SOLO: A Chunkymonkey Story - June 2018! NEW 8/23 Last SOLO Moments THE END - Final VLOG posted!

Loved the VLOG. I'm not sure we've ever done the walk between SSR and Disney Springs before either, and we've stayed at SSR a few times. How frustrating to start walking what was clearly the wrong way though. Glad you got some food and shopping time in though.

It's bad enough when you get lost, but getting lost by yourself in the dark had to be a bit unnerving. Glad it worked out.

That ramen looked delicious. I'll have to remember that next time I'm near there for a light meal or need a hold me over snack.

I want everything in Marketplace! That store is dangerous for me!

Nice room at SRR. Is this your first time there?

I really enjoyed your vlog. Please continue to make more. You have a very pleasant speaking voice. Whenever I hear my voice, I always ask someone if I really sound like that! My nasal Chicago accent comes through, even though I don't think I sound like it.

The Uber driver had dropped me off at the far west side of Disney Springs which I wasn't expecting.

Was there a problem with the Uber driver dropping you off at the front desk of SSR?

I see a small sign for "Walkway to Disney Springs" but it didn't show me where it led to. It was also really dark and the map was so tiny on my phone.

Yeah, the first time we did it was coming from the resort to DTD as it was still DtD at the time. I can see that it would be hard to find going the opposite direction.

I asked her how to get to Saratoga Springs from where we were. She said "Oh that's easy, you just take the pathway up by the water." She pointed it out to me so I walked in that direction.

Even though its blurry the first thing wrong with that picture is that the water is on the wrong side!

Oh look, parking for Minnie Vans!

Oh my gosh! I know exactly where you are! Remember in my TR when we had to pick up the replacement scooter at the Bell Services area, and I convinced Fran to get a drink in the Turf club bar? That Minnie Van parking lot was right across the river from there. We could see it out the window as we enjoyed our drinks. So by this point you've walked WAY farther than your building in Congress Park and you're now even with the main building with the lobby, restaurants, spa, and DVC center.

What I did know was that at some point, I'd have to cross the big lake/river which separated me from Saratoga Springs, and there was no bridge in sight. I kept wondering if I was on the right path.

Happy swimming! :lmao:

Then it dawned on me that maybe I was being led to the treehouses section of Saratoga Springs, which according to the map was really far away from my building (I think).

You had a ways to go before you would have hit the treehouses, but again you would have to swim across the river for them too. The only bridge is the one you eventually found.

BTW, I had to turn the lights off of my ears because I was a walking target for bugs!! Gross!

:crazy2:

And the Star Wars store!

Whoa! You DO have quite a ways to go!

My prayers were answered when I walked by Morimoto Asia...

Now you're about halfway there...

So I pretty much had like an egg drop soup ramen. :)

That sounds really good. Back in college I used to do that to my Top Ramen to make my $.28 dinner a little fancier! If it wasn't 90° out I would now be craving Ramen or Pho!

It really hit the spot! The broth was full of umami flavor and the ginger helped calm my stomach. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the egg...well, it added some protein to the meal!

Sounds perfect!

I did go to check out Trend-D and the Co-Op for The Dress Shop.

Well you are definitely getting closer to your destination!

I walked over the bridge, and I finally saw a sign that said TO SARATOGA SPRINGS. THANK YOU!!

Hallelujah!

I saw a back door, thinking I can get in, I reached over to open it. NOPE. Doesn't open.

I guess you figured out that the doors all open to the outside, no hallways so to speak.

Of course my luggage was not.

:headache: You'd think that by the time you got there they would have brought it!

So now I could do a little pampering with my bath bomb from basin and this little face mask I got from Target:

I wouldn't have had the strength and probably just crawled into bed all dirty and sweaty!

Love the vlog! Love love love! You're inspiring me to try vlogging maybe! Love the quick tour of the new Pop rooms. I'm likely staying there in November of next year, so it was exciting to see a video walk-through!

