In Oct/Nov we spent two weeks in Loop 2000. It was our first time staying in that loop. Our site was closest to the comfort stations behind the bus stop.

For the entire first week we were there, there was no hot water in the ladies room and all of us had to take cold showers. The men's showers were fine, according my husband and son.

Many of us called the front office about it, only to find the same thing again the next day. It was only finally fixed when I asked a cleaning lady about it and she radioed her supervisor on the spot. Thankfully I got hot showers for the second week.

While it was our first time in the loop, I had quite a few other women there tell me that it was often a problem in that comfort station, and many of the women knew to just walk to the other one to shower. One person even told me she was there Halloween 2016 and it was cold for a week then. Clearly the problem has been going on for awhile.

So, my question is, has anyone here experienced this? I want to go back to the Fort, and want to camp in the tent loops, but refuse to spend all that money for another week of cold showers. I always request Loop 1500, but did not get it that time. Maybe I should just pay for an upgraded site?

Loop 1700 comfort station was filthy last spring during our March visit. and after repeated complaints it never was anything close to what it should have been.
The front desk apparently has no sway anymore about fixing problems. Perhaps privatizing at Disney has gone too far ?

We have stayed in the 2000 loop several times but have always been close to the CS in the middle of the loop, plenty of hot water.

This is something that I did after a bad experience in the 2000 loop. We pay the little extra for a full site, requested 1600 several times and got it. Nice easy walk to the Meadows. Yes we pay more and the sites are not as big as the 2000 so our tent is a little cramped, not bad though. Give it a try and you will probably never go back to a tent site.

Wow, all of our calls to the front desk were useless, too. I guess catching the cleaning person is the only way to get things done. I have never seen anything but a spotless comfort station, thankfully! It does bum me out that we even have to complain about anything. Disney used to be so on the ball.

I am honestly thinking that is the way to go. We have a pop up that has a full bathroom w/shower in it. If we had a sewer hook-up, I would never bother going to the comfort station at all. Our site on 2000 was much bigger than our previous sites on 1500, but we really don't need that much space.

remember that calling just gets an offsite call center and the Fort probably never got the message. you noticed when you talked to a Fort CM you got results that call did not get

I took your advice and changed to full hook up. Glad there was availability. Actually, there was and I clicked away to change existing reservation, then there wasn't. I went back to make a new reservation and there was 3 categories available for those days. I had to make a new ressie and cancel our old one for fear it would disappear again, but I'm happy to have made this decision. You're probably right that we won't go back to tent sites. It's not that much more money for the week.

I had been given a phone number that supposedly goes directly the Fort front desk. Not sure if that was accurate info 407-824-2727

I have never found one that didn't go to call center and we stay at the Fort even if answered as they were at the Fort. and have always taken these to the front desk before we got on buses at station or to a CM if we saw one near where the problem was. never had long before corrected or at least posted at the site of problem

This is why I posted the actual number. In hopes someone would know if it goes to call center or not. I know that they would answer as if they were Fort Wilderness either way.

I just can't help but think this is an ongoing problem with the hot water since so many people there told me it's like that every time they stay on that loop. Then they will fix it, then it will go back to cold again. It's hard to imagine that so many people would be independently lying, especially with no knowledge that others told me the same thing.

I’ve had that exact problem in 2000 more times than I care to count. I’ve noticed it’s not very consistent though - sometimes switching stalls or even a flushing toilet will result in hot water.

I’ve noticed the change in housekeeping in the past couple of years. There used to be a very nice cast member who would continually keep an eye on the comfort station. Lately I’ve noticed that daytime checks are few and far between (we spend most of our days at the campground). One time I went to the bathroom at 2am and I ran in to the cleaning crew. Very nice people but they were from a contracted service as per their uniforms.
I get why they privatize and use third parties. They do it in the same capacity at the large university where I work but nothing replaces people doing their job with a sense of pride and love for where they work. The third parties do a fine job but when it’s just a “job” and not a “job at a place you love” things get done slightly different.

I was told (and it wasnt confirmed by a bus driver) that the cleaning (or lack of) of the CS happens in the middle of the night.

When you "call" the front office, you're actually talking to someone far away from Disney World, not someone at your resort's front desk. For a maintenance issue at any resort, you should physically find someone to report the problem to (which you did toward the end of your trip) to really get it fixed.

It stinks that calling doesn't help much, but after many WDW resort stays, I have learned this the hard way myself.

This problem was in every stall, unfortunately. I would try them all and would hear the other women, especially trying to shower their children, talking about the freezing water and trying to get clean in spite of it. I do agree that a flushing toilet means you better jump out of the stream of water for a few. o_O During the second week, when there was hot water, it would take away the cold after a toilet flush and scald you.

I honestly didn't notice if the cleaning staff wore uniforms from an independent company or not. All I remember was she wore a light blue shirt and dark blue shorts/pants. I have no complaints about the cleaning, they did an excellent job while we were there and it was the cleaning lady that actually got the hot water fixed for us.

There are likely just as many bad employees, as there are good, so if they outsource the cleaning, it's going to be hit or miss with the comfort stations.

While we were on Loop 2000, the cleaning people always showed up about 11:00 am. We were always still around because myself and one of my grandchildren are late risers. We live close by and go often, so no concern about rope drop or even what rides we get in. We just go with the flow. DH and other grandson are early risers so often go to breakfast or fishing while waiting on us lazy butts to wake up. 8-)

Yeah, I know this is the case most of the time. In this instance, the number I listed is not the one listed for the Fort. I believe it goes directly to the Outpost. I could be wrong, I suppose the only way to know is to call it and ask, which I may do.

Properly functioning plumbing should not get hotter when a toilet is flushed. There are plumbing devices to prevent this. It would seem they have a major issue/problem.

be prepared for them to tell you what they expect you to want to hear. will you know if they are telling the truth? how many times have you been at the front desk and have a phone ring? do the call the manger or go in the back and get him?

You're probably right. Didn't even think of that. Maybe I will try calling it when I'm standing in the room next time I'm there. LOL

We had plenty of hot water and my DD saw the cleaning crew one night about 2-3 AM when she went to the restroom. Our only issue was one night none of the magic bands would work at the comfort station
