Holy moley, 8 years ago??? Wow!!! Our kiddos have grown into wonderful young ladies and dude! We sure are blessed, D~! Our Jilly has finally found a BF who ADORES her, and we love him. He is 5 yrs older than she is...reminds me of your A~ and her BF.

Loved your update. I hate that we won't be there at the same time. It looks like Brian's brother and his daughter (Gabe's age), will be flying down from Iowa to join us on our trip next year. Neither of them have been before at all, and are really looking forward to it. He is an officer in the National Guard, and they are looking into staying at SOG, as well!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Christmas decorations!!! Like, you could definitely make a living at that if you had a mind to do it!!! I have a cousin who works for a high end home decor store. Her sole responsibilty is store displays and in home decorating for clients . This is her dream job. She just started in the fall, and she is LOVING LIFE.

Such amazing news on your dad! This has been a long journey for you, and I am sure your heart is at peace with him settled into such a great home. Kudos to your girls for stepping up! I JUST had a conversation with my own brother about how we are to model, for our children, how we would like to be treated when WE are the ones with health issues. I won't go into details, but needless to say, my parents chose to move here upon retirement, and built a house literally one mile from his. And they have only seen him about once every TWO MONTHS since they moved here. :headache: So. yeah, I had a long talk with him. All of this to say... A and V's response to the situation with your dad is a testament to how they have seen you care for him. You and Josh will be well cared for when you are the ones in need! :cloud9:

Yay for a 2020 trip!! Bummer that it is not the whole family but that may end up being a good thing....so many new things coming with the 50th anniversary that it might actually be better to wait. I think your hubby and mine would get along and that sound exactly like what we'd be doing on a trip..him searching for craft beers and me shopping ;-) Your room looks fabulous!! I think I need a small tree in our bedroom after seeing yours. That looks great! Can't wait to see the rest.

Wow! I am in love with your bedroom decor. It looks beautiful! I am now inspired. Great news on your dad's ALF. What peace of mind that must give you to know he is happy in his new home. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your Christmas decor, and ,of course your upcoming trip!

Yay for a new PTR! It is so FUN to follow along with you :flower1: Wow, I can’t believe V is turning 21:bday: I love the “Then and Now” photos of her. Disney is the perfect place to celebrate this special birthday.

Your Christmas decor photos make we want to get busy with mine, I love all of it! You are one talented lady  I do a Gingerbread display also. I was LOL reading about your carryon bag adventure.

So happy for your Dad, such awesome girls you have raised!

Miss you all! And Fuzi (Suzi) too :grouphug:

I am so glad you all had a good time in Europe. Those kiddos have just grown up so fast! The ornament incident at the airport had me LoLing! Of course, that would be the one they flag. Your décor looks great, though, so it was worth the risk, I'd say! I have been wondering how your Dad has been doing, so I am happy to hear that he got the spot you have been waiting for at the living facility. Your girls really stepped up and helped out. They are so great. I know you know that, but it is good to know from the outside that others see what special people they are! Hooray for getting good flight deals! I am happy that we are now close enough to drive to WDW again. It's about a 10 1/2 hour drive for us-which is long but still cheaper than 4 plane tickets! Our 60 day window is coming up this week. I am surprisingly nervous about making our FPplus reservations. I have never done it. The last time we went to WDW was in 2013 right before they rolled out the FPplus and magic bands. And we are staying in our home resort for the first time since we bought into DVC 5 years ago, LOL. I'm hoping the FPplus won't make or break our vacation and hoping for "lighter" crowds at the end of January if there is such a thing anymore. But who knows with the new Star Wars ride opening next month. Either way, I'm excited to be going back and excited to hear how you plan your trip out. This will be our first time NOT doing the dining plan. I only have 3 table service ADRs and will have to work our FP+ picks around those. Once we get there, we might decide to do more. It makes me nervous to not have it nailed down ahead of time, but it might be fun to just see what we get the day of and force ourselves to try something new. Anyway- I've missed your updates here and am glad you are back to planning another trip!!!