The Uber thing: I took one (well, Lyft actually) back in May, and here's how the driver explained it to me: They can drop you off pretty much anywhere. Nice drivers (like mine) will drop you closer to the center. Jerkface drivers will only drop you off at the official Uber/Lyft pickup/dropoff point, which is that place waaaay out beyond the West Side. (And I know exactly where you're talking about because to get picked up, you HAVE to go there. When you request a pickup, that's the only designated meet point for them to come find you, so I had to go out there to catch my ride back to my hotel.)

Also, if it make you feel any better, I got lost on my last trip, too! Like, crossing four lanes of traffic on my scooter and ending up in a closed Fantasia Gardens kind of lost... before I finally turned around and went back, and discovered just how off course I'd gotten my attempt to walk (scoot) from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios. And I don't even have a cast member to blame, just poor/confusing signage. It happens to the best of us, boo!

Isn't Mama Melrose delicious? I had a super excellent meal there on my last trip. I regretted putting that place on the back-burner for so long due to the mixed reviews. I really enjoyed it!

Oh my that walk looked scary! Did you ever find out if it would have led to Saratoga if you’d kept going? I don’t blame you for turning around! Way to make the best of it though with some soup and shopping!! Somehow I still haven’t tried Morimoto- next trip. I’m actually thinking about doing a long weekend at Saratoga or one of the neighbor hotels or whatever they’re called just to focus on Disney Springs (and, let’s be honest... EAT). Love the vlog!!! You should definitely do more. I would definitely subscribe to your channel to follow along on all your adventures!

Enjoying this report so much, your writing is so entertaining. I wondered how you would fend for yourself, and this trip to find your hotel was proof that nothing rattles you! I did have a question about your getting a bus in the parking lot at Hollywood Studios to go to Epcot. I haven't heard of this service before. Is it located where the taxis drop you off? Thanks.

All of my quotes went away and since I should have left for work already... I'll just say this much: HOLY COW your walk home that night! :scared1:

I absolutely LOVE your vlog and hope you make many more of them! I love the edits and text you added, too - great touches! :goodvibes Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

I'm here and ready to read about your solo adventure! I'm sorry I'm late!
they all thought it was incredulous I'd go someplace ALONE
I think my family would be more concerned about me meeting up with people they don't know than they would be about me going alone. I sometimes fantasize about taking a solo trip, but I think my hubby's feelings would be pretty hurt if I did do one. LOL.

he's doing really well now
Glad to hear your father's doing better. :) Especially since he can drive you around again. :P JK.
I thought the room was great and very smartly designed.
I agree, those photos make it looks REALLY nice. I think the POP room looks nicer than some of the refurbished rooms at CBR, which is a moderate.

I'll leave this reply here and keep on trucking through. LOL.

Whew! I'm all caught up now!

The next day I woke up around 8am which was much earlier than I expected considering I got in so late the night before, I didn't even set an alarm, haha. Anyways, the excitement of Disney awaited and there was no way I was going back to sleep.
I know I had not trouble getting out of bed each morning at Disney (or on any other exciting vacation). I wish I was like that everyday.
I walked back to my room to get ready for the day.
The photos you took of POP were amazing! It looked like official promotional material. I love all the bright colors.

I brought it to the kiosk near the Chinese Theater and yes, it is valid! The CM even complimented me on the bucket!
That's a good investment of a popcorn bucket!

I am not a fan of Kylo as he's a whiny brat. :sad2:
I agree. 100%.
I was best in vehicle! #GoMe #Solo
Congrats! A true achievement!

I realized since it was so dark inside that I could turn on the LED lights on my ears! Yup it lights up.
That's so cooooool! And the interior of Mama Melrose's is so cool looking.

That end seat basically put me on the top row close to the middle and it was fantastic! #SoloForTheWin
So basically, the best seat in the theater. You are a lucky duck.
BTW, I had to turn the lights off of my ears because I was a walking target for bugs!! Gross!
Wow. I would have never predicted that problem. LOL. Kind of funny, but really annoying.

Sounds like your adventure back to Saratoga Springs was... interesting. I feel like the "Disney Spring Resorts" are always confusing to make it back to. When I rode the boat back to POFQ in November, it took forever to find the right place to go. I feel like in general, WDW is easy to navigate, but Disney Springs... not so much.

