Thanks. What about changing the name on the reservation so you can at least send a friend or try to rent the points out?As per the DVC FAQ page
"You won't be able to cancel or refund your purchase of one-time use Vacation Points, nor will you be able to transfer, bank, or borrow them."
Adding - "In the event that your trip does not unfold as planned and your reservation must be canceled, be aware that one-time-use Vacation Points expire at the end of your Use Year."
Are you sure, because if that IS true (and you are allowed to change the names on the reservation), you have a chance (depending of course on how much time you have) to find someone who can still use them, correct? If you cancel a reservation that used OTU points, the OTU points will be returned to your account into the UY in which the reservation was to take place. If not used by the end of that UY, you will lose those OTU points.
thanks!Just one more thing to point out. If you cancel the OTU points will not show up on your dashboard and cannot be used to book online. Just like point transfers you have to call member services to book a reservation using them.
