Sound Advice to Avoid Pre-WDW Stress

Hate to say this (because we're getting really excited as our WDW comes closer) but the best way to avoid over-anxiety and stress is to lower your expectations --- not entirely, mind you, because you are going to the happiest place on earth --- but don't strive for "the perfect vacation" that doesn't exist anywhere on earth, even in the kingdom of the mouse. As we're planning and dreaming, we're also being realistic. Problems are going to happen and things are going to go wrong. The best laid plans of mice and men (even the mouse's objective to provide us with the best vacation ever) are going to be spoiled by weather, health and technical difficulties beyond anyone's control. That's not being negative; it's facing reality. Even in the place where fantasy rules, reality can't be totally suspended. But accepting the expectation that not everything is going to go according to plans frees us to continue the joy of the Disney experience when those problems happen. They won't be unexpected and so they won't interfere with the enjoyment. We're counting the days not hoping for a "perfect" vacation but one that will be exciting and pleasurable.

That's why I've been buying decent lightweight fold into a pouch rain coats for everyone and bringing a lightweight stroller that dries fast if it gets wet!! No rain will stop us!!!