New PTR Link!
Just wanted to let you all know that I've started another PTR...for a different kind of trip...it's gonna be a big one!!

Myself along with other fantastic DISboard ladies are headed to WDW for a girls trip in May 2019! Come along and read all about it!
It's gonna be...EPIC!

The Most EPIC Pre-Trip Report of All Time! <<-- You don't want to miss this!! :)

(Soon to be the Most Epic Trip Report of All Time!)

Nice! I'm usually stuck on the skewed side!

Me too! Sometimes I ask for the middle but that's only if I'm willing to wait. Sometimes I don't bother if I'm in a rush, and sometimes I just get lucky like this time!

It really is great! I was in line in front of a multi-generational family, I reassured the grandma the ride didn't go upside down, and during the ride ended up seated next to her so I would look over a couple times to see her amazed face!

That's cute! I had to do that in Mission: Space! It's so fun to hear everyone's comments!

Well, if you are going to be lost, might as well be at Disney Springs!

Haha maybe, although my walk was very lonely around the lake!

We tried to find the walkway once, well we didn't try too hard but I didn't see it when I was looking so we took the boat over.

I wish I could take the boat but there were barely any boats! I would have waited forever!!

We hardly ever went to the West Side before, but I went a ton on my last trip because Disney Style has just opened and all the Guardians stuff is in Superhero Headquarters!

Yeah they do have cool stores, so I guess I should spend some more time on the West side!

I always feel awkward watching myself back in vlogs, like why am I talking like this? Why am I making that gesture or moving my body that strange way? Or my favorite was when I noticed I had a crumb in my hair for like 5 mins of a vlog before Josh noticed and got it out :rotfl:

You always look very cute, but we're always our own worst critic!

Oh no!! What a disaster

Yes!!

I want those lace ears! Even though I have the F&G that look pretty similar...

I want all those ears, they are so cute!

This sounds soooo good and perfect for an upset stomach!

Yes it hit the spot!!:thumbsup2

Surprised to see bed runners!

Oh yeah, I guess its not just the stark white sheets here!

Su-Lynn, your vlog is too cute! You should definitely do more!!!

I love how we both got lost in SSR. It wasn't funny then, but it's funny now looking back...That looooooooong walk was soooooooooo exhausting!!!!

Aww thank you!

Did you get lost on the same path too? Did you ever make it across?

Its so hard talking to a phone or a camera, i try every trip and it usually ends up being a log of me happily screeching and saying Magic Kingdom! or whatever ride I'm about to go on haha so I think you did a pretty good job!

That's frustrating that the CM sent you down the wrong path, at least you were smart enough to cut your losses and head back the other way!

I am cringe-worthy but I guess since it's only you guys seeing my vlog it's ok. I don't list it on youtube (it's delisted) because I'm too shy, LOL. :rotfl:

Yeah, I don't even now if it was the right path that I was on! I mean, it was a public path so it has to lead somewhere!

Love, love, love your vlog! Love the glimpses of POP, Disney Springs, and Saratoga Springs. We've never stayed at POP or SSR but will be staying at SSR in Dec. We've also never been to Disney Springs! We've never taken time away from the parks to visit, but since DD and I will be so close to it in Dec, we plan to check it out. Your Star Wars store visit has made me super eager to shop now! The GotG Awesome Mix concert sounded great. Would love to have seen it in person. Thanks so much for sharing. Can't wait to see more from your trip.

Aww thank you so much. :o
Wow you've never been to Disney Springs? Even when it was Downtown Disney?
There are 2 Star Wars stores, one on the west side, which has better stuff including artwork and one on the east side near World of Disney which has more of the general merchandise and more toys.

P.S. How on earth do you manage to still look so cute in that heat?! I would be a dripping wet mess. Heat and humidity are my mortal enemies. That's why we visit in the winter.

Haha, thank you but I was definitely a sweaty mess! My face was so...shiny, it was an oil slick! :crazy2:
That day was not even the worst day. The next day I'll be the hot mess. :crazy2:

I can't even figure out where that pathway was! Maybe the one leading towards the check-in building?

