Sunday, March 20: Waking up was not good today.
Mom and I woke up to the sound of people talking loudly in the other room. I was so mad that I wanted to knock on the wall and yell “Shut Up!” but mom said that they didn’t mean to talk loud and that the walls were thin because this was an older hotel.(important note if you plan to stay there) After I got over the loud people we decided to start the day out with some swimming. Tropicana has a wonderful swimming pool. It’s very big and gets plenty of sun. Perfect for a good swim. I swam in there for about half an hour and had a good time. After our swim I suggested to mom that today was a good day to ride the Manhattan Express roller coaster at the New York New York. We headed over to the New York New York hotel and I was just ready to head to the roller coaster when mom suggested that we get some foot long hot dogs. I know what you’re thinking: You’re about to go on a roller coaster so why eat? That’s exactly what I thought but for some reason mom said that it’s better to ride a roller coaster with a full stomach then an empty one. We got our hot dogs from a place called ‘Broadway Burger’ and they were the best hot dogs I ever had. (okay I made be exaggerating a little, but they were still really good and I highly recommend them.) After having our lunch we were ready to ride the Manhattan Express. The only bad thing was the line was pretty long so we had to wait for 10 minuets. I entertained myself by watching the safety guild video over & over & over. Finally mom and I were on the coaster and had a great time. I tell more about the Manhattan Express roller coaster now:

- The roller coaster has a loop and a barrel roll.
- You have to be at lest 54’’ tall to ride (sorry, can’t take your younger kids)
- You may think that the roller coaster goes fast but it really doesn’t. The max speed is only 65mph and it really isn’t that scary at all, just fun.

When we finished with the roller coaster, we decided to head to M&M World before heading back to our room. M&M World, as you probably figured from the name, is a store dedicated to our favorite group of M&Ms with tons of merchandise and showing the history of M&Ms. Mom didn’t think it was anything special but personally I enjoyed it. The store had some cool looking shirts with funny quotas on them, neat looking M&M plushes, candy dispensers, plates, cups, and a lot more. Another thing that was at the store was a TV that aired some of the old M&M comercials from the 70s & before. You may find that interesting but personally I thought the comercials look a little disturbing. There is even one part of the store where they have 21 different colored M&Ms! I didn’t even think that was possible. You can even take some M&Ms home with you. (Unfortunately we didn’t :( .) For about an hour mom and I just rested in our room till it was time to see "Tournament of Kings" at the Excalibur hotel. For those of you who don't know the Tournament of Kings is a show that takes place in medieval times where different kings from different European countries have a big jousting fight in front of King Author and his son Christopher. What makes this show different from other Las Vegas show is that the stage is just a small dirt field in the middle of a huge room. The tables where the audience sits makes a half oval around the stage. You may be wondering why I said tables instead of chairs. Well how else would they serve you dinner w/o tables. That's right, they actually serve you dinner there! They mainly just serve you a small whole chicken, a roll, and French fry like potatoes, all of which are really, really, good. But there is a catch: you can't use any silver where! :p Another interesting thing is that the seats are divided evenly for all the different countries so basically you root for the knight that represents the country section you're in. There is even a section for the evil knight Dragon. Guess what section mom & I were placed in? That's right! The Dragon section! :rotfl2:it was lots of fun cheering for the bad guy! :cheer2: Overall it's the best show Vegas has to other IMO mom & I highly recommend it.:) When the show was over it was really late at night so we just headed back to our room and went to bed.

Overall: I think that today was definitely a high point in our trip since we did 2 major things today. Well I hope you enjoyed reading this review as much as I enjoyed writing it. On Day 3 our major activity will be going to check out Star Trek: The Experience so stay tuned (especially you Star Trek fans :) )

Yup! I'm strange! I can eat a big meal and go on thrill rides, but will feel a little peaked if i attempt it on an empty stomach.
As kinz already mentioned, the Tropicana has some big plusses and minuses. A huge plus is the location. It shares pedestrian walkways with Excalibur, MGM, and (catty-corner) NYNY.The old tower has worldclass views too. It also has a great pool, a pleasant coffeehouse with can't be beat Steak and crab special ( pretty easy to get a $4 off coupon so a full steak dinner including a 12 ounce steak and 1/2 pound of crab is 14.99 ! ) and great free lobby shows. The drawback of the old tower is location.....it is a heck of a walk through the entire casino to reach it, and the rooms have definately seen better days.
