When can/should we book excursions?

We are taking our first cruise on RCCL in June of 2015 to Alaska. I'm new to RCCL as I've only cruised DCL before. With Disney, I couldn't book until much closer to travel time, but it seems like RCCL will allow me to book already right now, even though we're just under a year away? And if this is true, SHOULD we book them now, or wait until closer?

Go ahead and book now if you want. If anything gets canceled they will let you know. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the price. They almost never drop.
