We are dedicated Disney fans. We have made trips to Disney 2x a year for 16 years with our kids. We have also done Universal and Seaworld. We have always stayed at WDW or Universal properties.

This year we rented a condo in Orlando and are doing a NO THEME PARK trip. We have 3 teen (14,15,16). They will enjoy the resort amenities and that will occupy they but we need more. The boys are golfing 2 days. We will have a car.

What is there to do in Orlando that teens would enjoy. Also any favorite places to eat. Themed places are fun.

Thanks for your help :)

We did the iFly indoor skydiving and it was a hit with my teen.

An airboat ride on everglades. (adventure kids)
Blue Springs State Park to see the manatee (winter only), also has a great boat tour with lots of wildlife. (nature loving kids)
Sort of an amusement park, but Fun Spot America has a handful of rides and some great go-carting (adventure and thrill seeker kids)
Shopping, shopping and more shopping. If boys, don't miss the Nike Factory Store (the real one, not the Nike stores at the outlet malls) (material kids).

You don't say if they are girls or boys or their likes so it is hard to tell. I had one of each (grown now) and the above kept them pretty busy.

Can't help much on the restaurants; due to food allergies we don't eat out a lot in Orlando; we usually cook simple healthy meals in our villa.

I have 2 boys and a girl. I would love to hear more about the airboat rides in the Everglades.

We have never been to COCOA beach. Is there a certain beach to go to in COCOA beach. What is Coconuts - hope it is a good place to eat.

Others here can provide better info than me, but there are a lot of places to try. We went to a wedding at one of the surf shack hotels, but no one on hand to give instruction.

We stayed at an old resort called the International Palms to watch the Falcon Heavy. It’s very much dated, but adequate. They have a ton of amenities though, including a place to rent boards.

More info about the beach

Have you checked out goOrlando pass, its unlimited attractions for 2,3,5 days it was really worth it. We did Kennedy space, all kinds of things on international drive magic show dinner theater.
Get it on groupon its cheaper

How old are your teens? Boys? Girls? Both?? Let them go online and look up some attractions they may be interested in. My DD12 is a pre-teen and last year suggested the thrill rides at Seaworld. I didn't think it would be that much fun since I am not a thrill ride person but...let me tell you.....I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME!!!! And even though we have been going to Orlando every year since she was 1 year old, we never tried Seaworld at all. We only did Disney, or Universal or no theme park at all and just enjoyed the amenities at the resorts. So my suggestion is to let the teens go online and look for Orlando attractions and stuff that may interest them and go from there. Let us know what they suggested. I am sure someone will have some tips on their experiences with the places your teens suggest.

BTW: My young adult sons used to love Dave and Busters in Orlando. We have one near us in Philadelphia but my sons believe the one in Orlando is TWICE as much more fun.

As my sons became teens we ventured out into the waterparks/putt putt type options. They really like Typhoon Lagoon the best of water parks but if you wanted to be Disney free there are other water parks. I think Aquatica is one. They also wanted to try the Orlando slingshot on International Dr. It was closed the night we went by but it is still on their list.
For food options, they liked Texas De Brazil, Daruma Japanese Steakhouse and Uno's pizza had a really good takeout deal last time we were there.

We are fortunate to live in area with a lot to offer so when we go to Orlando we like to do things not offered near us outside Philly such as Discovery Cove we added the dolphin swim and it was a wonderful relaxing day and next week we’re doing the Exotic Animal Experience. you can google both to get details.

Would love to try the airboat on a future trip sounds fun!

There are a million things to do. It would be too hard to list them all. You have Fun Spot, airboat rides, shows like Medieval Times, and the list would go on for miles.

Ultimately, my recommendation would be something completely different. I do not know you nor your family. Why not do something you don't have to go different directions...take a cruise!!! Maybe not Disney, but there are tons of others out there. The kids can all go their own directions on ship, get to ports to explore or go on excursions. Never have to worry about food really. Just a side thought..maybe tangential.

We did the airboat tour with our teens a couple years ago - they loved it! We went with Wild Willys. We also always try to get to Cocoa Beach or Daytona beach - during a theme trip tour, it is such a nice break from the madness!

You will LOVE the condo experience!

We checked groupon Orlando last year and did the hydroboard. My son loved it. We also did VR experience at a gaming center. Of course we also did the void. For the different we both went to the chiropractor and got a good crack with massage. We did a lot of fun stuff using groupon and saved money.

Whirly ball - basketball from bumper cars.
A Florida state park - there are great kayaking tours.
The skeleton museum.
Wonderworks - aimed at younger kids, but it was fun on an adults only trip.
Escape rooms. The Escape Game Orlando was fantastic.
Zombie outbreak.

Note that a lot of places have cheap Groupon and similar deals.

Madame Taussaud's wax museum, dinner show, there are several Segway tours too. My kids really enjoyed Discovery Cove. Definitely not cheap though. I took 4 teens last summer and the water parks were a favorite.
