Week of Oct 8 - Express pass necessary?

We will be there the week of Oct 8. Is Express pass necessary? Trying to decide whether to stay at Cabana Bay or HRH. We have stayed at HRH before but was trying to cut back on the cost a bit this time if possible.

I would say yes. Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving holiday coupled with Halloween Horror Nights makes it a busy time of year. Its also a busy time at Disney with Food & Wine, which IMO, can cause spillover to Universal. We are ones who planned a Disney trip for Food & Wine and are tacking on a few nights at Universal as well.

The 8th Columbus Day will have crowds but they disappear Tuesday and Wednesday in last year’s

Thursday still okay until late afternoon
Weekend will have crowds as many come Saturday afternoon to catch rides before the park closes at 5 for hhn

I’ve been going this time period since 2009

Tuesday and Wednesday that week is great to see a lot in both parks

If you stay at Cbay, use the early entrance time period and do potter
Then hit the rest of the parks at 9:00
