Questions about beaches

Hello all,
We are sailing on the Wonder, May 4th. We were wondering about the beaches at Nassau and Freeport. We want to go to a beach at one of these ports, but we are not sure which one.
We would like easy access to the beach. So our question is which beach is easier to get to from the ship? We would like to pretty much just walk off the ship, walk a little and be at the beach. We don't want to take a taxi.
Also, while we are swimming, will our personal belongings be safe on the beach(ie: camera, sandals, clothing and purse)?
Do we have to pay to get on the beach?

Being totally honest though, we would prefer to not get off the ship until Castaway Cay but we don't want to risk the ship not being able to dock there and miss a swim in the ocean.

Any info helps,
Cheers,

I know for a fact that in Freeport you would need a taxi to go about anywhere. There is a bit more by the dock in Nassau, but to access a beach you would still need a taxi.