Haha I didn't stay on it long enough to find out. I guess I can google a map or something but I don't want to know that maybe all I had to do was walk a few more feet and a bridge will magically appear...:rotfl:

Yum! I will add that to my list!

It's good! It's better than the Dagobah ramen! And the broth is actually a duck broth which is very mild.

Nice idea! I may have to do that in December...and February!

I do that all the time now! I first learned about therapeutic baths when I fractured my ankle last year before I ran the Princess 5k. The foot doctor told me to soak in epsom salt, like a lot of it. Then I figured might as well soak the rest of me too. The key is using a lot of Epsom salt so you can release all the toxins and bring down inflammation and swelling in your body. I also use dead sea salts and essential oils. The Basin bath bombs are really nice but so expensive. That's why I like hotels with tubs. Well, clean tubs. And now so many places have the standing showers and it's annoying when you just want a nice bath!

Oh gosh, how stressful just walking around not knowing where you were going! Glad you were able to get something soothing for your stomach in Disney Springs though!

Your vlog is so cute! I think everyone hates watching/hearing themselves (I know I certainly do).

It was really annoying when you're so tired and all you want to do is put your feet up but I guess it worked out well (barely) in the end!

Thank you! It's so weird to see myself so I mostly just fast forwarded through the parts with myself so I'm not even sure it came out ok...haha.

Love your vlog very good! Thanks for,the Pop review and video of the room. I like the refurbished room.

Oh man so sorry you were lost in DS, it is far being at the Cirque end and having to walk to the Marketplace area! Glad your soup hit the spot, it looks really good!

Yay for finding your room in the darkness and finally getting your luggage.

Thanks!! The Pop room is so cute! I would love to stay there again!

Yup, lost in DS! I guess it could be worse but for a few minutes I thought of calling a Minnie Van, I mean they were right there!! LOL.

Thankfully Morimoto had just what I was looking for. I would definitely have it again!

June and July have been super busy, sorry to take so long to arrive here!

Wow! Best Airport Food Porn EVER!

That shrimp salad sounds amazing!

My room was on the 2nd floor of Building 5, and was very very close to the main building, almost next to the stairs.

Here's the refurbished room!

So, I have never stayed at POP- did the pre-renovated rooms have more of a decades-appropriate theming? Looks like pretty generic rooms now, much like most of the Disney room renovations.

:magnify:

Nice score on TSM!!!

:worship:

Haven't been to Mama Melrose in AGES! Like 8 or 9 years. We ate there as part of the F! package. It was good, but Sci Fi is our go-to sit-down at HS.

Your lightup ears headband is awesome.

That is funny with the smoke in your HS PP pictures.

That's great that you were able to get so many same day FP at EPCOT- especially Soarin'

And that you got the solo- to the front and center- treatment to fill a seat.

Holy Cow- I think I am a little tipsy just reading about your ice cream martini

I must be in a bubble- had no idea about the Guardians show. In my defense, I don't have an upcoming trip and I spend zero time on the Theme Park boards. But I subscribe to a bunch of Disney FP pages and I didn't see the news there.

YAY (always) for a visit to the Beach Club!

Boo for the bus issue and Uber drop off. I haven't been to DS- ever- and several years since DTD, so I can appreciate being lost there.

::yes::

WOW! Did not know there was a Morimoto CS window. Good to know.

Bummer about your long journey just to get to Saratoga Springs. As someone who is severely directionally challenged, I feel your pain.

When I stayed with the gals, we were in Congress Park. No idea which building. Room 1245.

GRRR on it taking forever to get your bags! :(

Oh my gosh, I would have been so frustrated. This did remind me of when my dad got us "lost" on a hike. He decided to take us off trail and then we couldn't find the trail again so we walked and walked and walked and I started getting nervous about how we were ever going to get out of there. He told me to calm down as we weren't "lost" as he pointed out we could see the lake in the distance which had a road running by it which if we followed it would take us back to our car. I was all teary eyed at that point though and we had to cross through a stretch of forest that had "No Trespass" signs posted. What an ordeal. It was like your seeing Saratoga Springs and having no idea how to get there and just being so tired. Spoiler, we did eventually find the road and made it back to the car.