Hi D! Found your new PTR...we will be in Disney in May also this year. If you pm me your dates, I will see if we overlap. Love your Christmas decorations. I'm trying to get up the energy to start on mine. I guess I'm in a Thanksgiving coma still. I was happy to hear you have your dad settled in the AL. Glad to hear he loves it.

So glad I found your PTR! What better place to be to celebrate #21! So nice she is allowing you to tag along :bday:Your decorating is seriously SO amazing! It truly looks like something you would see in a magazine. If you have any high end stores in your area, you could probably get a gig setting up displays. I certainly wasn't born with that ability so I admire it. It's great that your Dad finally got a spot in the place you both wanted. Such a plus for you too to see him happy with his surroundings. Looking forward to hearing more about your plans. I finally got a DW trip on the calendar! A 4 night stay late March. Not at the time of year I would prefer or long enough but I'll take what I can get!

It took me awhile to get here, but I'm glad to see you aren't 20 pages in yet!!! I was nervous I'd be super far behind LOL

So excited that you and V are heading to WDW for her big birthday!! Especially because she was so sick on your last trip. She totally deserves a do-over!

Your Christmas decor is amazing. I agree with the person who posted above that you could absolutely do home design as a career. You are THAT good! I love that everything looks perfect, but also practical for cozy living.

Reading about your Dad finally getting an apartment where you had wanted him had me near tears. I can't imagine being so far away when the process began and how worried you must have been. What wonderful girls you and Josh have raised that they were able to step in and take care of things, just as you would have done had you been here. Such a testament to you both as their parents.

I'm glad to finally be here!!! :) Looking forward to seeing your plans progress, and bummed at the same time that we will just miss you! I'll be there on a girls trip with my Mom in April!

Dorine! I had previously seen a new pre-trip report up for you, and didn't think much other than "Yay!". Then when our 4 year old grandson was visiting over the holidays he made it very plain that he wanted to go to Dinsey Wirld (long "I") :lmao:with Pop (my husband). So yesterday I poked around a bit and could not find any availability until the 3rd week of May. I put a deposit down and told Pop he better start planning his wardrobe.

This morning, looking around the Dis, I saw your pre-trip report listed in the May 2020 vacation thread. Don't know if we'll be there at the same time but if you see a short chubby middle aged woman and a tall handsome middle aged man who answers to Pop chasing around a skinny 4 year old boy, that's us! :goodvibes

You’ve probably answered this before but where do you look to find reasonable airfare? We’re going down in September and deciding between driving from Ohio or flying but some places don’t have flights posted that far in advance or it’s more than I can budget.

I must be living under a rock, because I totally missed this report!!!

I am pretty bummed. We had originally planned to try to get down there in May also, but I have decided to get my other knee done in April...so it will be at least next year before we make it back. (unless I win that lottery...so there is hope:rotfl2:)

I totally missed on here and FB about your dad's move. So happy he loves his new place!

And I may be the only one, but I am not seeing any of your pictures here on the report.

    Can't wait to hear more!

    Hi there..
So i came back to the Dis after a long hiatus! Hey it's been crazy! And i see someone it TRIPPIN YO!
LOL. I have to go back and read all 65984154168 posts.. but i need to get back into knowing disney! we are also talking about going.

This is the – we are going, we aren’t going, yup we’re going, maybe not, sure let’s go, eh maybe not this time – trip.
    I know this feeling

May 2020 was supposed to be our “Big family trip” with BMTL (for those of you who don’t know – BMTL stands for Brian, Myrthe, Thomas & Lara – Josh’s brother and family who live overseas)… Due to life and everything going on – we decided to postpone the big family trip indefinitely.
Oh no i am sorry to hear this.

And then yesterday (YESTERDAY) out of the blue, V mentioned it – how she REALLY wanted to be in WDW for her big 21st birthday.
and Epic way to spend 21st!

but that's all I'll narrow it down to. We had an incident several years ago & for our safety I never give out specifics.
    I know this.

Ok. Going back to read more... and Why aren't ANY of your pictures showing for me??

