Has anyone ever found a sunblock that does not irritate the eyes? All the standard formulas do a number on me and my kids.

WE found a Great Sunblock that didn't Run into Eyes and Worked better than all the Creme Sunblocks!!!

We took 2 Sunblocks, both work GREAT!!

For Faces and Necks, Coppertone GEL sfp 30 it dryed Fast Fast and Stayed on even on sweating Adults, and protected Excellant!

For Arms,Legs, ears, necks, top of feet in sandles, teen belly buttons We used Wal-Greens Spray On spf 30,It dryed fast, and protected Excellant!

These products Exceded my expectations!! My teen's only complaint was that she didn't get ANY color so how were Friends going to Know she went on Vacation!! With creme sunbocks she's always gotten tanned while wearing them, and I am always very vilaint about keeping sunblock on my Dd. This time No Tan!!

I switched over to BullFrog a few years ago and have had great results. It is a gel type that dries in seconds. Even on my face when I sweat I have had no problems with it getting into my eyes. The stuff takes a little time getting used to the application since it is not a cream you don't have to keep rubbing it in more of a smear it on and let it dry. The adult type has a strong odor that goes away in about a minute but they have a kids type that smells like Watermellon. The best part is not feeling gummy before 7 am on the way to a park or brealfast.

I like Ocean Potion, but the trick with that on the face is to put in on before you get sweaty at all. It dries with no slimy feel at all and I have not been stung when I sweated later.

I use Neutrogena Sport Gel. It is non-irritating and it doesn't make me break out, since I am prone to such things. That is for my face only - SPF 30. It's pretty pricey, but well worth it.

As far as the rest of me - I get whatever strikes my fancy when I am shopping for it!!! Banana Boat, Coppertone, "No AD".... all seem to have similar sport formulas.

We use sunblock sticks for the forehead, nose and around the eyes. It is waxy and does not run. It is also good for ears.

We went to IOA last summer with 1 yo DS and put sunblock on like good parents. By the time we got off the boat at the entrance, DH had to hose DS off in the men's room. His eyes were swollen and his face was blotchy.

After that we tried many, none with quite the same reaction, but all with at least the teary eyes.

We finally hit on the Neutrogena. Have had great luck with all of them.

Good Luck!

The "sport" sunblocks don't run (and they tout that on the bottles). We like Coppertone Sport in particular. The problem with us is not that we put it on while we were wet or sweaty, but once we GET wet or sweaty (sometimes hours later), it then runs into our eyes!

The sticks are really good to apply under the eyes, so you can get very close to your eyes (where that bit of sunburn gets ya), but the Coppertone Sport Stick can be greasy.

I got some Neutrogena Oil-Free sunblock stick, says "healthy defense, oil free won't block pores". We all tried it last week-end at a soccer game. Blocked well, but we did not get sweaty enough to see if it runs in our eyes. Has anyone snorkeled with this? Had really different active ingredients, none of the cinnamate derivitives that seem to get my eyes.

I recommend Coppertone sport. My kids have allergies and do a lot of eye rubbing and always rub while swimming. the Coppertone sport didn`t run in the eyes or make you sweat more, like some of the greasy/waxy sticks and creams do. We use it sparingly and then apply more every 2 hours or so. We wear hats and visors too.
