The Disney Wish, what are you wishing for?

Yeah, even if you were only in the room for a few minutes, I, too, would have called it in if could have pinpointed the cabin.

You would nip that crap in the bud before you were on the balcony for an extended period of time and had to deal with the smoke then and there.

Fortunately that was the only time we smelled it. :)

wish for the Wish = a pool with better accessibility (stairs) we sailed on an old NCL and it was great to be able to enter/exit the pool with limited mobility/independence; more interesting itineraries; a second outdoor deck like deck 4 on the classics and deck 5 (?) on the Dream class (gives more room for runners/walkers as well as shuffle board and lounging out of the sun) - maybe a partial deck if they don't want to wrap all the way around the ship; walking/running track on an upper deck; more thrill attractions for older tweens/teens like water slides/fun zones, obstacle courses, lazer tag/virtual reality (like the VOID at Disney Springs); magic bands; cheaper/free internet!!!!

I really like a second partial outdoor deck. Maybe a flex space. They can do shuffle board and lounging during the day, but in the evenings they open up part of it to be an extended lounge space with drinks and stuff to enjoy sun sets or anything else.

I would like self serve frozen Cherry and Coke slush machines at the drink stations.

I'd LOVE this but doubt we will see it because these things are only operational about half the time on land. Broken just about as much as operational. I cant see DCL inviting that headache even as a paid option.

I never understood why soft serve machines seems so much more reliable, those (I am talking on land here) rarely seem broken. But walk into a Circle K at any given time and half of the frozen drink machines will be blinking. Anyone know what the difference is between the two?

I haven’t had any issues with all our different area convenience stores with them. They are always working at our 7-11, Wawa, and Royal Farms stores. It maybe the style of machines they are using. :confused3

Crazy because Ive noticed the issue across my life (over 40 years) and in 3 different areas of the country. Starting with splitting a Coke Icee and popcorn from Kmart with my best friend after ballet practice to now when we occasionally pick one up after getting gas. About half the time Ive consistently been disappointed.

I would agree that the 7-11 Slushie machines are different from the Coke type ICEE machines. Those always did seem in good repair (the 7-11 machines). Ther produce a more crystallized product. I dont know what WW and RF use or what the end product is like.

We had an old McDonald's, about 75% of the time we'd try to get any type of ice cream or shake there the machine would be broken. A few years ago they completely demolished the place and built a brand new one. Apparently they kept the same ice cream machine though because when we try to order ice cream the machine is still usually broken. I haven't had an ICEE in years. Remember going to get them as a kid, along with the Marathon candy bars.

LOL We have a McD like that where we live now. More often than not, you arent getting soft serve there. This is the first McD where Ive really noticed that (although we arent huge McD fans). Now the Coke Icee Machine is always half working at any Burger King anywhere. ;)

More things to do past midnight. The bars close earlier than I'm used to and I noticed some kid centered activities lasting later than the adult activites. Also arcades that adults can go in not just in the teen sections. Adults play video games too!

This was the subject of a recent poll/thread about DCL in general. Basically two-thirds of the responses agree and said they need more nighttime activities. I agree about the arcades too. I always suggest a Dave & Buster's type space as good idea and sort of a "compromise" in lieu of casinos that will never be on DCL.

I did a stint at fast food in high school. Our machine was also "broken" frequently. In truth, it's a huge pain to clean so we'd shut it down early on a regular basis.

Wishing for:

1) Dedicated 1820 Society (or 1821 Society) space!
2) More adult activities other than the tastings
3) Lazer tag
4) More poolside activities
5) Asian restaurant (paid or not)
6) Better excursion desk (service and contracted out excursion need to be improved esp for Europe)
7) Solo stateroom (ike NCL) with its own Solo lounge (like NCL)
8) More activities centered on age range for young adults (say 21-25 single adults)
9) More water activities (slides, etc) for teens
10) VR games and adventures

Cabins with two real beds (not just the old twin beds). Like a hotel room. I could do without a sofa. And then friends (or an aunt with her niece or sister) could each have a comfortable place to sleep. I agree with a solo fare.

Showers in some rooms. Bathtubs are probably great for those with small children, so make most rooms with those.

Beach chairs that are taller / higher from the ground for the aging population (or other issues).

Anytime Dining (did this on RCCL Allure of the Seas - and we still ended up with the same waiters and table! But got to eat when we wanted) or

Nighttime dinner buffet. Did this on Princess in Alaska and found it so much more peaceful than DCL MDR (which I liken to a school cafeteria based on the din).

And can’t believe no one else has mentioned this... better pizza.

Free Dole Whip?

I love the idea of popcorn, but can just imagine it being dropped all over the ship and crushed into the carpet. I lose multiple kernels when I eat it.

I didn’t know Celebrity had smoke-free casinos. The smoke is the reason I would object. I had a muster drill in a casino, on the “smoke-free side.” As though stale smoke knows how to contain itself.
