On the Adventure of the Seas right now...

Our last trip on RCL was on Freedom and we had lunch at the Pizza place for embarkation day, it was much quieter, and opened earlier. The coffee place across the promenade was also serving those sandwiches they have. Of course my son being my son :) we had to go to the buffet later to get him a hot dog. He loves those things.

I just got off Anthem and they have a section in the Windjammer buffet titled Gluten Free. In the dessert area the names of each item indicate if they are sugar or gluten free.

It's unfortunate that the hand washing/sanitizing isn't something you can unilaterally impose on people. It SHOULD be a no brainer, but some folks just won't do it if they can.

I am willing to live on a RCI ship and force people to wash their hands before entering any dining establishment. It is a sacrifice I would be willing to make in order to spread the word of cleanliness.

I can confirm they also do breakfast in the dining room. It's extra cost but I also recommend Chops Grille lunch on embarkation day because the buffet is insane.

We had lunch at Chops on Symphony as part of The Key (see my review for more info) and while the food was phenomenal, we sat there for 1.5 hours. We would have been in and out of the buffet in less than half that time. We board early, eat quickly, and move on. Chops messed all of that up.

Yeah for the 1st day buffet (if you're insistent on going) it's best that you get onboard early then go once it's opened. You can get one, maybe two visits in before it gets slammed. Not that you should grab all the foods in one go or anything (way too many options for that), but be aware that an extra trip might not be in the cards.

Yes. This is how it is done, but really, shut up about it. I don't want everyone figuring this out and messing up the system. :P

Ok, good to know. Hopefully we can find enough food that hasn't been coughed on, licked, sneezed on, etc. that we don't go hungry. No one seemed to care about the hand washing stations on Symphony.

They also have breakfast in the dining room on deck 3 on disembarkation day.

Great idea. "Washy, Washy!!!"

I edited my first post to add why you should avoid cabins 2352-2354 unless you plan to put your family in both cabins. ;)

My favorite spot in the Windjammer. They had a special... 3$ for mimosas:

We tried Johnny Rockets. Wasn’t a fan of the burger (nothing beats Guy’s Burgers) but the Chili Cheese Fries and the Apple Pie at the end were great!

Loved the ambiance and the staff!!!

While I haven’t tried the flowrider or the climbing... I tried the waterslides and the mini-golf and they were nice. 13B206C9-131B-421B-9676-D72A225C301D.jpeg

I forgot to mention they had breakfast and lunch buffet (+ a la carte options) in the dining room every day!

Cabanas (DCL) used to be my favorite buffet but not anymore... Windjammer has a lot more fun and/or adventurous options.

Royal offers excellent shows (professional skaters, vegas acts, etc.) I was OBSESSED.

Rookie was the best show I’ve seen at sea.

Mike Price made me enjoy jugglers and had a dark sense of humor, which I loved.

Mo5aic were absolutely awesome.

What is Rookie? Was that a Headliner?

Your cruise was a 6 night or 8 night? Ours was a 6 night and was surprised we only had 1 production show (Can't Stop the Rock) plus the ice show. But the headliners were all great so we didn't miss out and got 2 different comedians (first and last night).

Also, did you spend any time at Schooner Bar or Boleros? We really enjoyed the "Switched On" group at Boleros.

It was a 6 nights W Caribbean.

Rookie was a headliner show featuring an ex-broadway singer (starred in Jersey Boys) who was singer old classic rock songs from the 60-70s. He was phenomenal.

We only went to Schooner once for trivia. Passed by the piano bar show a few times. The room was always full.

Passed by Boleros a few times. The musicians were great. People were dancing sometimes.

The Rookie headliner sounds like it was a lot of fun. We had an Elton John impersonator...also very good. I love how they switch up the headliners for each cruise.

Royal's shows are amazing. Totally blow DCL's shows out of the water, no pun intended.

Glad to see more dining options than just the Jammer. OCD question: were the buffets self-serve in the dining room, or were there staff plating the food?

What time did you board? We generally have gotten to port early on RCCL and pretty walked on in 10 minutes. Never figured out why this is so hard for Disney.

Also how was the ride on deck 2? We booked a cruise a couple years out, and my better half is concerned because we are on deck 2. We have never booked a room below deck 6 so it will be a change. We will be on the seventh floor this trip:)

Sounds like you had a great time.