Haha, yeah, at least you had your dad to protect you! I had my light up Mickey ears!

I think you did a great job!

Aww thank you: :)

Before Uber we would take a cab over and they also drop by Cirque du Soleil
DD loves the Billa Bong store and of course Marvel and SW
You poor thing you were brave to attempt that walk in the dark
Can’t wait to visit the Disney Style store :D
Great job on your vlog

Haha I did not realize that! I thought I had taken an Uber to Disney Springs before but then i realized I haven't before.
I love the SW and Marvel stores, worth the trek to the west side.
I had to get to the resort so I didn't know what else to do, LOL. i didn't even know I was lost!
Thank you!

Oh my goodness, what a wild night!! I would have gotten much more flustered than you did! Fortunately, your ramen and some of the fun shopping you did seemed to help salvage the night. And your room looked really lovely and welcoming once you finally got to it!

It was a crazy night! But adventure does happen at Disney and it made good vlog fodder. Hahaha.
The ramen and the shopping with all the livelihood of Disney Springs did salvage the night!
And that room was the best thing I've ever SEEN it was like a mirage

Loved the VLOG! nice way to put the instagram story together as well.

Thank you! It was definitely a learning experience putting it together but I hope the next one is better!

Checking in as promised. :wave2: Can't wait to get all caught up. I always love your reports and am so looking forward to meeting you in May!!! :flower3:

Hi Melinda!! I'm so happy you're here!!
I need to find time to comment in your Aulani TR because you went to some of our favorite places in Hawaii and now i need to go to Hawaii. Like right now!
I can't wait until May!

Following along .I really enjoy your trip reports you have a great way of sharing and explaining that keeps it interesting. Wow... What a journey to get to Saratoga Springs. Glad you can laugh about it now

Thank you so much! It's my pleasure to share my experiences, I'm glad it's entertaining enough, LOL!
Yup it was the endless journey it felt. I was so tired but I kept on and then it wasn't so bad after that :)

Loved the VLOG. I'm not sure we've ever done the walk between SSR and Disney Springs before either, and we've stayed at SSR a few times. How frustrating to start walking what was clearly the wrong way though. Glad you got some food and shopping time in though.

Thank you so much! I'm sure the next one will be better, LOL!
Yeah I Though it would be so easy to walk back and forth when you know where you are going at least, LOL
It all worked out and now I have a story to tell on the vlog!

It's bad enough when you get lost, but getting lost by yourself in the dark had to be a bit unnerving. Glad it worked out.

Oh for sure! At least I had my phone to talk to, LOL.

That ramen looked delicious. I'll have to remember that next time I'm near there for a light meal or need a hold me over snack.

It was very good! A lot better than I expected it to be!

I want everything in Marketplace! That store is dangerous for me!

OMG me too!

Nice room at SRR. Is this your first time there?

Yup! Obviously since I had no idea where I was going, LOL.

I really enjoyed your vlog. Please continue to make more. You have a very pleasant speaking voice. Whenever I hear my voice, I always ask someone if I really sound like that! My nasal Chicago accent comes through, even though I don't think I sound like it.

Thank you! I think I sound like a prepubescent teenage girl and large toddler mixed up but but I'm glad you think it's pleasant! :rotfl:
It's always so weird to hear your own voice. I love regional american accents! Chicago, southern, Boston, Brooklyn, haha. I wish I had a proper New York accent because then I wouldn't sound so childish. :rotfl:

Was there a problem with the Uber driver dropping you off at the front desk of SSR?

The thing is, it was my fault because I typed in Disney Springs in the Uber, not Saratoga Springs. So I was like, well since I'm here already...maybe I can just walk, right?

Yeah, the first time we did it was coming from the resort to DTD as it was still DtD at the time. I can see that it would be hard to find going the opposite direction.

Yes and in the dark!! :faint:

Even though its blurry the first thing wrong with that picture is that the water is on the wrong side!

