Just happened to come across this on eBay in case anyone was doing some last minute shopping....

Wow! I'd love to know the "rest of the story" about this item being up for sale. Like, how did she get to own it? And why is she selling it now? It's just so interesting.

Seriously! Those are some great questions….

All the cars were put up for sale many years later. It's been to The Fort for display a few times.

I have quite a bit of Fort memorabilia, but at 700K, this one is a bit out of my price range, let alone a place to store it.

I have read/been told the owner tried to sell it back to Disney/Fort Wilderness but was turned down.

1. Very interesting.
2. But, my MasterCard does not have a $689,000 limit.
3. Disney has no interest in bringing or buying any back.
4. Same goes for the old 20,000 Leagues submarines.
. . . one is at the water park in WDW.
. . . two are in long-term storage (presumably rusting away)

NOTE:
There are two loco's and one car left in existence. (Bedsides this one.)
One loco and one car were converted from 2-1/2 ft gauge to 3-foot gauge.
They are not running or operable.
They are at the Santa Rosa Valley Railroad.
