Meredith & Chad, April 28 2018 Wishes, WP/GM Lounge/UK Lochside- WEDDING VIDEO

That dress is just gorgeous, you will look stunning!

All the stress now will lead to a well planned, enjoyable wedding day so hang in there.

I know if I were going to a Disney wedding, a caricature would be such a cool wedding favor. I am enough of a Disney nerd to get the Major Domo thing, but are your guests? Is is going to be one of those things were people say everything was just perfect, but who was that guy carrying the rings?

@Pandora.becca this is such an incredible idea. I know if my daughter or son did something like this, I would be over the moon.
My friends did a ring warming ceremony where the families came up and passed around the rings as they prayed/hoped for things in their marriage as they held them, then the parents handed them to their kids' significant other. I thought it was a unique touch since they didn't have a ring bearer or best man either.

@AllThingsMickey4 you are doing amazing btw, this is one of the best planned and controlled journals I have ever read, I honestly think you are going to have such an incredible wedding!

It really is getting close now. I can just imagine how much stress you are going through. Everything will fall into place. Just need to stay on top of it all. Keep us updated. I am biting my nails reading your thread :). Love the dress!!

Welcome Bags!!

So I think I was bored on a rainy Saturday afternoon when I thought welcome bags would be a fun idea :rotfl:I kind of regretted it as soon as I placed the order for the customized labels (too late to turn back now!) I've seen a lot of brides say the hotel didn't give them out, so that's disappointing but I'm hoping for the best.

So I started stuffing this past Saturday!

FullSizeRender 2.jpg

I had custom "I'm Celebrating" buttons made for our guests in put them in a clear bag with a permanent marker so they can customize them to their own celebration and wear them in the parks! I figured they would be more likely to wear that than a button with our faces on it :rotfl:
The orange bars are "Florida Orange" soaps
The His and Her Favorites bags have Chewy granola bars and gummies in them (I really wanted to do actual snacks from the parks, but they are sooo expensive and I got a box of granola bars and gummies for $12 total on Amazon)
Rain Ponchos are essential in Disney
Kleenexes because they were a cheap add-on to my Amazon order
And 2 bags of goldfish for each bag
I still have to add 2 small bottled waters to each bag (that's what the labels are for) and these Mickey bath bombs I got today from an Etsy seller:

They dissolve to reveal a Disney pin inside!!! :cheer2: They are amazing, she did such a good job and even wrapped and made the tags for me!!

Thank goodness I only have around 12 bags (since I'm just doing one per hotel room), I couldn't imagine stuffing many more than that and then trying to get them down to Florida with all of the other wedding stuff :earseek:

45 Day Update Coming Soon... The call with my planner is tomorrow!!!! :cool1:

Loving all your plans so far! And that dress is beautiful. It would look great with the Epcot flowers...I hope they let you wear it! As far as the Major Domo, I feel like the caricature artist is something your guests will enjoy more and will be able to take something home from the day. You could incorporate your parents somehow with the rings. My friends did a ring warming ceremony where the families came up and passed around the rings as they prayed/hoped for things in their marriage as they held them, then the parents handed them to their kids' significant other. I thought it was a unique touch since they didn't have a ring bearer or best man either.

Thank you!! I know.. it would look so gorgeous with the Flower and Garden Festival going on! I definitely think I'm going to cut Domo and add a caricature artist, especially since we don't have wedding favors. I LOVE the ring warming ceremony idea. I think I might do that or have my sister just present the rings from the front row, since we haven't really been able to involve her in any other way.

Relax! I know you have a lot of decisions to make and believe me, I know about time going quicker than you want and not hearing back from people... But it will all be alright! It's about being married and not the one day, the one day and planning it, is supposed to be fun, so don't let it get to you!
It is really a bummer about your dress! Especially is they didn't do stuff at all! Did you have a list of all the alterations that needed to be made? But I really love your other dress! It look so light and is so appropriate for a spring wedding!

I'm definitely trying to stay calm!! Sometimes it helps to think that it's about celebrating us as a couple... and everything doesn't have to be perfect and extravagant. I didn't have a list.. honestly all that needed to be done was that stupid bustle!! And it doesn't help that we had to pay for the alterations in full at the beginning :headache:

I definitely hope so!! I think I'm going to add the caricature artist. Too much of a risk with my guests being so confused with Domo :rotfl:I wouldn't classify any of them as Disney lovers, much less Disney nerds!! LOL

Thank you so much for your kind words!! I really want other brides to be able to read this and understand the process from my experience!

