyway we walked further down to Cookies II and yes, besides the assorted burgers and hot dogs, they had ribs and bbq chicken and the like. Lunch was really quite good, we were really impressed. Guess there's hope for CC after all :worship:

After lunch we all got some ice cream and then perused some of the vendors there.

And found Mt Rustmore!

Along the way to the first tram stop we saw a LOT of empty chairs. Dang it. So either (a) we should have gotten off at the first tram stop or (b) we should have left the ship even later!

In hindsight, next time we will get off the ship first thing and we will get off at the first tram stop (or walk it!)

So we got back on the tram and saw this beauty waiting for us.

We had hoped to finally catch Moana as all the other show times during the week had been in conflict with something else. But alas, we arrived back on the ship about 15 minutes after the movie had already started. Never mind, we eventually saw it at home about 2 weeks later :flower1::love:

So we dumped our stuff in the cabin and then hit the pool deck. Which was EMPTY!!! Well there you go....silver lining of a less than stellar CC day meant an empty pool deck. And finally riding the Aqua Duck :worship: Which we did....many times over!

Many ice creams were consumed. Possibly several beverages as well :drinking1 Some more food was procured. The pool deck started getting a bit busier after 3pm. We pulled out of CC during one of the many aqua duck rides (where the wait went from 30 seconds to about 15 minutes ). Nothing beats hearing those lovely horns as you pull away from the gorgeous island!

Anyway, up next: our final meal. But wait, what about the rainforest room? Did we see the final show in the theatre? And what about the final show in the atrium? Lots more coming up! :cheer2:

Wow your CC day sounded so crowded! I think the family beach is definitely the most crowded. On our 2nd time there on the Fantasy we had to get spots on the sand since there were no chairs either. But hey, we were on the beach and it was 30 degrees at home so we weren't complaining. I think we did leave the ship a little later, then got back on earlier than we expected and went to the rainforest room. Hope you do get to go!!! You have to, right? It's your last day!

I'm glad you got to spend some quality time on the pool deck, how nice that it wasn't crowded and nothing beats multiple rides on the aqua duck and lots of free ice cream :)

Bummer to hear how crowded it was but I'm glad you got a good lunch and some solid pool deck time.

Star Wars Day really looks like a blast, my grandson would love it (my husband and son too :rolleyes1)

My biggest pet peeve about the Fantasy is the crowds on FB, if you don't get out there early forget it sadly.

You guys looked like you really had a great vacation otherwise!

Your CC sounds almost exactly like ours! LOL. I also think next time we will walk to the first beach and not get off the ship in such a hurry.

Yuck on the busy beach! Shame that you could see empty chairs on the way back, but at least you had a good time on the pool deck for a while. Can't believe it's almost over already!

Realistically I should have finished this TR a while ago but I've had fun drawing it out, savouring the trip and remembering it, marking time until our next cruise  it is my intention to complete it before the end of this week though :thumbsup2

It's your trip report, you finish it when you want to. :goodvibes ;) The only thing second to the depressing end of a cruise is when you finish the trip report too! :rotfl:

I was shocked to hear about the chair situation because I have been on full ships and always see lots of chairs...and then I see you saw them on your way back. It used to be those would be grabbed first as people didn't think to keep going, but now I think it's the opposite.

Finally got a chance to read up on this guy!!! Hahahaha looks like lots of fun. Your girls are adorable!

Awww yay, thank you for reading :) will really really try to get this completed this week lol Meant to finish last week but it was a rough week :sad2:

Hahaha that's okay! You are much faster at finishing than I am :P I am always shocked when people blast them out so fast haha

Ack! I'm sorry it's taken me a month to update this TR! It's been a busy few weeks around here but I'm finally getting this done.

I forgot to post navigators for our last full day in my last entry so here they are:

Not the best photos, sorry about that o_O

So now we had just left Castaway Cay so it's about - 5pm?DH and I have yet to use our one day rainforest passes (!!!!) and time is tickin' away so we made an executive decision to skip the last show, put the girls in the clubs instead and head to the spa! :thumbsup2

Let me tell you, 6pm on the last night of a cruise is a GREAT time to go to the rainforest room  We had them totally to ourselves. This was our first time using them (first cruise we did the Exotic Rasul which was....interesting :rotfl:). While dh preferred to go between two showers I kept hopping between all of them. Ocassionally someone would walk by to go in or out of the sauna and I got some strange looks as I darted between them all :scratchin Ah well, whatever.

Eventually we left the rainforest and enjoyed a hot tub all to ourselves on the enclosed deck. Heavenly! After another 15-20 minutes of soaking we went to lay on the heated tile loungers; again there were only a couple of other people there so it was so quiet and serene. Eventually we had to pry ourselves off of the loungers as time was marching on (probably close to 7:30 by this point). DH and I split up to change and I had a lovely shower using the products and the BIG shower in the ladies change room :thumbsup2 Except I hadn't brought a change of clothes with me so I ended up leaving my bathing suit on, wearing shorts over top and dripping a bit (I didn't dry my hair there, guess I should have!) back to our cabin  Yeah, I'm classy like that.

Got dressed, picked up the girls and headed to our final dinner at Royal Court. Gave our servers their tip envelopes, eventhough we knew we'd be seeing them once more in the morning at breakfast. Lingered over our last dinner for quite a while (no food photos, sorry!) After dinner the girls decided they didn't want to go to the See Ya Real Soon gathering "but make sure you get lots of photos, mom!!" Uh, ok! So we dropped them both once again at the club and grabbed a last coffee at Vista Cafe. Then it was time for the last gathering!