Haha thanks for letting me know! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh! I know exactly where you are! Remember in my TR when we had to pick up the replacement scooter at the Bell Services area, and I convinced Fran to get a drink in the Turf club bar? So by this point you've walked WAY farther than your building in Congress Park and you're now even with the main building with the lobby, restaurants, spa, and DVC center.

Yes! I was right there! But of course I couldnt' see anything on the other side of the river!
Happy swimming! :lmao:

Will ya at least throw me a rope? :boat:

You had a ways to go before you would have hit the treehouses, but again you would have to swim across the river for them too. The only bridge is the one you eventually found.

Geez, I wonder why I was sent that way!!

Whoa! You DO have quite a ways to go!

I do...

Now you're about halfway there...

Thanks...

That sounds really good. Back in college I used to do that to my Top Ramen to make my $.28 dinner a little fancier! If it wasn't 90° out I would now be craving Ramen or Pho!

Haha yes! The fancy way is to also add some shredded cheese and green onion to the mix. Also makes a good breakfast ramen #collegehacks

Well you are definitely getting closer to your destination!

And at last I see the light....

I guess you figured out that the doors all open to the outside, no hallways so to speak.

Yes...

:headache: You'd think that by the time you got there they would have brought it!

I kinda expected them not to because I didn't have a room number when I sent my bags over...

I wouldn't have had the strength and probably just crawled into bed all dirty and sweaty!

I am one of those people who can't go to bed dirty! So I forced myself too, those bath bombs were ...da bomb!

Love the vlog! Love love love! You're inspiring me to try vlogging maybe! Love the quick tour of the new Pop rooms. I'm likely staying there in November of next year, so it was exciting to see a video walk-through!

I think you should! It was a fun thing to do when solo because sometimes you just wanna share and instead of talking to myself, which I usually do, and looking strange, I'll just talk into the phone. So many people blog and instagram stuff nowadays no one bats an eye.

I guess I got one of THOSE drivers. But honestly I didn't even know that was the drop off so I didn't know to request for him to take me up to the buses or the Marketplace! I was on my phone the whole journey over and then when I look up I see the Cirque tent.

Haha, yours seems much funner - dodging traffic and golfballs on your scooter :moped::duck:
I really wish I had a scooter!!! My legs were like jelly. I was so outta shape after not being in Disney for 6 months, hahahaha.

Isn't Mama Melrose delicious? I had a super excellent meal there on my last trip. I regretted putting that place on the back-burner for so long due to the mixed reviews. I really enjoyed it!

OMG it was so good! I remember you posting your meal on FB. I've been seeing such good things about that steak so of course I had to get it and it was amazing. I regret putting it on the back burner too and now it's definitely a contender for each trip!

Haha, well according to @franandaj it does not have a pathway in that direction, but I guess I can google or find a map that would tell me but I'd rather not know at this point. Haha.
Yeah I looked on the bright side and overall had a good night!
The vlogging was fun! I'll see if I will do a channel in the future. Maybe if I have enough vlogs of Disney!

Thanks.

Thank you so much! Yeah I'm ok with travelling by myself, especially to Disney which I thought I knew like the back of my hand...but apparently just not Disney Springs!

The bus to Epcot form DHS was only there for a short period of time because the boats weren't running. There usually are not buses between those two parks, just the boats. The boats have been back since end of June I believe.

All of my quotes went away and since I should have left for work already... I'll just say this much: HOLY COW your walk home that night! :scared1:

I absolutely LOVE your vlog and hope you make many more of them! I love the edits and text you added, too - great touches! :goodvibes Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Haha yes, adventures when solo!! I wish I had someone to walk with me but the talking to my phone did help!!
Thanks Tracy! I'll try to make some going forward!! It's a fun thing to do when solo, not sure I can pull it off with more people. Steve is too fast-paced!

I'm here and ready to read about your solo adventure! I'm sorry I'm late!

Hi!! Great to see you here!

I think my family would be more concerned about me meeting up with people they don't know than they would be about me going alone. I sometimes fantasize about taking a solo trip, but I think my hubby's feelings would be pretty hurt if I did do one. LOL.

