Just booked a VIP tour! Does anyone know if VIP tour guest get in 1 hour before park open? or is that just for guest staying at a Universal hotel?

Yes. V.I.P Tour guest get early entry. Early entry isn't exclusive to hotel guests, as long as you purchase your tickets online you get early entry.

However, you will not need it as your tour guide and your V.I.P Tour lanyard will gain you unlimited front of line to all attractions.

THANK YOU! Just the answer I WANTED to hear! I was questioning myself if it was really necessary to take advantage of that extra hour. Our tour starts at 9:15 and we are driving from a Disneyland Hotel. That gives us an extra hour to get there. I'm hearing horror stories about California traffic.

Yup, VIP access will give you plenty of time to do everything. And traffic will be bad if you're going on a weekday!

Yes actually its a Monday. Memorial Day any tips on how early we should leave? Our VIP tour start at 9.00 but we would like to be there for 8 just to take walk around and take in the sights.

There should be very little traffic that morning. Where are you driving from?

Thank You! That's kind of what I was thinking to.
I would expect little to no traffic that morning. The only place where there could be any traffic is just through the interchanges Dowtown since 4 freeways meet and merge/un merge there.

Yeah!! Wondering about this and if the VIP express pass was worth it. We will just have one day and it is in the end of July. Would you recommend a Sunday or a Monday? Also, what is the best way to get to Universal from Disneyland if you do not have a car?

Hey @MissMagnolia!

I've gone on the VIP tour twice and definitely say that it is worth it. Limitless front of the line passes---I rode Jurrasic Park and the Mummy ride 5 times in a row EACH!
Both times I've stayed in Anaheim and used LuxBus.

First time I didn't like (but understand) that they pick you up around 4-5 to avoid rush hour traffic, but I didn't get to explore City Walk or see all the shows(Special Effects, Animal Show) I wanted to and felt rushed.
Second time I only booked one way to get to Universal from Anaheim---there was a hold up at the main bus station and i almost missed my VIP tour appointment because of it. I booked Lansky to pick my brother and I up at 9pm which gave us plenty of time to re-ride all the rides we enjoyed and also to eat and shop at City Walk, but it was pricey (160ish).

I'm going again this summer and am considering Uber or Lyft to get to Universal and back to Anaheim. I feel like it's more flexible and private.

I thought it was worth every penny. We only had one good day, and this moved us around the park and backlot very efficiently to see almost everything. If you get there early, you can go ahead and check into the VIP area. We ate a little breakfast and watched everyone coming into the park from the balcony.

We went on a Friday in June, and during the afternoon, I was very relieved not to be fighting those crowds! I moved out to one of the Universal hotels for that part of the trip - we did all the Disney stuff then moved and did Universal, the WB Tour, went to a show (the whole purpose for the trip), and did the Hollywood touristy stuff.

Thanks everyone!! Just got back from our trip. VIP was worth every penny! Our tour guide was great. We were done the entire park and all shows by 5:30. Breakfast and Lunch was way better than I expected.

Hi tessiesevin,

Would you be able to give us a brief recap of how the day progressed? We have the VIP tour booked for August, with 3 kids. I am just curious as to how things work.

Thanks.

We got in in at 8.00. you have a VIP entrance to the far left. We were on the first tour of the day. As soon as we were checked in we were escorted to the breakfast area. We were in a group of about 15 people. We started off with the bus tour that lasted about an hour and a half. Then we started with the upper lot. We has a wonderful lunch. All the food was amazing. We did all rides and shows by 5:30. It really was worth the money.

Thanks. After the bus tour, are they taking you to the rides or are you on your own at that point?
