Kids attire at dinner

We're going on the 7 day Magic June 14 and wanted to know what my 2 nephews ages 10 and 6 should wear to dinner. On casual nights is it OK for them to wear dress shorts and Hawaiian shirts? How dressy should they be for formal night?

Disney requests no shorts in the dining room, this applies to children and adults. Infants and toddlers of course would be an exception, but both of these boys are past those stages.

As far as formal night at minimum they should be in dress pants, dress shirt and tie, with dress shoes. JC Penney often ahs sales that you can pick up a smart outfilt with a shirt, tie, vest and pants for under $25. I've seen suits for $25 after Easter as well. Payless and Wal-Mart both have children's dress shoes for around $10.

On Tropical nights shorts and tropical shirts are fine.

Each parent or guardian would be the best judge of what attire is appropriate for our youngest cruisers. Guests who are age 13 or older would probably be most comfortable wearing attire similar to what is recommended above for all the ship's passengers.

You'll find a variety of opinions there; by the end of it, you won't have an answer per se, but you will probably be reassured that whatever is decided, there will be others who have made the same choice! Every child is different, and the parents are the best judges of what is right for their children and still respectful of other guests.
