We are planning a trip for early december 2006. We are renting points from a friend who is a dvc owner and owns at bcv. We would like to stay at OKW or possibly VWL. What do you think our chances are of getting either of these resorts in early december at the seven month window? We'll be needing multiple rooms ( two 2-bedroom villas) and aren't very flexible with the time frame. Two of our party are teachers and can only get a specific week off from work. Will this be impossible? Thank you.

If you have them call right at the 7 month mark, you should be fine with OKW, but VWL will be near impossible. It is a very small resort and very popular at Holiday time because of the decorations.

Very encouraging. Thanks. We visited OKW this past trip and fell in love with it. Now we'll cross our fingers and hope our rooms can be close to each other. lol Thanks again for your replies.

Why not stay BCV? The Epcot resort area is a wonderful place to be during the holidays. Epcot has many holiday special events going on during this time. Most notably the Candlelight Processional. This production is beutiful. It really focuses on the reason for the season in a very tastefully done way that encompasses us all. Epcot also has native Santas in each WS country that tell stories, a tree lighting ceremony, etc. BCV is literally just minutes away from Epcot. The park is decorated beautifully as are the Epcot resorts. BWI/BWV, YC/BC have eleboarte gingerbread displays, BWI.BWV has a tree lighting ceremony, holiday Carolers and a bell riinging quartet that is amazing.
VWL is also very, very nice for the holidays and is decorated beautifully. But that resort is very hard to get into during the holiday season, unless you own points there.
OKW is decorated for the holidays, it is pretty, but not anything special.

Thanks for the great input thelobstershanty. I totally agree. We stayed at bcv's last holiday season and had a fabulous time. We kind of wanted to try something different next trip. Would SSR be equally as hard to get as vwl since it's so new? Just in case okw is filled by the 7 month window?

no, SSR should be just as easy as OKW - Why? they are the two biggest DVC resorts.

SSR rooms are smaller like the other DVC resorts.

but SSR is much more fancy, upscale than OKW.