It really is getting close now. I can just imagine how much stress you are going through. Everything will fall into place. Just need to stay on top of it all. Keep us updated. I am biting my nails reading your thread :). Love the dress!!

Argghhhh!! Tell me about it!! I get knots in my stomach thinking about how close we are! I can't imagine how I'm going to feel the day of! I'll keep the updates coming :dancer:

I love your welcome bags! Such cute ideas! I want one of those Mickey bath Bombs! Hopefully your guests all get them! Maybe check in with your guests and make sure they know they are at the front desk? I went to a wedding where the bride asked if I got my bag, I had not because I checked in before her so I had no idea it was there. Cannot wait to hear your 45 day update! I know you have been on edge with your planner! I cannot imagine the stress you are under over this!

39 Days!!!!

You see it in all the planning journals- brides just can't believe how fast time flies... well let me just tell you the weeks are flying by so fast I feel like I'm going to blink and it will be April 28th!! I swear it feels like just a couple of months ago I got my date confirmed, but it's already been almost a year :scared1:

So the 45 day phone call with my planner last week went really well! I've finally got all the little details that have been nagging me taken care of and I think I am finally happy with all of the elements. I decided to do 8 topiaries with twinkle lights.. they were only slightly cheaper than the greens package but I think they will flow better with our "garden party" theme than the ficus trees. They will be a mixture of ball and spiral topiaries. I'm also getting my plain gold candelabras around the black and white dance floor :woohoo:

We also got confirmation that our dance floor can be in the middle of the room with the sweetheart table in front of the windows with a view of Spaceship Earth and the reception tables surrounding the dance floor. I'm hoping it's going to look as amazing as I think it will :rotfl:

Stitch can't appear with Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto.. but my planner scheduled Stitch to come out right before the other three so we are able to get him for $600 instead of $1200 :cheer2:

I also had a call with my DJ and got a lot of those details squared away. I'm so glad we decided to go with a DJ even for a brunch wedding. I'm hoping he can get everyone in the party mood! We are going to do a surprise anniversary dance dedicated to my parents since it will be their 28th wedding anniversary. I'm hoping it can be to "Promise" from the end of Illuminations (my mom LOVES this song).. just waiting on confirmation from him. We are also going to have Stitch come in at the end of the parent dance and have our song "You'll Be In My Heart" fade into "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride." Then once Stitch's set is over we will ask everyone to come to the dance floor for a "group photo" and Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto will come out! I'm so excited!!!

The only other remaining details is the seating chart :crazy2: I was originally going to do open seating but I don't want couples to get split up since my tables only seat 6. We don't have many direct Disney references in our wedding, so I'm doing the Fastpass escort card idea (even though it's probably been done a million times). Our tables will be named after rides and each person will have a "Fastpass" that corresponds to their table. I'm doing Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, The People Mover, Mad Tea Party, and It's A Small World. I found these cool vintage ride posters on Etsy and I'm going to frame them and use easels.

Other than that, I'm almost done taking care of the little details. Then it will be fun trying to pack all this stuff up to drive down to Florida :car:

Oh and my second wedding dress arrives tomorrow!!!!!! Fingers crossed it fits pixiedust:

No, that doesn't help! My dad was also surprised they asked for the full amount at the first fitting (after paying a deposit while ordering). But they made a list of all the alterations needed (which didn't feel like much, but when you see it as a list, it feels like a lot more!). When I got home I started to wonder if one thing was on the list or not (some lace annoyed my skin, so they're going to line that) so I asked and they replied it was on there. That did make me feel better. But it's still 2 weeks for my final fitting...

BTW, aren't your welcome bags a wedding favor?

Your alterations people are a lot more organized than mine! lol. Mine seem a little too laid back which is sort of unsettling in that kind of business. My final fitting will hopefully be this Monday!! Not driving another 3 1/2 hours again- she's coming home with me bustle or no bustle!!

