Morning DIS community! Been stalking scrapbook pages for awhile, trying to develop a set of star wars themed pages... DS loved Jedi training and I wanted to showcase his participation. Not able to find any embellishments on eBay and I have a silhouette cameo but very limited knowledge - learning to use it but when they upgraded software several weeks back it really messed me up ... Trying to figure out offset - see if I can cut my own embellishments. Welcome ideas. Thoughts. Help from pro / experienced scrappers.

Thanks!

Hi!

Have you tried Pinterest for ideas? There are thousands of scrapbook pages pinned there, and definitely some Star Wars layouts that are great for ideas.

I haven't scrapped Star Wars at all, but I've pinned some cute ideas, just in case my son ever develops a love for the movies. I don't have a Silhouette or other cutter, so if I want an embellishment that I'll have to hand make, I stick with ones that are fairly simple, so I could hand-cut if necessary.

I did find a free svg file of Mickey and Minnie in Star Wars gear. Very cute. Does that work with the Silhouette? I found it here: http://www.craftsbyjen.com/scrapbook/view_project.php?link_number=411

I also found free 3x4 printable cards with various Star Wars characters. http://laurakateiscrafty.blogspot.com/2013/05/may-4th-be-with-you-for-insd.html

Here's another bunch (scroll through) of cards, either 3x4 or 4x6: http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/p..._Timetogohome_Stormtrooper_lines_3x4.jpg.html

If you want to buy some fun stuff, you can check out scrapyourtrip.com and check out their Star Wars supplies.

As another alternative, I've seen Star Wars pages that don't use movie-specific embellishments. You can use stars, planets, sparkles, bling, etc, to set the scene without going full-on Star Wars.

Have fun! :)

oooh I made those (I always get excited when people link to my cards :cool1:)! I'm not making them anymore but there is a very handy index of all my cards on posts #2&3 of my old thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3225701 . If you search for "star wars" on that page you'll find them nice and quickly, it'll save you having to hunt through the gazillion photobucket files :) Happy scrapping!

So in the cards - is it best to print in card stock or plain paper? They are awesome! I've followed pixie sprite for awhile but never actually used any of her DISigns

I'd print it on cardstock. Or, if you want a somewhat glossier look, you can print on photo paper. Or have a few printed at your local photo printer (Walgreens, CVS, Costco, etc).

Super cute!!! Great job!!!

I have printed them on both cardstock and on glossy/matte paper... just really depends on the look you want.. I printed some of pixiesprite's cards for my 2014 family album that is PL styled on glossy and I just love them! :)

very cute page :thumbsup2 I only digiscrap so haven't printed many of the cards to use individually - I'd say a heavier paper like photopaper or cardstock would look more sturdy on the layout than regular paper... Have fun with them!

Hi,
I am relatively new to scrapbooking as well, but I am also working on SW pages for my boys.

I found SW paper on eBay for a reasonable price. I got 4 packages (8 sheets each) for $25 and shipping was free. (not sure if I overpaid or not, but the price seemed reasonable to me) Just make her an offer and she most likely will accept it.

She also has SW stickers and chipboard.

I have found a lot of SW ideas on Pinterest as well.
