Vegas with Teens - Would you splurge?

Bellagio is good as well. Have heard good things about it. Keep in mind Bellagio charges full price for kids, which put us off of it. All other buffets charge half price for kids under a certain age.

No worries there--I'll be solo! Thanks!

We are headed back to Vegas in April 2019 as part of a California trip. The plan is to spend 4 days in Anaheim and 2 days in San Diego followed by 3 nights in LV. Planning to stay at the Palazzo.

We're planning Vegas-Grand Canyon-Sedona. Thoughts on how many nights in Vegas with teens? I am thinking 3-4? One day south strip, one north, one Fremont street?

Heading to Vegas on Friday! Originally we were supporting DHs friend at the race track, but he pulled out at last minute... so no solo Vegas time for me. But we moved up our flight on Friday to get there earlier now. Debating if we want to splurge and do two Cirque shows, since we liked O so much last time, and moving the Friday flight up means we'd easily be able to do a 9:30 show...

Can't believe we're headed back to Vegas for Spring Break in less than 3 months!! Bumping this thread. I have breakfast reservations at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris and a lunch reservation at Yardbird at the Venetian. We plan to eat at Ceasers Bacchanal Buffet! This time were headed to Valley of Fire and Bryce and Zion National Parks!

We did the Vegas/Zion last summer. Hike the Narrows first thing in the morning. Narrows was the best vacation experience we have ever had.

We ate at yardbird because they had gluten free fried chicken for my husband. It was good! You will LOVE Zion! However, I hope everything is up and running by then from this shut down.

Thanks for the review of Yardbird. I hear it’s similar to Chef Arts. Yes, I’m hoping everything is up and running too. We are going the last week of April so have some time.

If you get a chance go see TJ Tyler (he is a Frank Sinatra tribute singer) at the Mandalay bay (Free Show). He is excellent!

I now realize this is an old post.

I took my teenage kids to Vegas last summer and we ended up staying at the Palazzo. It is a sister hotel of the Venetian (located side by side) and in my opinion, better. Rooms all have sunken living room with plenty of space, and the 2 hotels share the same swimming pool complex.

We got our hotel at a very good rate using Hotwire. When you book on Hotwire, you actually don't know the name of the hotel until after you book. However, you can identify your hotel by comparing the info on Hotwire to data on this Hotwire hotel list for Vegas. Both the Venetian and Palazzo show up in Strip North zone. Look for an "all suite" hotel with a casino, and you're almost guaranteed to get the Venetian or Palazzo. Please make sure it has a casino or you could end up getting the Trump hotel which is off the Strip and not what you want. Good luck!

We're planning to go back this summer and I'm already eyeing the Palazzo/Venetian.

How much do the rooms go for on Hotwire? We plan on going to Vegas the third week of August, 2019.

There are free shows in Vegas? I was told most shows are $100+. Where do you find free shows? Thanks for any info.

I know this is an older post (not that old) but we are planning 5 days in Vegas as part of our trip out west. There seems like a lot to do in Vegas. We have 3 children (16,16,10). Any suggestions on what part of Vegas to stay in? If we stay in the middle of the strip are most places walkable? I guess we could uber if we needed to?

We actually did not take this trip, but I think we plan to stay at NYNY when we go as it seems to be walkable to a lot of things the kids would enjoy - roller coaster and arcade at NYNY, Titanic exhibit at Luxor, sharks at Mandalay Bay.

With kids I would pick Mgm grand. Their pool area is nice. I’ve stayed at Mgm, nyny, and mirage. Mgm was my favorite. It’s at the south end of the strip but you can walk to most places on the strip, Uber, or ride the bus. If you want to go off the strip you can hire a car, join a tour group, or rent your own car.

Oh my... temps will be in the low 100s in August... we initially went in June 2017 and it was 115 degrees. Last year we went in February and had 80 degree temps. This year, April and hoping for 80s.

That's great. I know August is always sweltering everywhere we go but it is when we take vacation. I (guess) we have gotten used to it. I am sure at those temperatures we will feel like an egg on a frying pan.

Mandalay Bay has the best pool and lazy river. But it’s at the southern end of the strip so not close to the action. This time we’re at the Palazzo. I booked on Hotwire and paid between $115 to $150 a night not including resort fees.

Yup, NJ here too, but south jersey, 13 miles from philly. Don’t listen to those we say desert heat is “dry”.... it was hot as hades there..lol

What’s your price range? Aria, Paris, the Linq, Mirage, Planet Hollywood are all fine and center strip. Ceasars,Nobu, Venetian, Palazzo, Bellagio, Wynn and Encore if you want nicer 5 star accommodations.[