    So excited!!!! :woohoo:

Yes - Dad is still doing well! Keeping me on my toes with endless requests - ahhh, but it's all good. He's happier and healthier than I've seen him in a while.

So glad I found your PTR! What better place to be to celebrate #21! So nice she is allowing you to tag along :bday:Your decorating is seriously SO amazing! Right? LOL I feel like she just wants me with so she can split the trip costs with someone. :scratchin LOL It's all good though - I love that the girls want to spend so much time with me!

Thank you - I love decorating... After all - I need something to do with my spare time. LOL

Yes - Dad is doing really well - which makes me so happy!

    Ooooh - exciting! :woohoo:

It took me awhile to get here, but I'm glad to see you aren't 20 pages in yet!!! I was nervous I'd be super far behind LOL

Hahahahah - "you're glad" I am not 20 pages in yet... How do you think I feel - if I were 20 pages in right now - I'd be lost in my own PTR. LOL Glad you found me Jackie - you and your family have been on my mind a lot this week. :hugs:

We are very excited! Well - it wasn't technically our "last trip" that she was sick on... The "Influenza B trip" was in January of 2018... We did go last year in June of 2019 and we were all healthy for that trip... However - I am a firm believer that one must do at least "5 make-up trips" for every trip you are sick. Right? LOL

Thank you - I am very much a "visual person" and this has been a blessing and a curse in my life...

Yes - it was such a relief to get dad here, and then to get him into the AL we really wanted... It's been just a huge sigh of relief that everything fell into place so perfectly. He is still doing really well and enjoying it a lot.

Thanks for stopping in! Super bummed that we miss you too - but one of these days we will overlap. :lovestruc Sending you big hugs my friend!

I am finally here D. I have been away from the boards for a while now. So happy to see another mother daughter trip and following along!
Same Carol - same. LOL At least I get to meet you this summer - Allison and I are very much looking forward to that!

LOL!!!! It's great to see you here! I am not sure if our dates overlap or not? Feel free to PM me and we can chat privately about this. :lovestruc Regardless - I am very excited for you that you get to have a trip with them - how fun!!!

You’ve probably answered this before but where do you look to find reasonable airfare? We’re going down in September and deciding between driving from Ohio or flying but some places don’t have flights posted that far in advance or it’s more than I can budget.
Quite honestly - I use Kayak to find good airfare - but I never book through Kayak, I always go directly to the airline website and book through them. :) And it's a constant reload of the page... I also use their search function of finding the lowest fares, especially if we dont' have firm travel dates and just "wanna go". :)

I must be living under a rock, because I totally missed this report!!!

I am pretty bummed. We had originally planned to try to get down there in May also, but I have decided to get my other knee done in April...so it will be at least next year before we make it back. (unless I win that lottery...so there is hope:rotfl2:)

Oh no!!! That would have been so fun to meet up. But I am glad you are getting your knee done - that's important too! :lovestruc

Yes, dad is all moved and all settled in his new place - and really liking it a lot!

People keep saying that - not sure what is up? Some people can see them and some can't??? I'll have to investigate when I have more time. :)

Hi MO!!!!!! It's great to see you here! (It's great to see me here - LOL - it's been months!) I've been terrible about checking in - I have lots of updates to do and just no time!

Tell me about it - Even just since we went in June - so much has changed. I haven't even read anything about Star Wars yet - I honestly think we might skip it for this trip? Unless V feels like figuring it out? It just seems like such a mess.

It will be so fun to do V's 21st in WDW - we are very excited about it. And even better that she wants to spend her 21st birthday with her MOM. LOL :woohoo: Partay!

Not sure about the pics - I haven't been here in Eons... I need to investigate. Stay tuned!

Miss you my friend and hope all is well in your life and that you are feeling better!

Bad, bad, bad, bad Diser right here. I know. Rest assured - I am still alive! :)

And I don't even have time to update today... Just ran in to say hi and see if my thread was even still active anymore. Thanks for keeping up on it for me. :lovestruc

Lots of big news for you all - honest... but I have to go run and wake V... We have a busy schedule ahead of us today!

Prayers and pixie dust to you all! :grouphug:
