We will be in Orlando over Easter Weekend due to DS's graduation from college that weekend. We are looking for something to do on Saturday. We don't want to either fight or "enjoy" the crowds in WDW or US. Just did Sea World in November. Are there any smaller attractions that would be interesting for at least a half day of fun? We are a group of 8 adults aged 19 through a vigorous 78. Would love to be outdoors, but don't want to just hang by a pool or water park.

Also, we are eating at AKL's Jiko on Friday night - any suggestions for Saturday night or Easter Sunday breakfast?

in the vicinity such as Gatorland, Splendid China, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Guiness Book of World Records Museum, Wonderworks, Titanic Ship of Dreams, and Orlando Science Center to name a few. Also, you can pick up some of the tourist booklets in the bins outside shopping areas because most have coupons inside of them for a lot of the attractions that save a couple of dollars on admission.

I especially have enjoyed Ripley's Believe It or Not right on 8201 International Dr. We got the chance to see some odd or unusual artifacts on display where you can't see anywhere else in everyday life up close and personal. I started visiting a couple of years back before the t.v. program started airing and found it to be a nice attraction to sort of get away from park crowds for a day. So, there are alot of interesting things to browse through inside and found it enjoyable.

We visited the Titanic Ship of Dreams that is located within the Mercado Mediterranean Village on 8445 International Dr.; next door to Ripley's and Guiness Book of World Records which has exhibits as well. When we were last at Titanic there were guides dressed in period costumes escorting guests throughout several rooms displaying items derived from the ship.

They are also telling the story of the Titanic along with its' passengers as you move along from each location taking a look at all of the collections of pieces. A recreation of the grand staircase is inside too, a simulated cold atmosphere of the night when the ship met with disaster, and an iceberg that guests are invited to touch. There is a gift shop available too that has a host of great things. This was a great way to see something different for a day and break from huge crowds. Also, the Mercado is a dining and shopping complex so you may find some place that you may want to grab some lunch for the day as well while visiting the museums.

If you want to enjoy an outdoors day, then Splendid China or Gatorland may be more to your liking but they are similar to the parks in that you will have some walking around to do for seeing things but there are shows and seating areas for resting. They are not as crowded as WDW, etc. but probably require a little longer on average for doing with more people being around than the museums. Also, congrats on your ds graduation from college!