Technically the welcome bags are a wedding favor, but since I'm not giving them out AT the wedding I'm not sore if people will see them that way. Oh well, I've decided I'm not having a favor at the actual wedding. I've been to weddings where they gave out koozies with their names on them and I threw it in a drawer with all the other koozies :rotfl:And Disney's edible favors are just too expensive. I think I was quoted around $7-$9 for a chocolate shoe in a cellophane wrapper. We upgraded our Dessert Party Menu to include nachos, carrot cake cookies, zebra domes, warm jalapeño cheese pretzels and apple pie moonshine flambé cronies for $5 per person, so that can be their favor :p

Yeah I'm definitely going to make sure people know about the bags... even though I feel like that takes the "surprise" out of it, but you gotta do what ya gotta do :confused3 The bath bombs are amazing! I tested one out they smell so good and there was my pin of Gaston after everything dissolved :rotfl:

I love your welcome bags too!!!! I hope the hotels give them out also.

Thank you!!! Luckily we are only having to deal with two resorts and we don't have that many bags, so I'm hoping they won't see it as too much of a hassle.

Yeah! I'm so happy to hear that! I'm a bit jealous you're having Stitch at your wedding!
Please post a picture tomorrow of your dress! And let us know if it fits!

It was so hard deciding between Stitch and a caricature artist, but when she told me I could get Stitch for $600 I jumped on that!! I don't think any of my guests will know who he is but I LOVE Stitch!! Plus most of my guests already assume I'll have Mickey and Minnie, so this will be a nice surprise. I'll definitely post a picture of the dress! I wanted to get it shipped to my parents house to try and keep it a secret from my fiancé, but the seller added signature required to the delivery :scared: which is good... but also not good because I've been on the phone with FedEx all day trying to get it scheduled in a time frame that I will be there. So I'm really hoping that I don't miss the delivery tomorrow

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the fit! We look to be close to the same size. It turns out the girl selling it is from Indiana, but her family owns DVC at the Boardwalk resort and she goes to Disney once or twice a year! Our "home" resort is the Beach Club. Definitely feels like a little bit of pixie dust connected us :wizard:

And they get Stitch! Especially with a bath bomb with a pin it, I'm sure it counts as a wedding favor!

Yes, my alteration people seem to be more organised. I'm a bit worried they gave me a card with my measurements on it at the first fitting and the statement it'll cost me money if they change :P Maybe a bit too organised? I haven't dared to measure my current measurements, been a bit too busy for the gym... And my final fitting is next week

I'm keeping my fingers crossed you'll be there for the delivery! Couldn't you authorize for your parents to sign? (here they are a bit to easy with the signatures, they don't really care who signs. Sometimes they mention it, but you still get the delivery), but with all that pixy dust going on, it must be alright!

Omg they gave you a card with your measurements?! That's kind of nerve-wracking hahah. My parents could sign, but they will be at work. I should've gotten it shipped to my work, but I didn't really want anyone knowing I have two dresses yet... seems a little bridezilla when you say you have two wedding dresses :rotfl:

Thank you so much for posting this!! I especially appreciate your post on your planning session. Mine is 5 days away and I wasn't really sure what to expect.
I can't wait to read more as your day gets closer!

Good luck with your fitting. Are you wedding your second dress for your Dessert Party?

A (Late) 30 Day Update!!!!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update! Let's just say things did NOT go well with my last fitting and I was scrambling/crying/having a nervous break down pretty much all of last week.

The seamstress decided she would take her own liberty in making sure my bustle was secure. So without asking us, she sewed through the TOP LAYER OF MY FREAKING DRESS. She basically sewed the top three layers of the dress together and put a weird clear bead in every place she sewed on the top of the dress. The clear bead isn't very noticeable... it's the HUGE patch she put around each bustle string that shows through the TOP of my dress. It pretty much looks like a bunch of band-aids stuck throughout. I cried my eyes out last Tuesday. I had to take it to a couple of local places before I found someone who would attempt to take one of them out. I watched as she took a knife to the tulle of my dress... but just like that one of the bustle ribbons/patches was GONE!!!! I'm supposed to pick it up from her on April 12th so I'm praying there are no holes in the top layer when she gets done!! I might post before and after pictures if everything turns out okay. It honestly pains me to look at pictures of the dress in its current state

Not to mention the first seamstress left holes all through the third layer of my dress (she moved all of the bustle ribbons, leaving holes where they used to be) and my dress was COVERED in black dog hair. The second alterations woman even said it smelt like dog :crazy2:

Needless to say I've set up a steaming appointment with Loftis productions for the day before the wedding.

Anyway, the pre-owned reception dress did come in and it is gorgeous and in overall excellent shape!!! It honestly doesn't look used at all. The only thing is the length is wayyyyy too long :sad2: so I'm taking it to another alterations place when they open back up on April 9th. It's our usual alterations spot, but he is out of town until then, so I'm hoping he can get it done in a week and a half :worship: Other than that, the dress fits like a glove. It's kind of scary how perfect it fits :rotfl:

I've also gone on a recent veil buying spree. I decided to order a more intricate cathedral veil for the ceremony in case I have to hide any holes in the top layer. I'm not sure if it's going to be too much with my dress, so I won't know how it looks until I pick the dress up on the 12th. And I ordered a shorter veil with 3D embroidered flowers to match the reception dress.

Not 100% sure how I feel about this one. I'll have to see how it looks in person. I've also decided I'm going to wear my hair completely down on the wedding day. It just feels more natural because I NEVER wear my hair up. Like ever. I want to look like myself in photos. I don't know for sure about the MK portrait session yet. My hair doesn't always cooperate in the early morning Florida humidity... so I guess it will depend on the weather :confused3

I sent the final payment in on March 29th... so everything is FINALLY done and planned and now I can sit back and let it unfold!!! My planner is on vacation until April 15th without access to phone or email, so I'm glad I got all of the little details taken care of before she left.

BUT.... I added Cinderella's Coach back in about 30 minutes before I made the final payment :rotfl::rolleyes1 It was really nagging me that I would regret not having it because it is so Disney. Plus, I don't see us being the people to do a Disney vow renewal later down the road, so I feel like it's now or never. I still love the look of the vintage Rolls Royce, so my planner suggested we make the staged exit in the Coach, and then switch to the car in the parking lot and circle back around to the Pavilion so the guests can see us in that too. Then we will take the car to the GM Lounge. I'm finally satisfied with that set-up!!!

I'm starting to feel better about the little wedding day details.. the only thing I'm worried about is the stress of driving down to Florida, getting all of the wedding stuff to Franck's, and getting our dogs settled in at Best Friends (this will be their first time being boarded) :headache: It's not an ideal situation, but we really didn't have anyone else to watch them at home, and I would rather board them in Florida where I can visit them multiple times each day than board them for their first time at home without visitors. I'm also starting to stress about switching hotels the day of the wedding.. mostly because I'm not sure how we are going to move our car from the GF to the YC without having to do it after the Dessert Party :scared: I'm also trying to strategically pack things so we don't have to pack too much stuff back up in different luggages on the morning of the wedding. It's making things a little too complicated :sad2:

All in all I'm getting pretty excited. I think I will feel better once both dresses fit perfectly and are in my possession. I also need to set up a call with Reverend Knox since we aren't having a rehearsal. The to-do list is slowly shrinking which is a good sign! I want to try to have everything ready to go the week before, so I can just sit back and wait with (hopefully) little stress!

Thank you so much for posting this!! I especially appreciate your post on your planning session. Mine is 5 days away and I wasn't really sure what to expect.
I can't wait to read more as your day gets closer!

I hope your planning session went well!!! Glad to hear my post helped! Just remember so much can and WILL change from your planning session, and that's completely okay :cutie: I wish I could redo my planning session.. it was so much fun looking back!

Good luck with your fitting today!

Thank you for thinking of me!! Let's just say I wish I would've taken the dress after my last fitting instead of leaving it there for her to mutilate

Good luck with your fitting. Are you wedding your second dress for your Dessert Party?

Yep, I'm wearing the second dress for the Dessert Party. I don't want to take any chances on messing the ceremony dress up before our MK and Epcot pictures the next day. Plus, now that I'm having the bustle removed there really is no way I can wear the ceremony dress without having to carry the train like a massive bed sheet :rotfl:

I just read all your PJ.
Yay!! Stitch is awesome.
Looking forward to reading and seeing more.

Glad to have you here!!! I'm so excited about Stitch. We watched Lilo & Stitch the other night and it got me so excited and happy that I added him :thumbsup2
