Taxi from Heathrow airport to a nearby airport hotel?

Most Heathrow airport hotels seem to be serviced by a 'Hoppa' bus, but if you just want to get off your flight and head straight for a taxi, instead of waiting for the bus to come, I assume taxis are ready and waiting and will take you to the hotel of your choice?

Just wanted to check that there wasn't some arrangement that means taxis can't go where approved bus routes are in place or anything like that...

We went via coach to Heathrow in April so needed a taxi when we got there. We went to T3 I believe and there was a big long line of taxis with staff outside guiding you to them so you were dealt with in order. Much quicker than the Hoppa and more convenient for us.
