We are considering going to Disney during Christmas break. We are trying to decide between Kidani Village and OKW. Suggestions?

If you can get in. . .Kidani. Like OKW just fine, but all of AKL is marvelous. To be fair, the Kidani main building itself isn't as magnificent as Jambo, but it's still lovely, and the rooms are inviting.

I’m an outlier in that I’d go OKW, we do not like the fact there is nowhere to run or walk at all at AKV.
I find VWL in a different place entirely to AKV- it at least has part of the running trail left and the building and atmosphere I find very different to AKV and I much prefer VWL.

Ironically those are the 2 resorts we have stayed at with DS and his family, including our 2 DGDs. Surprisingly, they all agreed that they preferred OKW. After watching the animals for the first couple days at Kidani, they missed the big porch where the whole family could sit outside at OKW. Also, they preferred the casual stroll outside to the bus stop at OKW to the long walk down the hallway at Kidani.

OKW has a larger living room if you are staying in something other than a studio. There are places to walk, and the boat to DS. We love OKW because of the feel, though AKV is nice too. I think they are very different resorts. You really need to look at some videos of the resorts and compare what they have to offer. What we love, you may not.

Thank you all for your suggestions. We were able to book at OKW. AKL did not have availability for the room type we wanted. Hopefully we will get to stay at AKL one day.

Never stayed at either, but this one is easy for me, Kidani.

Agreed. Altough we also did enjoy our OKW trip & were excited to go again this upcoming June(Trip Cancelled) and the vibe and stuff are so overwhelmingly relaxing here, but as the OP stated during Chirstmas(the decorations and stuff are too hard to pass up. I have a 1 day Kidani added on before our Oct/Nov SSr trip, so that'll just be a Travelday/Resort day with the fam...Looking forward to it for sure!!

    Huge Kidani fan.
I'm surprised there was still rooms available for Christmas. Glad it worked for you.
I would keep checking and see if anyhting opens at AKL. Things change and rooms become available.

Jambo. The lobby during Christmas is awesome. Love the size of the OKW 2 bedrooms though.

You know that most of the buildings at OKW don't have elevators, right?

I think you'll be very happy with OKW. No matter which resort you stay in, once you're in your room you see any decorations anyway.

We enjoy spending a day traveling to the other resorts to check out their decorations and gingerbread houses.