Yeah we Disney freaks...we are the most dangerous people!! :)

Glad to hear your father's doing better. :) Especially since he can drive you around again. :P JK.

Haha you're right!!
Thank you!! :)

I agree, those photos make it looks REALLY nice. I think the POP room looks nicer than some of the refurbished rooms at CBR, which is a moderate.

They really did a great job with them. Clean-looking with all the modern outlets and stuff. At SSR, the outlet to charge my phone was BEHIND the nightstand so I was moving furniture around at 1am.

I know I had not trouble getting out of bed each morning at Disney (or on any other exciting vacation). I wish I was like that everyday.

I know right? Just start every day with Disney and I'll be awake!

The photos you took of POP were amazing! It looked like official promotional material. I love all the bright colors.

Thanks! It really is that bright!

That's a good investment of a popcorn bucket!

I think I have learned how to beat the system! LOL. This popcorn bucket is a gold mine.

Congrats! A true achievement!

Thank you! Not my highest score ever though.

That's so cooooool! And the interior of Mama Melrose's is so cool looking.

It really is neat! I had no idea.

So basically, the best seat in the theater. You are a lucky duck.

Yup! It worked out...good thing I was solo!

YEah especially since I was not too familiar with the area and where I was going or where the actual path was!

My ears were so cute but not in the dark, esp in summer!

That's great that you were able to get so many same day FP at EPCOT- especially Soarin'

And that you got the solo- to the front and center- treatment to fill a seat.

I was lucky that day! I was not as lucky on any other days.

Holy Cow- I think I am a little tipsy just reading about your ice cream martini

Oh it was STRONG!

I must be in a bubble- had no idea about the Guardians show. In my defense, I don't have an upcoming trip and I spend zero time on the Theme Park boards. But I subscribe to a bunch of Disney FP pages and I didn't see the news there.

It's a brand new show, the day I went was the first day it was offered. Not many people knew about it as it was pretty empty but filled up once they started playing.

YAY (always) for a visit to the Beach Club!

It's such a nice detour! Staying there in Sept! Any new things I should know about? LOL. BTW I don't now what's going to happen with Dee's corner...I think they closed off the bakery!

Boo for the bus issue and Uber drop off. I haven't been to DS- ever- and several years since DTD, so I can appreciate being lost there.

It's just a matter of getting to know the lay of the land. I'll be sure NOT to get lost next time I'm there!

WOW! Did not know there was a Morimoto CS window. Good to know.

Yeah it's pretty good! Limited selection and expensive but definitely delicious.

Bummer about your long journey just to get to Saratoga Springs. As someone who is severely directionally challenged, I feel your pain.

OMG It was a rough night at first but all was ok in the end.

When I stayed with the gals, we were in Congress Park. No idea which building. Room 1245.
I think that's the building next to me. I was in building 2 and you must have been in building 1.

GRRR on it taking forever to get your bags! :(

Sigh...because it would be too good to be true to have my bag waiting there in my room right? At least the AC was on and welcoming...

Wow! Loved the view from your POP room. Too bad you didn't have more time there, but oh, well!

Great morning moseying around HS. Even better 2nd breakfast!

2nd breakfast is a must! Haha.
I really enjoyed Pop more than I thought I would, but it's really just like AoA which I DO like so it's pretty much the same thing, just more, colorful?

Ha! That is funny about all the Solo stuff.

:chewy:

That's hilarious! Hansplaining!!

Nice score on TSM!!!

:worship:

Thank you! I've had practice!

Haven't been to Mama Melrose in AGES! Like 8 or 9 years. We ate there as part of the F! package. It was good, but Sci Fi is our go-to sit-down at HS.

I have never been. It was really that steak entree that compelled me. If it weren't there I probably wouldnt' have thought of it because it just seemed like Italian food we can get at home.

Your lightup ears headband is awesome.

Thanks! I got it at Etsy.

That is funny with the smoke in your HS PP pictures.

I know! I didn't even realize it until I saw the PP picture! The photographer was probably having a blast!
